We believe the only way going green will succeed is if we allow people to save money, energy, and the environment.

We’ll help you understand your home energy loss starting with a Free Home Energy Assessment. On the spot, we’ll offer you a series of recommendations on how to reduce your footprint. The recommendations are in the form of insulation and weatherization, solar panels, and window or HVAC replacement along with accurate cost and savings. We specialize in the insulation and weatherization and will help coordinate with our partners to provide solar, HVAC, and window replacement services.

As a home energy consultant we simply provide all the information necessary to allow you to make an informed decision that’s best for you.

History

Established in 2008.

HomeWorks has been in the energy efficiency industry since 2008 when the founder, Scott Veggeberg, realized he could make a huge social impact by helping customers understand their home energy loss.

At the end of 2012, Scott’s son, Max Veggeberg, decided he wanted to go into business with his dad and use his business experience to help grow and build the family-​owned business. The father and son duo run the company with the same mentality: focus on the customer’s needs and the rest will follow.

Scott:

Scott has always loved fixing things, and after the great dot-​com meltdown in the 2000’s, he finally got the chance to renovate his house. After seeing how the addition he built used more energy to heat than the rest of his house, he realized there was a huge opportunity to help people understand their energy usage and transformed the company, dedicating the next 3 years to learning how energy is consumed in homes.

Max:

Max graduated from Boston University a semester early with a business degree focused in Finance, Operations, and Entrepreneurship. After reviewing job opportunities and working with a few Boston based startups he realized what he wanted more than anything was to use his business knowledge to help his old man focus and grow his company.

Yesterday we had an energy audit from HomeWorks Energy Inc. Will Medugno and Jay Darrow were outstanding. They made my wife and I feel comfortable and safe with the audit and recommendations they made. They were able to answer our questions fully. The free items such as LED lights and a power strip were a great bonus. We would recommend this company and either one of the individuals to do an audit for anyone. We are awaiting and evaluation of our heating system by one of their co workers. I have no doubt that will be excellent also. Peter Nowak

We had a great assessor who knew what he was talking about. The contractors adequately installed insulation in my garage ceiling, their job made all the more difficult by the bitter February cold. They didn’t complain, and worked as quickly and efficiently as possible. There were a few minor bumps in the road all in all, but the excellent customer service cleared up the problems more than sufficiently.

Ok, okay, Homeworks Energy has redeemed themselves. A month after my initial Unilocal review, I was contacted by the manager. He sent someone out immediately to finish the assessment and schedule the work. It certainly didn’t hurt that he was easy on the eyes and extremely tolerant of my super affectionate, nosey cat. The work was completed this past Monday and I am very satisfied.
On a side note; Homeworks Energy sent a gift basket for my cat, to apologize for the disconnect in scheduling. Thanks Chris! You’re a super dude!

I would like to thank Home Works Energy for an excellent job. We had a home energy assessment and learned our old boiler failed a Carbon Monoxide test. We then decided now was the time to replace our Boiler and Water Heater. In stepped Kevin Hanson HVAC Specialist, who guided us through the whole process. He gave us options on a new boiler and we very happy with what we chose. He took care of making sure our install went smoothly as well as having all the paper work done for our rebates from Mass Save. He answered all our questions and was very prompt getting back to us. Kevin was also very kind to our 7 year old son.. . answering all of his questions as well. We are very happy with our experience with Home Works Energy and especially Kevin Hanson.

So this an updated review from my previous one. I’m giving them 5 stars for excellent customer service. Upon seeing my review, Max, one of the owners, got in touch with me and scheduled a time to come to my house and talk about the issues I had previously. This doesn’t change the experience I had, but I’m happy to know they are doing their best to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

We had an old house (more than 100 years old) We hired Scott and his team did blow-​in installation for our building two years ago. Instead of replacing any clapboards which was split or crack during the installation, they just nailed them back in, and the water got into the wall and rotted the wood. We have to spend thousands of dollars to repair the damage this summer. It is not worthy of the money

Would have loved to post an amazing review here AND:
–called 10 minutes past committed appt. time to say he was running late.
–recommitted to a new time and never showed, never called.
He eventually did come by and provide an estimate (7 hours later) but after seeing poor grades on Angie’s list for no-​shows I couldn’t put my faith in this guy to do the job.
Bummer.
