Chris Maccario Landscape

We were looking for some front yard clean-​up. We were looking around for someone had no luck getting people to call us back. I decided to give Chris a try. Not only did he call me back that evening, he came back out later that week to look at our yard and give us an estimate for doing the work. I was very impressed with his promptness. I ended up hiring him to do the work. One of his employees came out and cleaned everything up, doing a great job. He then came back a week later to finish. Our front yard is finished and looks great. I would highly recommend Chris Maccario and will definitely use him again for future projects.

Initial Meet & Greet was good. Chris (the owner) is a folksy talker. We exchanged a few emails after our meeting and he responded well. The first week: I sent Chris an email stating that my husband and I did not think his employee had shown up as my husband works from home and only steps out briefly for a lunch break (??) or did we have the wrong day?! (Customer re-​assurance goes a long way sometimes, especially in the beginning.)) Truly, we wanted to meet his employee who would be taking care of our front and back yard because we did not get to meet him at the Meet & Greet. Well, Chris took quick offense to the way I asked, responded curtly, and then dropped off from the radar screen. Then, Chris said he was «going out of town and would not be responding to emails until the next week». The next week came and no call or email from Chris about further work we had agreed to in the beginning. My husband was waiting for Chris to call on the telephone, preferably, to discuss irrigation equipment choices. I had requested a stump removal — no answer to that email either…
Our brief observations: 1. No paperwork is exchanged– no written Client Contract exists — all verbal. Your word against his. This business does not use any paper or electronic client contract documentation for a client to keep so that the customer can have the work itemized. Example: What will be done weekly or how long each week his employee will give us to do the work, and any extra work we need done. No time given to us as to when his employee will be showing up so that we can meet his employee. No policies or guidelines for how to get ad hoc repair and design landscape work accomplished by a certain date from his employee. 2. No documented project schedule of when the various landscape repairs requested will begin so that we can plan. (I’m thinking: Do you need money from us? If so, when?) It’s all verbal or if the owner chooses to communicate, at all. If you are looking for a professional company that uses client contracts, has policies and guidelines in place, and is transparent about their work load, project timelines, and what to expect weekly, then this might not be the match you are looking for in terms of customer satisfaction. I don’t think this business has a website either.

After interviewing several landscaping candidates we chose Chris as he impressed us from the beginning. Chris was conscientious from the start with returning calls and scheduling an appointment. He reviewed our needs and made several insightful comments regarding what kind of maintenance our property needed. He then took a few hours to think about the job before providing a quote, no snap judgments.
Chris and his team have been servicing our yard for several weeks now and it has never looked better. We have a lot of trees which leads to a lot of leaves this time of year. Chris has kept up with the leaves while continuing to prune plants and trees as necessary. Once the bins weren’t completely full of leaves his crew also got rid of some invading ivy.
Bottom line is that Chris and his team do a great job, highly recommended.

I found Chris via Unilocal and decided to give him a call to come give me a quote to install a new drip system around my whole yard/​house and install new bushes. He also installed some bender board for me and fixed some leaking hose/​spigots. From the start Chris was friendly, professional and prompt in his quotes and installation. In these busy times, he was honest in giving me install dates that he held firm to and both him and his crew were top notch. I would recommend Chris to all family, friends and Unilocalers looking for someone who they can trust, who has a good track record and will deliver on time and on budget.

Way too expensive on a quote for a recent job

We had Chris come over and work on two leaks in our yard. He and his crew were able to find them fast and fix them right. They came on time, cleaned up very well and were very polite and good to work with. Reasonable price and fast service.

I recently bought a house in Windsor and the backyard had never been landscaped. It’s a large lot and until recently, was just a big pile of dirt. I had big plans for the space on a small budget. After interviewing several landscapers I hired Chris for the job. He was the first person to work with me to keep within my budget and get the yard I desired. He started immediately and finished up quickly! Because I was on a strict budget, I planned to do a lot of the work myself. Chris went WAY above and beyond the scope of work we agreed on and even came back a few times to help me out on some snags I ran into long after his job was done. I will definitely be hiring him again for future projects.

I used Chris Maccario for sprinkler repair on my townhome. He was quick to respond to my call and was able to come the next day and assess what needed to be done. He was honest and trustworthy and ended up coming back the next day and fixed my issue in no time.
He seems to have great experience and is very friendly. I will use Chris again in the future for any other yard/​sprinkler projects I have.

Dependable and personal landscaping at its best! We inherited Chris and his landscaping services when we purchased our home in Santa Rosa three years ago. One of our neighbors had Chris work on a complete renovation of their backyard. The finished product looks like it belongs on the cover of Sunset magazine!
Recently while having my teeth cleaned, my dentist (Dr. Nicole Le of Santa Rosa) was telling me about how great her gardener is. Guess who her gardener is – yep, it’s Chris!
