History

Established in 1851.

Paul and Melanie Harris purchased Snow Squall, in April 2005 with the intent of providing an elegant and relaxing experience for their guests. The beautiful main house was built in 1851 and is named after the historic Clipper ship Snow Squall.

The reception area has a beautiful wooden floor made of «Kings Pine» — any wood of that size was to be shipped back to England for use by the King — apparently these planks did not make it. The stairs leading to the second floor are quite steep. The building was lovingly restored in the 1970s, and then renovated again in the 1990s by the Kornakis, who added a gazebo and barn and meticulously upgraded the property with charming lighting and fixtures. We have added to the landscaping, adding handmade stone wall, flowering apple trees, hostas, and new additions tenderly planted by Paul, the Constant English Gardener. The property is very peaceful and there are rocking chairs on the porches overlooking the well cared for grounds.
