Some people believe that the medical treatment you receive in smaller and more rural communities is second rate. I did not find this to be an accurate description of my visit to the TMC Rehab facility in Winder, Georgia. I visited it to have an orthopedic surgeon evaluate my fractured finger to determine if I needed surgery. While the physical facility was not as new or as plush as you might find in a larger community, the service was excellent. While there were quite a few people in the waiting room, I was seen by a medical professional almost as soon as I completed the preliminary paperwork. I found everyone I came into contact with to be both courteous and professional. Dr. Rovenzano determined that I did not need surgery on my finger, instead referring me to occupational therapy. I understand that this facility, which also provides pain management, sports medicine, and other specialized medical services, is part of the Barrow Regional Medical Center.
