Meet the Business Owner

Susan V.

Business Owner

Eight months after losing my 10 year old rescue to cancer and my 15 year old lab mix to hip dysplasia, I adopted Willow, a fearful 15 month old black lab from a local rescue, Houndhaven. In order to build trust and develop a better understanding of Willow’s needs, I enrolled in the Animal Behavior College dog training course. At the same time Willow and I enrolled in a number of obedience and confidence building classes such as dock diving, search and rescue, Nose Work, and off leash training. The experience of working with a number of trainers and using various training methods and tools allowed me to experience and trust the power of positive reward based training. As a certified elementary school teacher and now a certified dog trainer I saw the opportunity to combine my two best loves into one very satisfying and rewarding career. Four years later, my dog Willow continues to be my inspiration. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with fellow dog lovers.
