I found the personnel and adopting family rude, and impolite towards ethnic people. They spoke to people of color as if ignorant of the raising or caring of dogs. Or if following the adoptive family-​friendly rules: example deciding on adoption after home care visit only to be no longer consider. Or told would be disqualified for not making your mind up rude and unfair. The dog lost due to ignorant adults. Would recommend AKC individuals because of their history. Snoodles had no paperwork. An (almost) all volunteer organization that finds great homes for dogs and cats. The volunteers put in so much hard work and try to find good matches for their pets. Don’t bother to go if you don’t take care of your current pets though. They only want good homes for their foster dogs and cats and they check to make sure you’ll take care of your new pet.

We recently lost one of our 2 wonderful dogs… a 15 year old redbone/​lab mix so are looking for a puppy to be a sister to our Cavalier King Charles & to keep us a 2 dog family. I went by the AARF office on Harvey St. yesterday evening at 5:30 & they were already closed although their hours are posted 12:00 — 6:00 on Tuesday. I decided to try again today & was excited to see the «Open» sign displayed. However, when I knocked on the door the first time at 11:58, no one answered although I could clearly hear someone inside saying that the sign had already been flipped to reflect that they were open. I decided they might be rigid about time & waited 2 minutes until it was exactly noon & then knocked again. Nothing. I knocked a couple more times over the next few minutes & no one ever came to the door. I called their number & got a voicemail box that hasn’t been set up. I’m not sure this is the greatest way to find homes for these precious animals. Bummer!
