History

Established in 1962.

At General RV, we’re proud of our more than 50 years of family ownership. We take pride in it because family doesn’t just describe us: it describes how we feel about our customers. When you do business with General RV, you join our family. In 1962 our founder, Abe Baidas, took his family out West on a camping trip. He enjoyed it so much that he didn’t just want to own an RV — he wanted to help others have that same experience. We’re passionate about helping our customers experience the adventure and

family fun that made such an impression on Abe decades ago. Much has changed since that inaugural camping trip. We began as a trailer rental business run

out of a gas station in Detroit, and now we’re America’s premier full-​service RV dealership, with 11 locations in 5 states and more RVs in stock than any family-​owned RV dealer. What hasn’t changed, just as Abe preached to his first salespeople, we believe that if we treat each customer honestly and fairly, we’ll have a friend for life.
