Alex’s Pizzeria and Bar

Located in Downtown Wixom, Alex’s Pizzaria was an overall great experience. I had the chicken pasta and margarita. The pasta was merely ok. The noodles were cooked to perfection, the chicken was tender, but the sauce lacked flavor. I had to add salt and pepper to my dish and I am not one to add salt to any dish dining out. It was early dinner time on a weekday so the atmosphere was calm and quiet. The margarita was very good by the way. Matt was our server and he was polite and courteous and funny. From what I can see they have great pizza specials. However since I was alone the pizza would have been too much for myself. Thanks for the experience.

Love the pizza, hate the rest. Ppl that answer phone are rude and make you feel like you’re bothering them. The woman at the counter (3x now), not nice at all, never smiles and makes u feel like a bother.
Was excited to find decent Pizza close to me but dreading making the call stops me and I usually decide on something other than Pizza, somewhere else.
Come on Alex’s, is it really too much to ask for decent customer service. Smile or get a different job! It’s not that hard.

This was my favorite pizza place about 6 years ago. But over the years it’s gone downhill. Starting at the beginning, the phone call to place the order. I *hate* calling this place. The people who answer (the female especially) are beyond rude. They just sound angry at life and like they hate you for calling and everything you stand for. You call to place an order to give them your business and end up feeling like they hate you. It’s rough.
The pizza is nowhere near as good as it used to be. The crust is bland, sauce is lacking in flavor and though you will be charged for extra cheese, you will not get it. The chicken used to be really good. However the last few orders were dried out and cold. And one piece included the neck?!? What? Yeah, well, there goes that. The ribs, while the sauce is good, are so fatty. Not worth the money.
The Italian subs are the one and only thing that keep us ordering from Alex’s. Every once in a while we get a craving. So hubby calls in, deals with the ordering process, we ask for extra dressing and they don’t like that. For kicks we order onion rings as well and they are usually out of the park. Maria’s cheesecake, when they have it, is awesome and a huge order.
So the two stars are for the Italian subs, onion rings, and also the delivery guys. I wish they answered the phones and took orders cause they are alway so nice. But as a pizza place, they fall short. This and the poor customer service is what has kept us from trying their sister restaurant, Volaire.

I would have given Alex’s 4 stars but they have this policy that says your have to spend at least 3 dollars in order to use your card. Not a huge inconvenience, but an inconvenience nontheless. They have slices there for 1 and 2 dollars, but if you don’t have cash you may have to pass on or over buy those to meet the card requirement. Had the pepperoni pizza slice and it was definitely tasty and the weren’t stingy with the sauce. Will def be back! Check them out!

Decent pizza, clean restaurant, amazing server. Gabby is on top of her game. The place is laid back, updated, and nice. I have not formed a true opinion of Alex’s as of yet, as I’ve only been there twice. Each time I’ve been there Gabby has served me and my party. She is fast, curtious, and nice.

They have the BEST subs out of every place I have ever eaten subs. They are made on homemade bread and so huge 1 can feed 2 people and still have leftovers. Their desserts, I think, are all homemade, also. Great place for dining in or take out!!!

First off, the pizza here is very good. However, lately, they cannot seem to get the food out in a timely manner. We waited for over 30 minutes for a pepperoni pizza. The response from the server… «I can’t make it cook any faster». Bad customer service.

We have been going to Alex’s since the beginning of time and it was Bravo’s at Pontiac Trail & Welch. We love the pasta, breadsticks & cheese dip, chicken, salad, and subs and most of all the family who runs this place. They are always so nice!

Great subs. Great chicken. Lousy pizza. We have food delivered to our office about 2 times per week from Alex’s, and delivery is always prompt, and the delivery people are very friendly. I have been inside this place just once and was very impressed with the waitstaff.

Was really disappointed the perch dinner wasn’t fresh water perch. Ocean perch taste like crap and cost about ¹⁄₃ the price at any market that sells fish. Server acted like she didn’t know there was a difference between the two.
Stuffed mushrooms are cooked better at Burger King.
For $ 30 I wasn’t expecting anything non-​fresh. Everything felt like it came from the freezer isle at Meijer.
Next time I will just go to Panera bread.

The first time I ordered there was last night for carry out. They had a weekly Wednesday special for half off any XL pizza. I believe it was an «Alex Special», which is basically a deluxe pizza. I also got a burger and fries, as well as a couple cookies for my kids. We were not impressed at all.
The pizza had almost no cheese and was under cooked. Although it tasted OK, the toppings would completely fall off each slice. Without the special, this pizza would normally cost $ 21.99. There is no way I would ever pay that much for a pizza like this one.
As for the burger, I could tell the burger patty was a processed frozen burger patty. Also, the bun was cold and dry. Would have been much better if it was toasted. Also, I think they added the ketchup under the cheese and then melted the cheese, which made it watery.
Finally, the M&M chocolate chip cookie was frozen and had no taste. The consistency was not of a cookie, but of a horrible piece of cake.
We ordered at about 7:30 for a late dinner. If it wasn’t so late and my family wasn’t so hungry, I would have definitely taken the food back for a full refund.

Good pizza and lasagna. Spaghetti good also would recommended to friends and family. They have been around for years. Prices ok

This place was an amazing find. Everything I’ve tried here was really really good. Especially the cheese ravioli and chocolate cake is to die for. Can’t wait to go back on my next trip to Michigan.

A takeout menu you’ll want to hold onto.
The food here is incredible. I recently saw them hanging a banner about «awarded best ribs in michigan» or something along those lines and I absolutely believe they won that award. Their ribs, to start, are phenomenal and the fact that you can have such high quality ribs *delivered* to you, with fries and bread, is such an awesome deal. Right up there with their ¹¹⁄₁₀ ribs is their ¹¹⁄₁₀ fish and chips. The best word I can think of to describe that first bite into their fish and chips is orgasmic. Unforgivably unhealthy but it makes you shiver with how good it is. Their fried chicken, while not 11/​10, is still fantastic if that’s your poison. But honestly, their pizza, while being alright, isn’t as good as what I’ve listed above. Weird for a pizzeria’s pizza to be a side note to the glory that can be found on the rest of their menu.
The salads aren’t worth your trouble, really. Nor is their pasta. The frozen goodies they have upfront aren’t really worth your trouble either. All of this is available for delivery but should you choose to dine-​in, you have a sports bar type of deal with a nice outdoor patio setup. Their bread fresh out of the oven with dip seemed better than what you get delivered, but maybe that’s just the freshness. I didn’t look into it too much but if you’re into wine, it seemed like they had a lot of wine sitting about. Maybe if you’re a sports guy looking to enjoy the game but your wife is more withheld and enjoys her wine, this place can offer the best of both?
In closing, some of their items aren’t worth your money but the ribs, fish and chips and chicken is absolutely worth your money.

We like there salads, desserts and breadsticks with cream cheese dip. The regular pepperoni and cheese pizza is good but we don’t care for any of there specialty pizzas.

Maria’s desserts are the best! Anyone who says they aren’t obviously doesn’t have a sweet tooth. Food is awesome too. Sausage and peppers we always get catered to my family parties and they never are a let down! Also recommend getting some slices for lunch. Delish.

I hate when a really good place decides to try a save a few bucks my sub seemed like it was missing half of the meat total bummer. the chicken was really good the bread sticks and cheese dip not bad.
Come on Alex not you too! If you have to find a way to payoff the beach house or whatever just screw thous fish eating fucks and leave my meat alone. Hehe I said my meat: D

We were in there on a snowy night. The place was pretty full. Our service was good, but I’d say the waiter wasn’t ‘smooth’ enough for a more upscale place, he was a bit awkward at times.
Bistro is a good description of the atmosphere. Two TV’s, one over the bar and another at one end.

Love this place. I’ve had almost everything on the menu. The deep dish pizza is great. Love the cheese Raviolli with meat sauce, and a meatball on the side!
It’s family owned and operated and you will always see Alex and his wife Maria there!
Lunchtime slices and pasta are a must too!
Great selection of drinks at the bar!
