I recently sold two plastic atv fenders online. Not having a suitable box, I decided to make the 20 minute drive to North Windham. I walked in with the fenders in one hand and was met by a friendly woman who took down my information as well as the recipient’s. These fenders were going to PA.
She measured them on the floor — twice. I’m aware that the prices are a bit higher than normal, and knew I’d probably be on the hook for 50 – 60.00.
After typing away at the computer, she delivered the verdict.
Shipping BEFORE packaging: $ 184.00
That’s not a typo. The reason? The package that would have been approx 40Lx 30W x 24H «was going to take up space on the truck».
UPS has delivered many packages to my home. I’ve never seen one making the trip on the roof. They all came out of the truck.
