We decided to take a drive on a rainy NH day and ended up in Windsor Vt. to have dinner. Unilocal reviews convinced us to try out this unique and charming restaurant housed in a train station. We found the décor and atmosphere of the restaurant quite welcoming. We had prompt and friendly service immediately on a busy Saturday night. We were seated at a table in the bar which was abuzz with conversations of folks that were obvious regulars. However it never seemed loud to us. Our server hastily delivered a basket of warm crusty bread served with a maple butter which was to die for. We opted for salads before entrees. The Signal Salad made with arugula and smoked trout was an unusual and delicious combination. The Caesar Salad was equally as good. My husband and I decided on pasta dishes so that we could sample the marinara sauce that Windsor Station is know for. This was an excellent choice, absolutely delicious with the eggplant and veal. Also piping hot. We rarely order coffee and dessert but since the rest of our meal was so outstanding we did opt to try a cup of the organic Columbian and a slice of the dense but not too sweet carrot cake with maple frosting. Great decision! My husband and I concur we would drive from NH to VT for dinner in a heartbeat to experience this great restaurant again.

Very good, but hidden spot. Inside an old train station, this rustic and homey bar and grill has fantastic food. Highly recommend their burgers.

This restaurant is a very lovely place, in a former train station. The decoration inside was amazing. We were a party of 4, we ordered 4 different pasta dishes. We all enjoyed our dinner. The food was tasty and substantial. The service was very good as well. We were fortunate to hear some very good reggae music for the dessert.

Great place to eat, although the bar is noisy. Make reservations first and then sit in the dining area.

What a totally enjoyable dinner. Wait staff was perfect. The steak, a filet, was perfect. Dessert was perfect. The cocktails were perfect. Do the locals realize what a gem they have here? 5 stars plus.

Wonderful food, good tap selection, good specialty cocktails, and a great atmosphere of an old train station with period appropriate décor and music. The food prices were definitely reasonable and service was excellent. I went a little later in the evening so it wasn’t terribly busy, but I’m told that anytime between 5 and 7:30 on a weekend you should make a reservation. Definitely will return the next time I visit!

The menu is clever, and both the food and service are great. You can also catch live music here on Friday nights!

Was up for a Thanksgiving in Vermont /Early season ski vacation. Went for a 5PM dinner after a day on the slopes with the family. Service was excellent overall. Kids and Wife loved the bread with maple Butter. Had Station salad, flank steak special, Seafood chowder, and Ice cream Cake. Food was very well prepared, well seasoned, fresh, and well thought out. Excellent beer and cocktail list.

Great meal and in warm comfortable atmosphere of a restored train station. Food was excellent, music playing in the background and the staff made you feel at home. Will be back again!

The food is very good and they have a good beer/draught menu. Only complaint is they perpetually seem/feel understaffed and the bar area set up can make it really difficult to just get a beer. Would recommend the burger and the specials are usually really great. Half off wings on weds, well worth it

Love this place. Being from an area 10 minutes away from NYC I was concerned about being able to find good food in the area. Not only does the station have GREAT food, they often have live music and a very good bar. The owners and staff are all great and the specials are always something exotic and new. If you are in the area, there is not a thing on the menu that will dissapoint you.

This place is fantastic! From the ambiance to the food, I don’t have a single thing to complain about. The service was so friendly and not only did the food come out very quickly but it was delicious as well. They have a great kids menu that is sure to please even your pickiest eaters. And even though it is family friendly, it has a great bar area for a more adult vibe.

This place is a cool spot with an interesting history. The history is blended nicely into the ambiance and the food and drinks are great with very attentive wait staff. Portions are good, prices are a little on the high side, but worth it for a nice night out.

Best food and service in windsor. The bread with maple butter is the icing in the cake. The staff is great and the music is in perfect taste.

Excellent selection of Vermont Gins. Courteous and personable staff. Our order of stuffed clams was delayed but once received were DELICIOUS! As always when visiting this restaurant you can’t expect fast turn around … But it’s always worth the wait.

Had heard a lot of great things about this place since it opened so we decided to give it a try. My opinion: It was«okay». Maybe we were biased by the hearsay, but we were expecting a bit more. Good Italian should be loaded with rich flavor — but the food received was very average. The four of all elected to add salt to each of our different dishes to help elevate them — which should tell you something. Their signature special drinks for the night were all quite interesting and enjoyable — only complaint could be they were a bit pricier than comparable restaurants around. All in all, the facility and atmosphere was pleasant and attractive, the waitstaff seemed efficient and polite. However, the fare was a bit lackluster and that’s what’ll probably keep us from coming back.

The food was outstanding. The bread at the beginning came immediately and the butter was unbelievable. It added a sweet taste to the freshly baked bread. I was not a big fan of fish and chips(fried with fried) so I got a side caesar instead. But both were outstanding dishes and I would eat there almost every day. The fish was crispy and yum yum yum. The caesar was amazing but I would recommend asking for dressing on the side. The dessert took a while to come but it was amazing. The chocolate cream pie was rich and was much like pudding. And it was covered in whipped cream.(Maybe too much) Overall, this restaurant was so good and yummy. (The train that comes by is pretty cool too at a quarter to seven) **This review was written by my 10 year old — but I endorse it!

Wait was 45 minutes on a Thursday in sept but it was well worth it. It was well worth the wait, we got a nice private booth, the place used to be a train station and has fresh Reno with nice original floors and a lot of the old charm of a 1700 century train station. This is a local gem that if you ask around what is the best restaurant in town they all will tell you check this place out! A+ Nice service and good prices.

Was visiting the family and we popped in here for dinner(but knew to make a reservation ahead of time). Was really neat to have dinner here and see some of the old elements from the actual train station. We were also lucky enough to snag a table by the window in one of the separate rooms(I believe used to be the ticketing station back in the day) Everyone on the staff was very welcoming and warm, as you would expect in most small town establishments. They have a decent selection of food items that should meet anyone’s interests. I was also impressed with their specialty cocktail menu. I ordered the pork chop and mashed potatoes(hearty meal). The chop was HUGE, seriously not used to that portion size anymore. It was a bit overly breaded and fried for my liking. I wanted to taste more of the pork itself. Potatoes were garlic mashed and very tasty. I will definitely be back next time I’m in town.
