One of my favorite parts of my new Winthrop neighborhood is this little liquor store and the family that owns it. Great selection, always easy to park, and best of all they are more than happy to order specialty items and cases! I had a particular brand of beer I had been hunting for for close to a year after having it on-​tap at some hipster beer garden, and they not only helped me identify it, but ordered a case on short notice in time for an upcoming holiday. For as long as I’m drinkin’, I’ll be buying from Swetts!

Swetts has the most screwed up layout for a liquor store, but the prices are good, they have a decent selection for it’s size, and they are always friendly.

Thank god for Swetts. Moving to Winthrop from downtown has been an adjustment, mainly because the limited variety of food and drink in close proximity compared to my past 6 years of living in Boston. Thank you Swetts for carrying some craft beer and non-​shitty beers, and something more than Budlight. The wine selection is also very nice for such a small store and they usually have things on sale and tastings! Staff is pleasant too.

Ok, now that we are past the name of the place, on to the review! Swetts is a tiny Liquor store in Winthrop Center. Plenty of street parking. For a very small family run Liquor store, they have quite the impressive selection. Knowledgeable about their wine, and they will order you something if they do not have it in stock. The beer and liquor is equally impressive.
If you are in town and you are going to one of the many BYOB restaurants in town, hit Swetts before you eat!
