I PRETTY MUCH FEEL LIKE I GOT RIPPED OFF.
Murphy’s Law: My furnace breaks during the 3 coldest days of the year.
Reedy’s fixed our balky furnace by replacing it with a part. It took an extra day to procure the part, but once it arrived (or so they tell me), it took 20 minutes to install.
But here’s my beef:
The part they had to order is found easily with a simple Google search, and costs around $ 125 – 150. Reedy’s charged me $ 450. At the time, I didn’t have the part number and due to the circumstances, had no choice but to let Reedy’s get it fixed. (hey, when it’s 20 degrees out and your furnace doesn’t work, you don’t have many options to shop around).
Second bummer — the combined time spent on diagnosing the problem and installing it was 45 minutes. They charged me 2 hours of labor.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand how supply and demand works. What irked me was the 300% markup.
I may not be able to prove it, and perhaps I’m overly skeptical… but I can’t help feeling that I got ripped off.
I do not recommend Reedy’s.

We used Reedys for our house in Winston Salem.
This company has caused more trouble for my family than frankenstorm Sandy. We got a heating and air conditioning system put in last year. It has been nothing but problems. They came out to fix it it about 7 or 8 times, and it still doesn’t work right. When they initially installed the system, they left a gas leak.
The staff is incredibly rude and doesn’t guarantee their product. We’re currently in talks with the attorney general, better business bureau, and a lawyer to solve this problem.
Please save yourself the trouble and do not deal with these people.
