Business Owner
Terry McDonnell started the Sustainable Farmer because he wanted to:
–promote local farm products that are produced sustainably.
–help farmers share information about sustainable production practices.
–make a positive impact on climate change.
Terry has had a long-standing interest in small-scale agriculture, the environment and energy issues. He studied Agricultural Economics at Hampshire College and owns a 500 KwH hydroelectric power plant. He currently lives «off-the-grid» with his wife Katie and 5 kids. Their house is heated by a Froling log wood boiler and all of their electricity is provided by a 7 KwH solar array.
