Never thought I’d like «weird» mac and cheese. I got the Popeye… spinach and onions in my mac and cheese. WEIRD! It was SO GOOD! I totally recommend this place!

What a wonderful place! We stopped here for lunch today. The food was absolutely delicious. Our whole family finished all our food. I had the Popeye Mac and it was so substantial and filling, I kept forgetting that I was eating mac and cheese. We enjoyed the fun atmosphere. It was relaxing, fun, and delicious. We will certainly stop by again next time we’re in the area!

Best Mac n cheese I’ve had in my life. Nice variations of a classic dish. Tried the mama’s mac for my first visit. Very impressed!

This place is amazing been here several times food is always fresh and resturant is always clean including the restrooms decently priced for the dells.
My family loves eating here they have such a variety for such a compact menu, so accommodating, for food allergies and little kids. The customer service is always friendly and helpful .
A must go … if your in the area!!!

Came to the dells on vacation and saw this restaurant, had to try the chicken and ranch Mac n cheese. was delicious!!!

The set up: you give your order to a cashier, you pay, serve yourself a drink from the soda dispensers, and they bring your dish to you (once you wait for a seat). It was pretty busy when I went but the wait for a table was not long. I felt a bit claustrophobic as chair behind me was right up next to mine. I would also like some sort of other drink offered besides soda or beer. The Memphis Mac was amazing and I filled up on the «regular size». Perfect place for a quick lunch.

Great food! You will definitely wait in line, but completely worth it and people move in and out pretty quickly! I got the loaded baked potato and my friend got the cheeseburger Mac! Both Awesome! The staff work hard and quickly clean off the tables and serve the food!

Food was fast and hot. They were out of apple slices and peanut butter and jelly. This is the kiss of death if you have picky children. Grumpy seven year old until we bought him an ice cream cone. I had the chicken bacon and ranch. It was ok. The flavored blended together and it was a gooey mass. If you like that, great, but I think I would have done just as well with the plain. The breadstick was hard enough to crack teeth.

The Meal here was good and I don’t have really any complaints per se. I am a Mac and cheese lover and this was a cool place. Maybe it was all the praise I saw that got my expectations too high, but I just wasn’t that impressed.
Positives: the Mac and cheese chicken bacon ranch dinner I got was big enough for my wife and I and it tasted good, was fresh (burn your mouth fresh) and got to us quick.
Negatives: I would have liked a creamier cheese. Not a lot of chicken in our entrée, and the «bread» they gave us was hard as a rock.
I wouldn’t rule out going back, but id probably go for a lunch and get a smaller size. It just wasn’t that fulfilling as a dinner.

So not many places deserve 5 stars but this one would get 6 if it was an option. From the food to the service to the atmosphere everything was awesome. I tried the Hangover which only came in the Mac daddy size but was well worth the $ 9.99. If you like Mac n cheese this place won’t disappoint.

This place is awesome. I saw a good overall rating on Unilocal and stopped here. I’m glad I did. I got the chicken bacon ranch and it was superb. The servers were also very friendly and kind.
Believe the hype, if you’re a cheese lover this is the place to go to in the Dells.

We were driving through Wisconsin and figured when in Wisconsin eat cheese! Walking into Mac’s was like walking into a Pinterest page. It was so stylish inside with a trendy industrial type décor.
When we tried the food I was expecting something like Noodles that’s in Colorado. But Wow, this was totally awesome! Just when you think nobody can improve on the classic Mac n cheese, this was by far the best Mac n cheese we’ve ever had! Maybe I was unusually hungry today, but I seriously can’t believe how good it was!
I had the No. 4 — Popeye Mac and my husband had the No. 2 — Mama’s Mac. We both agreed we’ve never had better.
I would make a special trip back to Wisconsin Dells just for the Mac n cheese, yes I would!

I have never been to a restaurant that serves better Mac and Cheese. The Buffalo Chicken Mac is my favorite and the Mac Daddy is plenty of food!
I am a frequent visitor!

Delicious! Comfort food done right! Real cheesy Mac and cheese! Not so figure friendly, but if you’re on vacation calories don’t count. Enjoy!

This is literally the best Mac and cheese I have ever tasted. It has that homemade feel to it but high end restaurant quality. It’s just a cheese overload. Every noodle had cheese and there’s a fantastic layer of cheese on top. I’d drive 4 hours from Chicago just to get some of this Mac and cheese, it’s that good!

Best Mac n cheese I’ve ever had. We had the jalapeño popper Mac, cheeseburger Mac, and chicken bacon ranch Mac. All were delicious, just order to your taste.
Good service, super cheesy, not dry at all. Nice location to shop and see downtown. Get a window seat and enjoy the view. :-)

Simply loved their veggie Mac And Cheese with jalapeños. Tasted awesome! I’m not a big fan of macaroni, but this place definitely surprised me!

This was such a cool and different concept for a restaurant. Mac and cheese! I like mac and cheese and was excited to try this place for something different and what better place to try anything with cheese then wisconsin. It is a very clean and simple décor. There is a wisconsin themed mural on the wall when you walk in and some cute macaroni filled vases with flowers. You can sit in front of the window to people watch or just look at the shops when you eat. You order your food at the counter and it is brought out to your table. My daughter, neice and youngest son tried the chicken bacon ranch mac and fell in love with it. My other son tried it to but substituted fried hotdogs for the chicken. He also loved it and finished. My husband had the cheeseburger mac and cheese. It was a cheeseburger patty on top of the mac and cheese with a pickle spear on the side. He liked it too. I ordered the philly cheese steak mac. It had a good flavor and included steak, green peppers, onion and mushroom over the mac and cheese. The flavors combined nicely and I really liked it. The steak could have been a little better quality but it still worked nicely together and tasted good. We did notice on the menu it said the mac and cheese came with breadcrumbs on top and bread on the side. We got the bread which was a crispy small piece of bread sticking out of the side of the mac and cheese but none of us had bread crumbs on top of our dishes. I am not sure if they ran out or they forgot or what. It was never mentioned why they werent there but it was still delicious.

OK… I love mac and cheese. Especially good mac and cheese. Girlfriends and I went to Wis Dells for a girls weekend, and when we saw Mac’s pictures, we had to come! Each skillet of mac and cheese comes with perfectly crispy crostini that compliments anything that you have on the menu!
Baked Potato (No. 3) — one girlfriend had the loaded baked potato. I was a little weary because I thought the potato would take away from the noodle of the mac and cheese. I was wrong :) The amount of potato was just enough to make you feel like you were eating a giant baked cheesy potato :)
Hangover Mac (No.6) — other girlfriend had the hangover mac. I only had a small bite because i’m not a huge fan of mushrooms, but what I had was delish. What I really liked was that there was a good base of crispy hash browns, which gave the dish a different texture than you’d expect.
Memphis Mac (No. 9) — Pulled pork MAC AND CHEESE! Do I need to say anything else? A delish mac and cheese base topped with well smoked pulled pork tossed with a tangy bbq sauce! My only complaint? I ordered the small and should have ordered the bigger one!
Jalapeño Popper Mac (No. 5) — So we were only in the Dells for a weekend, but we loved Macs so much that we came back before we left! I had to have another flavor, so I tried the Jalapeño Popper Mac. Was it delicious, yes! Did it taste like mac and cheese? Not so much. So coming to macs, I obviously wanted mac and cheese (although they do sell other things!) The Jalapeño Popper mac tasted more like jalapeño poppers than mac and cheese. The noodles were somewhat lost in the creamy cream cheese mixture. What probably threw me off was that there was no cheddar in this mac and cheese. The base is pepper jack, mozzarella, and cream cheese… a perfect mixture for jalapeño poppers: P So again, it was super tasty, but if you’re looking for the traditional mac and cheese flavor, you won’t get it from the jalapeño popper: P

I’m sure nothing about this restaurant is healthy, but it sure was good. This is a fast casual restaurant with an interesting, cheese-​themed décor with lots of tables and bar-​stool seating available. I don’t think I saw any booths, and if you asked, I’m pretty sure you could push together two tables for larger parties.
Service was alright — but at least it was prompt. The cashier clearly knew what she was talking about and how to take an order (even from people who’d never ordered before), but she didn’t seem particularly excited or enthused about her job, but she was efficient. Our food was prepared pretty quickly, and much like other fast casual restaurants, we seated ourselves and the food was brought to our table by the number we had been given.
The food was definitely yummy, though. Be aware that it’s a LOT of cheese, and it’s very dense. Unless you’re super-​duper hungry, I’d recommend you stick with the smaller sizes as the larger size is definitely much larger. I was impressed that none of the macaroni or the cheese really «stuck» to the pain due to overcooking like some restaurants do. It all was perfectly cooked and was very delicious to munch on. They were happy to modify the meals for things like no bread crumbs if need be.
As a note, this place is located in downtown Dells without a private parking lot. This is super easy if you’re already in the Downtown. If not, you’ll have to hunt around for a bit of parking. Most of the parking is paid in the downtown area.
Would definitely come back. In fact, just writing about this place is making me want some again.
