Specialties
Our family owned and operated store specializes in finely crafted eyeglasses, contact lens fitting and eye exams.
History
Established in 1958.
In 1958, Arthur Deering left an already long career in the optical industry to open his own optical shop in Winchester, MA. His wife Margaret, also an optician, joined him in running their store and setting a standard for some of the finest eyewear in the industry.
In 1981 Arthur and Peg retired leaving their son John to carry on the tradition of well-crafted eyewear. Since then John has not only upheld the standards set by his father, but has built his own contact lens practice. He has become one of the most recognized contact lens fitting opticians in Massachusetts and across the country.
In 2009 the Deering family welcomed its third generation, and first doctor, to Winchester Optical. Joseph Deering graduated from the New England College of Optometry and provides primary and pediatric eye care to patients of all ages. The office is able to provide exceptional eye care, eyeglasses and contact lenses to all of its patients.
