As usual, any race planned by Track Shack is well organized and starts on time. The race course itself was very pretty and goes through Genius Drive, a privately owned, beautiful road with gorgeous views. The whole course is through beautiful Winter Park neighborhoods, so it makes the miles go fast! There’s even a lot of support along the race course– one family was even outside their home giving out free OJ and mimosas! The only negative of this race for me is that it is point to point, so you have to wait for a shuttle at the end of the race to take you back to your car, which isn’t my favorite. You get a free small tree to take home too!

Favorite Winter Park 5K for the tree hugger in all of you. Love the dirt road trail at the Genius Drive Nature Preserve. Beautiful shady canopy of trees, peacocks calling out along the way, and a tree to take home at the end. This is a timed 5K that does not return to the starting line, you have to walk about 1.5 miles back to the start(partially along Aloma), or take a free shuttle bus back to Showalter Field. Great everytime!

Such a fun race and you get a tree at the end! I think it’s one of the best 5K courses in town. The last mile takes you through a beautiful, privately-owned part of Genius Drive that’s only opened to the public during this race. It’s the kind of course that makes you want to take your time because the views are so pretty. Just make sure you don’t take too long, or else your choice of trees will be very limited. Take note, this is a point-to-point race starting at Showalter Field and ending on Genius Drive. This means you either have to wait for the shuttle buses or you can walk back to the start.
