I took my 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 in for numerous small items. Dustin was my point if contact and he did amaze me of his knowledge of my vehicle. I am an old school guy and that f=does not get it anymore with todays vehicles. I left the truck with them for over a week. I have another so I did not have to have it and Dustin kept me updated during the time my truck was there. He always told me what ti would cost to fix each problem and got my permission before he spent any of my money. Aiken is the largest car dealer I have ever seen and it runs like a well oiled machine and there are many moving part. Thanks you Dustin. If I need anything else I will definitely bring it back to you guys.

We came from out of town and got a great deal on our vehicle. Everything was just as discussed prior to our arrival with no surprises. Our salesman was extremely polite and helpful and the overall experience was great. Would recommend anyone visiting!

I haven’t bought a new vehicle here yet so I can’t comment on a new car buying experience, but they have an awesome parts department that I use frequently. They usually have what I need in stock, and more importantly, the staff is knowledgeable. Check them out.

On Friday I went to another dealership having been promised pricing on a new 2015 F-​150 based on THEIR advertised price. When I arrived and sat down to go over the numbers, I was presented with something around $ 6,000 more than I was told!
I immediately got up and left. I sent Akins Ford a message that evening and Tyler Healan responded. I set an appointment for the next day. I asked if the advertised price was the ACTUAL price or something that had incentives I needed to qualify for in order to get that price. «That was the price» was his answer.
Counting a test drive, we had a deal within hour and a half. Tyler was excellent to work with and the entire process went smooth. Next time you need a new vehicle, go to Akins and ask for Tyler Healan. I recommend them both!

Bought a brand new $ 60k Ram 3500 from them in April. Truck has been in the shop 5 times for the same issues. Their service department is a joke. I came out here today having made an appointment 2 weeks ago to again leave the truck to get «fixed» again. They told me the would have a comparable loaner, as I made an appointment 2 weeks ago. Drove 40 min to get there this morning and they told me they gave all the flat beds out yesterday. The truck is still not fixed and they said the next a available appointment is 10 days out. Service department on trucks is terrible. May be ok with cars. But not trucks. As a smaller business growing I will never buy another truck from them. If you want a truck, get a Chevy from dealer who cares. The jokers don’t.

Can there be 0 star reviews? Maybe a review where they owe me a star? Thats what i would give them if possible. Much like another reviewer on here my car was supposed to be finished in about a week or week and a half after a deer ran in front of me. Now its been there over a month and no one there seems to care. They have missed their own deadlines 6 times now and ive been told it will be ready tomorrow three consecutive business days now. At one point they took a week to wash it because they «wanted to take their time». The manager don blew me off and told me im lucky that erica is the one following my repair because the rest of his staff are even worse! The GM chris akins whos last name you might recognize from the sign out front started out as being helpful but now makes it clear im just a thorn in his side and my $ 5300 is a burden to him and his dealership. He actually raised his voice at me today when i questioned him on whether or not the car will really be ready tomorrow since so many times before it has not. Im not challenging his ego or his authority, im citing their own track record. At this point its a hostage situation they dont care about treating me like a paying customer or like i didnt do something wrong. They just say yea we screwed up but oh well deal with it and pay up. Hopefully my insurance company will make sure the car can get fixed right at another shop if they drop the ball yet again. They have had to redo their own work twice now and its never even left. Run away, if the man with his name on the sign doesnt care about the customers why would anyone else?

Places like Akins Ford are the reason I ended up buying a Lexus. I used to go there to get parts for my Cobra — a lot. This review is about the dealership, not the manufacturer, though. Just parking and seeing the salespeople start to converge on you like hyenas converging on the remnants of a zebra corpse was enough to cause a certain sense of dread rise up inside your body. Of course, buying parts was never a hassle. The parts guy acted like he hated me, but he does his job. Seriously, does it kill people at the counters to smile?
When I was going to trade-​in my old Cobra for either a new GT or a Shelby, it was pretty tough to get help. I eventually test drove a GT and usually the salespeople are fairly knowledgeable about the product and they’ll point out some features you may not see and talk about the car. Not my salesperson. He told me his sob story about going from riches to rags and having to sell cars to make ends meet. Tough, right? At least he had a job, which is more than a lot of folks can say right now. This turned me off from the whole thing. He didn’t know a thing about the car. He couldn’t answer any of my questions. It was actually really depressing. He actually asked if my employer at the time had any openings.
I also brought in my old Cobra for a drivetrain problem diagnosis. I was given a quote for the diagnostic service. After waiting for about 2 hours, the service guy comes out and says that ‘they can’t see anything’ on the lift and they’ll have to take it all apart for an additional $ 500. It may have been more, but I don’t remember the details, but it was an outrageous price. I ended up still paying $ 50 for them to raise the car and say they can’t visually tell what’s wrong — which was knowledge I already had and I had explained to the service guy. So, he went ahead and charged me for something I already knew. I love being treated like an idiot.
I’ll give it 2 stars solely for the parts department. They always came through for the little things I needed.

I have had nothing but problems with Akins! When I went to order a car (at the time they didn’t have the color or options on the lot) — the sales person told me that when I was serious to have my dad come in a talk. Needless to say I went down and ordered a brand new car from Riverside Macon Ford. Someone hit my car and I went to Akins because they were closer for repair. It was supposed to be done in 2 weeks, they had my car for over a month. I also took my car in for an oil change (granted it was on a Saturday and I expected a wait) — after 2 hours I checked on it and found out that they had it up on a rack with the oil drained, but it had been forgotten. Will not go back to them if they are the last place on earth!

Been using Akins for about 7 years now, what can I say.
This is a dealer who is very customer focused and wants to make sure that if you are waiting you are comfortable. Your in small town rural Georgia about 55 miles northeast of Atlanta center, however you have a big city feel in comfort.
This dealer has invested in not one but two rooms of comfort. TVs with different channels, two work station areas complete with Wi-​Fi and yes they even supply computers if you left yours at home. They have a child’s play area too.
Another plus if you wait is the full line of inventory always stocked. It is nice to walk around and review the inventory without having a salesperson down your back every inch. Not a hard sell here, Akins only hires long term sales people.
Can’t wait on your car, well they have a rental location too that I have used multiple times. It is an Enterprise franchise that will give you quick service and a good deal with a new car or truck to fill your needs.
One drawback for a few folks is Akins is rather slow. Hey! it’s rural Georgia folks. We don’t move like New Yawkers down here. But when you think about it, that is a good thing.
One of the best in my book that makes you yearn for days gone by when it comes to overall service.

I used to love cars. I really did. Hot rods, muscle cars, pony cars, pickup trucks, customs, classics, beaters, sports cars, convertibles, hatchbacks, fastbacks, GT’s, cruisers, and one VW Beetle have all been titled in my name. Up until November, I drove my little 66 Dodge Dart wagon around quite happily, reveling in its nonconformity. Then the engine crapped out. I did the cost-​of-​repairs math, and sold little ‘Shmoo’ to a guy from Calhoun who drove ‘one just like it’ as a kid and wanted to do it again. Good luck with that, brother. This left my wife and I with a 2006 Mustang as our sole means of rolling. Sporty wheels, true, but just not a people hauler nor a carrier of fertilizer bags and other garden necessities. Maybe it’s a senior thing, but I began to realize that a vehicle should be a transportation device that moves people and goods from Point A to Point B and back again reliably, safely, economically, and with working A/​C and heat. Cheap insurance would be good also. My Craigslist and Google searches finally yielded THE vehicle: a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria with only 52 000 miles at Akins Ford in Winder (!!!). So, I asked about particulars online, delineated the trade terms I wanted, and drove there on a Saturday. The dreaded ‘dealer experience’ turned into a polite, efficient transaction, and we drove away in our ‘new’ vehicle 2 hours later, having been treated to an onsite buffet while we waited for the paperwork to be done. Our salesman, Woody Sowder, was very helpful and always to the point. Only gripe: Akins is in Barrow County, I live in Forsyth County, and they overlooked doing an emissions inspection on the car (and I forgot to ask). Rather than drive all the way back to Winder from Cumming, I got it myself.
