Therapeutic Foster Care gives at risk children a chance to be nurtured and supported while working on emotional issues. We contract with DCF and DMH to provide structured homes for special needs children, ages 0 – 22. We mentor teen moms, teaching parenting skills and independent living skills.
We provide free comprehensive training and ongoing 24 hour support, paid liability insurance and paid respite days to families who provide foster care. Children have health insurance and receive clothing stipends. Exceptional support includes weekly in home visits and monthly professional development.
We are actively recruiting all types of families to provide in home foster care. Some of our children will be reunited with family and others need long term support. You can offer a better life for children who need hope for a brighter future.

History
Established in 1912.
The Devereux Foundation is a national private, non-profit which traces its roots back to 1912 when Helena Devereux, a Philadelphia educator became a pioneer in the field of special educatio, operating on the premise that each student could grow in an environment tailed to their needs. Her philosophy, «every child is a program» continues to be the driving force in designing child specific treatment plans for all Devereux clients.
In 1965, Devereux expanded to serve the children of Massachusetts with a residential program and later Therapeutic Foster care was added to provide a full continuum of care for those clients who need these services. Therapeutic Foster Care offices are located in Metro-Boston area, Central Mass., W. Springfield and Warwick, Rhode Island.
