I like 5 guys. Simple to the point menu. I was greeted by every employee with welcome to 5 guys. Kind of drives me crazy. Every major Corp is doing it and it’s just robotic. But the intentions I guess are there. Anyways, I got the bacon cheeseburger and it was great. I feel like a fat ass now but every bite was worth it. Cajun fries are the play and they give you so much so I always get the small. Great food for the value. I know this is a chain and they all seem very consistent. Never had a bad experience. Time to go make room.

Am I the only one that isn’t blown away by Five Guy’s??? I find their prices VERY high. $ 7.69 for a CHEESEBURGER??? Whaaaaaaaat?!? With tax, for JUST a burger(no drink or fries) was $ 8.21. Their burgers are pretty good. Nice and juicy but the cost of them is a huge turn off in my book. I’ve had their fries before and they are really good with HUGE portions. Never tried their dogs. Pros: –Tasty food –Fresh cut fries(delicious) –lots of toppings –advertises«bunless» burgers and dogs Cons: –Co$t All in all, decent burger it I’ve had better.

Just ok, not worthy of the prices. Staff don’t seem happy to see customers they would rather be left alone. This chain was top notch for several years. The Food was good. Drinks not good, service sad. Nasty tables and floor.

The burgers here are so tasty! The way it works is you can order a lil burger, which is a single patty or a regular burger, which is a double patty. Then you can add any of the toppings that you want… grilled onions, mushrooms, jalapeños, condiments and the like. The orders of fries are huge so keep that in mind when ordering. They can feed more than one person. When you eat in the restaurant there are shelled peanuts that you can eat at the table. still always have a problem with throwing the shells on the floor but that’s just me my kids love it. I have to deduct a star because in the last year they have gotten VERY chintzy on their toppings. For the cost, I really expect more. Overall, it is a good place to grab a burger.

I would love to give this location a five star rating, however, due to the peanuts inside in the store, I’m not able to eat indoors… I can only eat outside weather permitting, due to an allergy. The most important part for me is their food… All of the hamburger patties are pattied by hand and their fries are always fresh and hot! They definitely give such a large amount of fries, that I recommend sharing with a friend, especially considering the burgers are also large, but made fresh and to the way you like. I love having the option of many toppings and options for how I want it cooked, whether well done, medium well, etc. I also love having outdoor seating for a great option to enjoy the restaurant in full, but not be near the peanuts!

Overview: This Five Guys is a non-drive-thru, clean, burger and fries establishment located between the Costco and Walmart on Hanes Mall Blvd. The Food: There are only a few options here(burgers, hot dogs, and fries) so in reality, you should only be asking yourself two questions at first: 1) Do I want one patty(~$ 4) or two(~$ 6)? 2) Do I want cheese with that? After you get past these two questions, you have a huge array of toppings like Mayo, Lettuce, Pickles, Tomatoes, Grilled Onions, Grilled Mushrooms, Ketchup, Mustard, Relish, Onions, Jalapeños, Green Peppers, BBQ sauce, and Hot Sauce. I personally get everything except the BBQ sauce and jalapeños. I’m not a fan of the hot dogs or bacon here so I can’t give any recommendations for toppings. I find the burgers to be truly excellent and better than In-N-Out burger due to these wonderful toppings, as well as what I think are bigger, fattier burger patties. I also order either«regular»(~$ 3.50 portioned for 2 people) or «large»(~$ 5 portioned for about 3 people) fries which are pretty salty and often«nubby» but fine in my book. I also greatly enjoy their use of the fancy Coke make-your-own-drink machines. The Service: Bunch of friendly guys who make your order relatively quick(~5 min for a typical meal). Good attitudes here. No waiter service. The Establishment: Well kept, with dozens of clean white tables for 2+ people. Free peanuts that nobody seems to take advantage of because the fries are a much better complement to a burger. Conclusions: This Five Guys on Hanes Mall is a delicious, extremely unhealthy burger and fries joint without a drive-thru that has higher than normal prices(expect to pay more than $ 11 for a meal as of April, 2015). I highly recommend it specifically for people who want a place to sit down and eat before or after watching a movie at the very close by Carmike Cinemas next to the Hanes Mall Walmart. If their prices were more in line with normal fast-food, I would give it 4 stars, but at the current prices, I think your money would be better spent at Chipotle or Wendy’s.

Been to a few Five Guys, this is definitely one of the better ones. It’s wide open dining as soon as you walk through the door. The ambiance is very relaxed and the staff is extremely friendly. Aside from that, the food is your normal grilled burgers and fries deep fried in peanut oil. I definitely will continue to come back as it’s just too good to pass up.

Oh man. If you want a delicious, fresh, juicy burger, this is THE place to go to. They are a little more expensive than your regular fast food joint, but I promise you it is worth it! You can taste the quality all the way from the actual burger to the freshly sliced jalapenos! The fries are yummyyyyy. The burgers are pretty dang big, too. Bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, ketchup, onions, and jalapenos. Mmmm. Now I want one: D

Since my last review 3 months ago, I decided to give this place a try again since I was told it was a fluke. Again. the fry portions are the worst I have ever seen. There were just enough cajun fries to fill the cup. Remind me what I am paying for when I come here. The service is funny and the atmosphere is great. But their #1 deal, a bag-o-fries is simply missing their mark. If I ever go back to this location and get the same result, they are getting a serious 1 star now. Really disappointing.

Wow! Fresh hot perfect cheeseburgers. My wife and I stopped in for a quick lunch. The place was clean. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was great. This has to be the best burger in the triad. The manager came to our table to check on us.(very uncommon in a quick service burger joint) We will come back and recommend this gem to our friends. The Cajun fries are awesome!

What can I say, I just always love the burgers here! The lil Cheeseburger is the perfect size and I enjoy picking whatever toppings I like to pile on it. I noticed that they no longer just have regular and large sized fries but they added a lil as well! The little size was enough for the boyfriend and I to split and only have a few fries left. We usually go for their cajun fries, the seasoning on them is great! The staff here is also very friendly and sometimes make an amusing go at calling out the numbers. Hey, whatever it takes to make their shift go by faster! This is my go to when I am craving a quick burger!

We ate here yesterday. I’ve eaten at this particular restaurant one other time. My hubby had suggested it because he ate at one located near his work. The burgers are very good, but pricey. My hubby and I both think that it’s a great substitute for In-N-Out. That’s what I did yesterday. I ate this burger and pretended I was still in the west coast. We ordered 4 burgers, 1 hot dog, 1 fry, and 2 drinks and the total came to about $ 35. My older son thinks it’s the best burger he’s ever ate. Thinks it’s way better than In-N-Out(but then again, he HATES In-N-Out). My little kid’s hot dog tasted good. I had a bite. They toasted the bun, which I love. Drinks are self-serve, which is always a plus, so you can refill your cup as much as you want without having to wait for them to do it. The order of fry is large enough for all four of us. We even had leftovers of it. Just an FYI, in case you’ve never had their fries. You’re probably safe sharing. It is located across the street from Target. The dining area is spacious and parking has never been a problem. Would come here again, next time I’m craving In-N-Out and can’t fly out.

Five Guys is a good choice to satisfy that burger & fries craving. They offer several toppings for your burger, including peppers, steak sauce, and grilled mushrooms and onions. They also sell hot dogs, but these are average at best. Three complaints: Being a chain not originating in the South, they offer no slaw or chili. I can live without the latter, but I need slaw on my burgers and especially on my hot dogs. If you want variety, you won’t find it at Five Guys. Burgers, fries, hot dogs. That’s it. No chicken, no wraps, no salads, no onion rings. But it’s a formula that has worked to build a substantial following, so I don’t expect that to change anytime soon. Also, Five Guys is too expensive. Don’t get me wrong — the quality of the beef patties is outstanding and their burgers taste fantastic, but it costs at least $ 9 to get a burger, fries and drink. That’s too much for fast food. One can get comparable quality from Cook Out for much less. The burgers come in two sizes, and I’ve yet to be so hungry that I needed to buy the larger one. The smaller burger is substantial. Two sizes of french fry servings are also available. A single small order of fries is large enough to serve as the side order for 2 – 4 people. As a bonus, they provide malt vinegar for the fries. Another bonus, an endless supply of roasted peanuts at your disposal, should you have the craving while waiting for your food. Five Guys has two Winston locations — this one off of Hanes Mall Blvd. and another on Robinhood. I believe another has recently opened in Greensboro, in the former Swensen’s location at Friendly Center. Overall, 6⁄10.
