History

Established in 1888.

Built in 1888 by Colonel Stinson. He was the father of Sallie Stinson, the wife of Texas’s 1st native born governor, James Stephen Hogg. Therefore the famous Ima Hogg was his granddaughter. Established as a timber plantation. The lumber for the first courthouse in Dallas came from this estate as did the lumber for the first bridge across the Trinity River in Dallas. Mike Hogg was responsible for having extensive concrete work done all around his grandfather’s estate. It was established as a B&B in 1985 and earned a Texas Historical Marker. Today, it is still alive and often referred to as a Boutique Hotel.
