Top Shelf Aquatics

I can’t say enough about the quality of this store; from its livestock to the wonderful staff, everything is first class, dare I say, «Top Shelf». The employees are always doing their best to help you out, whether it means spending a few hours discussing setting up a new tank or just a quick question about corals or fish. They will take their time in making sure they find an answer to your concerns or direct you somewhere where you may find it yourself. The prices are great and you can rest assured that the livestock they have has been properly acclimated and taken care of.
Special shout outs to Ross and Kevin who, assuming I’m not just naming random people instead of actual employees, never cease to go the extra mile to assist me and make their sales.
Fantastic establishment that is truly deserving of its given name.

This is by far the best Aquatics store in Orlando. The staff is very helpful and eager to answer all questions they help you get your tank right 100% of the time. Top shelf Aquatics has the best selection of beautiful corals… we go to the store at least once a week to see what’s new. This is like a candy store for adults everything is so gorgeous!!!

What an incredible store. I am in the area on business and made that clear when I was engaged by the staff. That didn’t matter Jorge went out of his way to make me feel welcome and took time to walk me around the store and explain several things to me.
They have a Web site of which I will use to order things I need. In the area I live stores like this just don’t exist. Pretty sad. However I now have an online stop thanks to Jorge Marrero. Please ask for him when you pay a visit.

If your just starting in the hobby or been into it for years this is THE store! Alex and Chris will go out of their way to help. Best prices in central Florida. I can’t say enough about how they can help if your just starting out. The store feels more like a good friends house than a business. We look forward to a long term relationship with them. This is a great example of how to treat a customer.

So it took some time for me to actually write this review and will also continue to keep it posted up to date but must say about Alex, Kathy, Kevin, Mitch and Chris have been the biggest help and greatest people to talk to and get helpful advice from even for the big pain in the A$$ that I am. i have purchased my entire saltwater set up from Topshelf aquatics 180g with all the bells and whistles and coral as well by far the store and the people that work /​own the place are Topshelf I’m hands down impressed how many stores do you know that even one of the owners will come to your home to check out any concerns /​problems from big to even as small as a fine tune to your system? None ! Another great thing about this store and its staff is that they are not out to take your money i wanted to buy so many fish and coral at one time and had Alex tell me to slow down I’m not going to sell all this to you because your system will crash buy 2 – 3 and come back for more in a month. How many place would ever do that? Yea that’s right none !! So once again even if your a rookie like myself to a big timer in this hobby this place is by far the best that I have walked into thanks guys at Topshelf aquatics.

Pretty Nice Place Excellent variety of corals and fish the store is a bit crowed so an expansion is need it and with the business as good as it looks for these guys I wouldn’t be surprise that its soon. Really this place is great some prices are a bit higher than other places but still the variety bis really great loved it. Very friendly and knowledgeable guys.

Great store with a lot of stuff to choose from. Super helpful staff answered all of my questions even better than the other fish stores that I had been to. I will come here again. Really good selection and very helpful customer service.

Big shout out Alex!!! Wonderful guy to do business with. He ordered a 220 RR tank and a Monterey stand for me… even though it took a while to get the one wit the least damage due to manufacture shipment. But overall… I’m glad that I drove 2 hours to Top Shelf Aquatics for the business with Alex.
About the staffing… they are busy but they will try their best to greet and help everyone out as much as they could, so great for their business having staffs like that. I’m sorry that I didn’t remember your name, but the one with glasses and was wearing khaki short with Sperry shoes helped me and greeted me with warm welcome and helped me out when I was there. (I’m the guy that ordered the 220 marineland tank and Monterey stand, and have to travel back and forth like 3x round trips, 2 hrs each way).
They do have a lot of corals and fishes in stock, and a lot of high end equipments like AI and ECOTECH in store. Can’t wait until my tank is fully cycled and ready… I will come back for the Moorish Idols as they have it in stock often. I bought some corals from them, and it was at a good prices, not too expensive.
Only disappointment was I bought a reverse dragon Favia and it have aptasia, but it only a minor thing that I’m ok wit it. It’s only a little fixer to get rid of aptasia. Scraped as much as u could off the Rock and put a drop or two of superglue over it then let the glue dried and put it back in the tank. All good
Very happy and will look forward seeing them again.

I have always had an interest in saltwater tanks growing up but always fell victim to the «It’s so much work and very difficult to maintain»
I wandered into Top Shelf Aquatics not knowing much about the hobby.
I was greeted by the staff and given enough space to walk around and just observe the various fish and corals.
They have a great selection of corals, lots of fish and inverts.
I had read online that a lot of fish stores will sell you anything and everything you want regardless of the well being of the fish…
You will quickly see their staff genuinely care about their animals and also want you to have the best tank experience possible.
I purchased my tank and all the accessories from them at a very reasonable price and have been back ever since for all my tank needs!
I would highly recommend this store to people new to the hobby as well as experiences reefers!

I wish we would have come to this aquatic store first – we have gone to half a dozen or so in just the Orlando region alone. The store is very clean and well stocked and the associates were very nice and let us just walk around and observe all the options before trying to bombard us to make a sale. The guy who helped us was very honest about what would work in our tank (we have a little starter 20 gallon saltwater tank) and what wouldn’t work. He even helped me pick the healthiest of the fish because he knew that we needed ones with good immune systems to be able to adjust to a new environment. Thank you so much & we will be back in a couple weeks to pick out some more corals & emerald crabs!

I’ve been in the Hobby for eight plus years and as far as reef shops go… this is as good as it gets. I took a break in the hobby two years ago because I was spending way too much money on it. I was using what’s now called Living Reef because the fish seemed to be healthier and corals were more vibrant but I definitely paid for it. I also used WWC and a few other from time-​to-​time. Their prices were less than Living Reefs (I understand their overhead is high) but still expensive.
I’m so thankful Top Shelf moved in. I now buy all of my fish, coral and dry goods here. Their prices on dry goods even rival that of ebay. For example; I needed 12 7″ filter socks for my sump (6 in at a time) and they’re seven bucks for quality ones at top shelf. The cheapo ones on eBay are more than that after shipping. The fish and coral I buy here are also top notch. Keven hand picks most things from wholesalers here in Florida and even has a coral cultivation center in the back. I like being able to buy frags that are not only easier on the reefs but have had plenty of time to acclimate to tank life. I find these corals typically handle the shock of being in a tank and under LED lights better.
I actually came across this place by accident when it opened. I had a clown fish on his last leg dying from Brooklynella. He was wild caught and succumbed to the disease from the shock of being added to my tank. When I was on my way home from another LFS where they told me there was nothing they could do (didn’t even refund my money and I had to quarantine all my other fish) Keven was able to identify the disease and treat my fish (who was doing better within hours) He also sold me treatments for my other fish who were breathing heavy and looked close to death. Everyone ended up surviving. I assumed Keven sold me the treatments at a premium since I was buying them in the store and needed them right at that time. When I got home I googled the treatment and found the prices were in line with the online prices. When I was new to the Hobby several years ago I had an Ich breakout and have not forgotten how WWC sold me a ton of treatments at a premium and even stuff I didn’t need. That has always left a bad taste in my mouth.
THE BOTTOM LINE
This place has excellent prices, corals, fish and a knowledgeable staff. I honestly would not have gotten back into the hobby to this extent if I didn’t have this resource. I highly recommend this place!

As a beginner marine aquarist Alex, Kevin and the entire staff at TSA have been a wealth ok knowledge. They have guided us in every purchase to make sure that we have a healthy aquarium as well as a well balanced tank. Prices are great with their frequent specials and every changing selection. If you are thinking about starting a marine aquarium or already have an established tank and want a quality store to help grown your tank, I suggest you do you and your fish a favor and check them out!!!

This store really is the best aquarium store in Orlando! They have amazing prices (no to mention their sales,) huge selection, friendly and knowledgable staff, and all the equipment you could hope for! I was looking for a specific angel that I couldn’t find anywhere else. When I asked them about it, they put me on a list and called me not to long later to let me know they found one they could order for me! They do that with pretty much anything you are looking for. If they can do something for you, they will. Never before have I seen this much personal attention paid to customers, and they do it all with prices you would see at a superstore! They have a ton of rare and weird fish, as well as rare corals for the experts, but they are also awesome with newbies. A guy I know wanted to start a saltwater tank after having fresh for years. They helped him get stuff that fit his budget, and walked him step by step through the process of having his own aquarium. They even gave him a card and told him to call and they would help him if he had any questions through the process. He was stunned! Safe to say, we won’t be shopping anywhere else. From experience, we know that everything we buy from there is going to be healthy and happy in our tanks. Stop by and visit Top Shelf! You won’t regret it!

Great place for many reasons. The guys that work here take the time to talk to a beginner like me and do not recommend stuff just to make money off of the ignorant. Also I have been to every other salt water aquarium store within 10 miles and these guys have the best prices on almost everything.
I definately recommend this place for a beginner or for you advanced aquarists. I’m not even sure that is a word or if it is how you spell it. Oh well, go here. Even if you aren’t interested in buying an aquarium it is a cool place to see some awesome tanks full of fish, invertibrates, and corals.

I’m always looking for something new to add to our saltwater tank. I actually found this store on Craigslist. Decided to take the drive and check them out. Wow it’s like a nightclub in there. The music is pumping and the lighting is glowing. These kids really took the time and put some money into building out this store. The tanks they have set up are beautiful! The guys are knowledgeable and super friendly. Their prices for salt and fresh water (yes I buy water) are actually cheaper than other places I’ve purchased from.
They farm most of their own coral to keep the prices low. They have a decent coral selection. If you check them out on Craigslist they are always having sales on the weekends. The fish selection is amazing, I’ve never seen so many unusual fish in one store. We bought a few corals and a sea urchin, they were very healthy and we didn’t have any problems with them in our tank.
This is a place worth checking out even if you’re just starting out.
