Arco Gas Station

So this was a good gas station… yes, I wrote «WAS». There are a couple of Arco stations in this area and this was the best of the bunch. Good location, reasonably clean, and the few times I went inside and spoke to the clerk he was responsive. I always chuckled about the clerks because I was never sure they exactly understood me but I always got what I needed from them… and they were always prompt. The price was always the most competitive price in these parts. This station even provided windshield cleaning squeegees and paper towels. How much better could it get?
Then one day (the last week of April) I stopped in for a fill up and met a grumbling taxi driver who told me that only premium grade was available. No sweat… that’s what I needed. But the tank-​side terminals were also not working. So a quick trip inside got my pump all ready. The guy never said anything but what a shock when I passed the station on the next day — the last day of the month. THEY WERE CLOSED. Dang.
So now the station is getting a refurbishment. It is all fenced off and it looks like new pumps have been installed, and a new sign: USA Gas. I surely hope they are as good as their predecessor because: Yay! I WAS a fan.
