Let’s preface this with I have worked many years in retail, so I get that there are times when things can busy at any moment, and check-​out lines can grow in seconds. But I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen it this bad at any place I’ve worked at in my experiences.
I walk up to the long line to find someone helping a customer with a return perhaps so everyone else was waiting in one lane. As we’re standing there though there was another associate stocking candy. I was thinking at first maybe she was really concentrating on her job and didn’t notice (no one seemed to tell her) but, then she did but seemed distant (I thought, oh maybe there’s an off chance she’s new and doesn’t know how to be a cashier). Now the girl who was helping the other customer was asked to keep ringing and took some folks over. The best part was the one who was stocking candy went over to check another employee’s lunch bag — and you guessed it — she, Jill, is a manager.
Meanwhile I had two oblivious ladies ahead of me in line (one told the cashier Gigi, at the end of the transaction that she was a teacher, thanks, and then proceeded to pay with a check — which for $ 30 had to be co-​signed by Jill, the manager — sigh. The next was an older lady who kept thinking we were at Jo-Ann’s, and handed the cashier a coupon and after tearing it off, then realized it was expired anyway, so while the transaction was over they still had a conversation as if there wasn’t 5 people behind me). So instead of motioning to me, a polite way of saying «move along» to the customer they keep going, so me and my three paint brushes barged in, not sorry. Of course that must have been seen as rude because I barely got a hello never mind asking for my rewards card. At the end of my short transaction I was handed the receipt but the bag was just left on the counter with the handle next to the cashier. So incredibly rude, as well as unprofessional. And either Gigi is a nickname or Janice was ringing on someone else’s drawer that day.
Jill on the other hand was helping the cashier on lane 1 because their customer’s gift card wasn’t working. Here’s a tip, when there’s a good handful of folks waiting to be checked out, and one of your two lanes are closed because something is askew, don’t hold up the line. Immediately call someone else over (the workers who never asked if I needed help could’ve taken a break from talking about shelving) or void it and call from another register.
Let’s just say I won’t be returning to this crap location, and I only went as a last resort because I thought they sold something I needed for a class. I should have just left the brushes but sometimes you slow down to take a good look at a wreck as you drive by…

Update: Service has very much improved since last visit. However, they still ask for your phone number before checking you out.

Great art store in the Woburn area.
Conveniently located on Elm Street in Woburn, next to Stop&Shop, right off Route 128, exit 35 for Route 38 in Woburn.
Friendly staff throughout the store, who had many recommendations for me as well as b eing able to help me find the chalkboard stuff as well as the paint section (as the layout the Woburn AC Moore is different than most of the other stores). Had a good selection of all items (once I found them), and would be a place I would return for more art stuff in the future. Better than the old, not-​great Michaels on Cambridge Street in Burlington.

This store is run by a complete moron she is an old bitch women I got rude service at the check out so I asked to speak with manager she was one of the rudest people are have ever meet what a joke.

Had a great shopping experience here — found everything I was looking for. The shelves were fully stocked & I got lots of ideas for Christmas gifts. The staff was very helpful & polite. It was busy but they opened new registers as the lines got longer.

Needed some photo frames and a friend told me about AC Moore. I had never been at the store before and i was surprised by their variety of everything. Planing on going back when i will probably be able to write a more detailed review.

This big box craft store has a huge variety of craft supplies for painting, knitting, crochet, scrapbooking, jewelry making, cake decorating, candle making, tie dye, duct taping, and more. Despite its size it’s really crowded, especially the front of the store which always seems totally disorganized. Most of the merchandise is inexpensive, so it’s an economical choice if you have kids who like to craft. Once they turn into serious artists, though, you may need to look elsewhere for better quality supplies.
I think the best department in terms of the scope of supplies is probably scrapbooking, and if you are into DIY for a wedding, or you like flower arranging, there’s also a lot for you. The yarn area is pretty lame Craft Yarn Council stuff, there is almost nothing in the way of sewing and quilting, the toys and kits for kids are pretty chintzy, and so are the jewelry supplies. It seems like there used to be a much greater selection of frames off the rack and even the custom frame options are kind of limited. The book selection is hit-​or-​miss.
Regarding service, some of the staff are more professional than others. It’s in a large supermarket plaza so there’s plenty of parking and the location is very convenient, just off I-​95.

I wish there were more locations, but I’d travel to get here… I’ve taken lessons, shopped, make & take… you name it! Always feel welcome, staff is friendly, depending on what you are getting prices are reasonable and if not, there is always coupons, coupons, coupons!

I went into this store looking for something very simple, which I saw on display. I looked for it myself, had no luck and asked for help, A young guy tried helping me but couldn’t (he was very nice, not helpful but nice) and then he asked someone else and they were rude to him, and then didn’t offer any help. I had found one item that I needed so I went to the register and the person in front of me was talking to the cashier a lot so the other one came up and it happened to be the same person that the young guy asked for help. I seriously felt like I ruined her entire night by having to get rung up by her. I rarely go into craft stores and when I do it’s usually Michael’s which is where I will go from now on. I also rarely write bad reviews unless I feel that it is necessary!

As a last minute Halloween shopper, I figured I’d stop in AC Moore to see what they have. Well, I found some stuff that I liked and got in line. The line was probably 6 deep and one cashier was working.
Also, they have things with a 50% off sign directly in front of them, but then they don’t ring up correctly. Bummer…
Maybe it was just a Freaky Friday, but I hope I never have to go back.

We were in here the other day looking for craft-​stuff. What can I say? I’m a crafty guy! Ha! Ah but I digress…
The only competitor to AC Moore in the area is Michaels, and they are quite similar. We were looking for frames and paints and canvases. Along with some cake-​decorating stuff. Sometimes I think stuff is expensive here, but sometimes you can find good deals on pans or yarn. When you’re in this store — you will probably think you are in Michael’s, they are so similar. But I’m always glad to see these places around. You always find something you need here.

I had one of the best experiences at this place yesterday, so I’m on a little crafting high…
A.C. Moore is great because: a) they always have sales! I mean always. And not just on crappy stuff, like ribbon, but good stuff. I mean seriously, what do people do with all of that ribbon?!? I digress. Yesterday, I went in for polymer clay; assorted color Sculpty on sale for $ 0.99*, marked down from $ 3.14. The time before that, I was in for oil paints… on sale! I LOVE that. b) while, the array isn’t quite as vast as you would find at a one-​off specialty craft store, it is quite expansive for a large chain craft store. c) there are always random middle-​aged men shopping here. I’m not sure why, but it makes me giggle. d) yesterday, the staff was incredibly helpful.
* I did not realize, until this very moment, that my keyboard does not have a cent symbol option. Proving that no matter how much dye I use, the blonde still shines through…

Totally inconvenient, but a great store. Lots of yarn, lots and lots and lots of beads, beading kits, cute skull iron on things, those hideous fake flowers, make your own shrinky dink kits, resin, resin molds, foil, all sorts of stuff for jewelry making… They have a great selection, the store is huge, the staff is decent… As a beginning crafter, they are great both in their diversity and price.
I don’t love their yarn selection, though I think that’s because I am just more into smaller yarn specialty shops, but if you’re looking for simple knitting supplies, you’ll be all set.

This is probably tne closest AC Moore to my home and I wish that there was another closer. They have a wonderful selection of items for artists and hobby enthusiasts alike.
Being a cross stitcher and knitter and soon to be crocheter a place like this essential. Especially when I can find Kreinik Blending Filament for $ 1.79!!!

I am in this store about once or twice a week. It is very close to work and I am in here purchasing supplies for multiple arts and craft projects.
The staff here are super friendly and often help me find the item I cannot get my hands on.
Pretty good selection. I can get in and out in usually minutes which is a huge bonus for me.
It always smell great in there. Must be those cinnamon brooms!

This location of the chain store is large and has a wide variety of merchandise for all your crafty needs. I do find their stamp assortment to be a lot of the same stuff. There isn’t a lot of fresh merchandise that comes in, beyond all the seasonal stuff.
Still you’ll find a lot of staples for crafting which is also useful. Depending on what you’re purchasing, prices can be great to mediocure. Keep an eye on on their sales though because that is when you can really get good deals.
I like to check out their sales aisle too, because sometimes you can find decent and useful items at a reduced price.
The store does have variety… woodworking, painting, knitting, scrapbooking, baking, etc. Half the time the staff is knowledgable and the other half the time they look at you strange… I’m guessing that’s mostly the younger crowd who doesn’t really know the merchandise well.
Either way, a decent place to wander and get ideas, or pick up tools and supplies for getting crafty.
