Nolan’s Brick Oven Bistro

the ratings for this place are really surprising. i never write reviews, but they really deserve better than 3.5 stars. we stopped by after an impromptu sunday hike nearby. we were looking for a place we could grab a quick bite and a beer. the other places with better reviews were all closed, so we decided to suck it up and were prepared for a 3 star experience with mediocre pizza and shitty service. luckily, most Unilocal reviewers are overly critical and complain about the most absurd things. this place was great. we were seated immediately, service was super friendly and attentive, drinks were good, and the pizza was phenomenal. i generally don’t like thin crust but it was really really yummy. we ordered our own favorite (sausage & banana peppers with fresh mozza) and it was perfect. would definitely make the 45 minute drive to come back for another lovely sunday afternoon meal.

I can’t attest for how it is to dine-​in because we got Nolan’s pizza to go when visiting Wolfeboro last week. The taste was excellent! We are very spoiled with the brick oven options living in Brooklyn, NY. Nolan’s can hold it’s own against any we get down here.

They serve the fried calamari with marinara and it comes with a side dish of melted butter. Not too many places in this area serve it like this, and it is very much appreciated. Besides the calamari I have had their pizza and salad and a couple of other dishes. The 5 stars is because of the good food and exceptional and friendly service.

The food here is very good, but pricey considering the food choices.

They have the only wood fired oven in this town and celebs like Mr Fallon and Mr Romney are regulars when in the area. Also their Italian menu is excel ante’

Best food in town. Yummy cocktails. Great people. The bruschetta is a meal on its own. Chicken piccata A+. The chicken parm sandwich is a winner.

Wow, have things gone down hill at Nolan’s. I used to really like this place but my last couple of experiences have changed my opinion.
Orders don’t come to the table together (twenty minutes between food orders and pizza orders), the wait staff seems indifferent to customers and this restaurant may have the dubious honor of serving me the worst steak I’ve ever had. They do have very good pizza and tolerable Italian food the rest of the menu is awful.
The last time I was in for a sit down dinner the service was very poor. After forty five minutes I asked our waitress to check on our order since the couple next to us who came in after we did had finished appetizers and was working on their main course. The waitress came back and told me that we had only been in the restaurant for thirty minutes and our order had been in the kitchen for only twenty eight minutes. Both her times were wrong. I love it when the wait staff slaps around a customer. Then comes the «Rib Eye» steak, a generous quarter inch cut, sixty percent fat, burnt to perfection.
Not a lot of restaurant choices in Wolfeboro so this place survives, get the pizza it is very good but resist the urge to try anything else.

We were nine 9 showing up to dinner, they told us they couldn’t accommodate us .
We end up ordering PIZZE to go. The PIZZE were excellent and tasty as good as New York State PIZZE.

Quality food. The vegetable pasta dish was perfectly prepared and had excellent taste. Although pricey, it was worth it. After all, it’s in wolfeboro. It was a big portion, but still over priced. The atmosphere was delightful and welcoming. Would definitely go back here.

Fun place, good food, nice staff.

My husband and I have been fans of Nolans since moving to the area this summer. We love their pizza and fun atmosphere– plus they have a great wait staff.
We decided to hold our rehearsal dinner party there after looking at lots of area restaurants. When we first met with the owner Caleb, we were thrilled about how accommodating he was to what we were looking for and suprised at how easy he made it. We had our party there in the beginning of October in the back room– it was perfect!!! The food– from the apps, to the salads and pizza, were delicious! Our friends and family raved about it. Our waitress’s were quick, thorough and super nice. They didn’t Rush us– and made us feel as if we were dining at home.
The best part is all the attention to detail that Caleb put forth– signs welcoming us, warm apps waiting on tables and fresh flowers.
Wedding planning can be stressful enough– so we were super thrilled that Nolans took some stress away and helped us create a night we will always remember! We highly recommend Nolans pub for any party!
