Vandavis Aveda Salon & Day Spa

Had an eyebrow wax appt. for 12:15. Call on my 20 minute drive over to let them know I will be a couple of minutes late. After getting there, parking, & checking in I’m informed that my appointment has been cancelled. I called beforehand to avoid this or to at least know earlier. Safe to say I am not happy that half of my lunch break has been wasted in traffic & that my eyebrows still look rough. I will not be back.

I stopped in for a free consultation and samples for my hair. I was ignored at first just looking around, but when I asked an employee for help she was very nice. The sample was generous and I look forward to trying it.

I am new to Winston-​Salem and have been procrastinating getting my hair cut! As a former hairstylist of 18 years and a new client to this salon, I was nervous about having my long locks trimmed by a new person. I booked an appointment with Brittany and it turned out to be one of the best hair services I’ve ever had! She was amazing! She really took the time to consult with me about what I wanted and was very thorough! The salon was beautiful, clean, modern, elegant yet trendy, and the receptionists were very welcoming and professional. The stations are uncluttered and the staff were all dressed very sharp. They played the perfect mix of music and had a very cute beverage bar. Brittany gave me a wonderful neck and shoulder massage followed by a heavenly shampoo, then a perfect haircut and blowdry! Upon checkout, I received a goody bag with a loofa and an Aveda hand lotion. (nice touch) I gladly booked my next appointment with Brittany in 8 weeks and highly recommend you do the same!!!

Fielding cut and highlighted my hair which looks amazing. She asked plenty of questions to feel me out and understand what I wanted. She also gave me an amazing shoulder massage before the cut and a head massage during shampoo. I didn’t try yet but it has a Cool place in the back for massages and pedicures. I would recommend.

Well, made another appointment (now, mind you, I’ve been going here for a few years now, not a newbie) and showed up about 5 minutes before I scheduled only to be told… your appointment is for tomorrow night. What? As if I’m going to set an appointment for a time I KNOW I can’t be there (I’m out of town that day)?? No effort to fit me in or make me a deal for what is now a couple bad efforts. I’m done here. Going to find somewhere else that values my business…

I have gotten awesome haircuts, massages, and waxes her. I highly recommend.
