Lucky Larry’s Lucheonette

Reminded me of the old days when luncheonettes were prevalent. They made a slight mistake on one sandwich was quickly and generously corrected. They were polite efficient and welcoming. The place was clean decaf coffee fresh and the price was right. 2 new customers here which will spread the word. Reverend Joseph Anthony

I actually found this place on Unilocal and decided to check it out while I was in the area. I don’t know that it offers anything especially original, but for a quick breakfast spot — it’s perfect! The food was delicious. Got for the Bacon, Egg, & Cheese sandwich! #Delish
It’s got a small dining area which is why I wouldn’t give it 5 stars. I’d like to be comfortable and have space while I eat my food. This place just seems too small. Great food, great service!

Lucky Larry’s is definitely one of the best places in Bergen county hands down! Everything on the menu is great and tasty. Food is prep fresh everyday, and there lunch specials are always on point. You won’t be disappointed.

Chef Owned and operated. Every time my girlfriend and I come in, he is there to greet us, take our order, and cook us up some hot breakfast. Extremely friendly environment and delicious food EVERYTIME! It’s our go to breakfast spot in town. Highly recommend lucky larrys

We order take out from here often and it never disappoints; the Sausage, Pepper, Onion and Egg Sandwich is fantastic! Fast delivery and always friendly service.

I had the bacon & eggs and they were perfect! My husband had the Virginia ham panini. Delicious! It’s our time here, will definately be back. I like the ambience & the friendly folks here.

One gem of a place! Do not pass up going here, VERY courteous. and friendly staff, amazing food and very clean inside. Lucky Larry is a parrot (I think) but I will be back here again. This is the way you run a quality business. Very impressed.

down to earth people who work here! very friendly! the prices are unbeatable, $ 5 for an egg salad sandwhich is right up my alley. comes with a pickle and a small serving of mac salad. the egg salad was fresh and had tons of mayo, i just wish they packed more on the roll. my friend swears by the breakfast (bacon egg cheese) sandwhiches.
when you check in, you get one of their home made drinks which is amazing!

We need to temper expectations when we’re talking about a local luncheonette. It’s not 5-​star anything, but it’s not supposed to be! It’s supposed to be a quick stop with good food and good prices. And in this regard, Larry’s Luncheonette succeeds.
Larry’s serves breakfast and lunch in typical Jersey fashion: Taylor Ham, buffalo chicken, Italian meats, and Stewart’s sodas to boot. The entire menu is reasonably priced and the portions are modest but fair. You can’t accuse Larry’s of skimping on your meal, but these aren’t diner portions.
Overall, I think Larry’s is a good stop for anyone in the area looking for a quick and inexpensive bite. This family owned and operated business has a great feel. It proves that good service and quality ingredients go very far. Anyone drawn to this place because of their Unilocal rating will not be disappointed.

Taylor ham, eggs, cheese, salt, pepper mayonnaise on a 6 inch is my top choice each morning when I grab my breakfast here right before work. Their food is great! The coffee is always fresh! Staff are very humbled and friendly. I always feel welcomed, and comfortable when eating here. Very great place to grab something to eat at. Got my five stars easily.

As a local teacher, we love ordering lunch from our friends at Lucky Larry’s. The food is always fresh, our orders are delivered perfectly and the staff is super nice! That being said, we recently had them cater a staff luncheon and it was great. They gave us a nice selection of wraps, paninis, and hero sandwiches which everyone raved about. To accommodate our vegan guests, they had cold salads made without meat/​dairy which everyone was impressed by, including the carnivores! The owner was really easy to work with… it’s definitely a great place for breakfast & lunch!

I eat at Larry’s almost daily. Their food is my favorite of all the local spots near my office in Moonachie. The ingredients they use are always fresh and I never left dissatisfied with the food or the service.

Quick and friendly service. Two of us ate for under $ 12. Very clean and convenient. Will definitely come again.

Staff here is incredibly friendly and accommodating. They have a few tables for those who wish to dine in. Coffee and tea are self serve and offer flavored Coffee Mate flavors and milk. The prices are extremely affordable but service is a tad slow.
I truly tried to fall in love with this place but it just doesn’t do it for me. Hash browns and sausage are both frozen, which is pretty disappointing. Food is mediocre at best, nothing to brag about or crave. For the portions they serve, I feel like the bread over powers the goodness in the actual sandwich itself. This place is usually busy so make sure you have time to spare and patience.

Thank goodness for the internet, or else I’d have never found this place.

After looking at mouth watering photo’s for two days on Unilocal and reading all their reviews, I finally decided all this food porn was enough! I had to have the real deal! So must admit I was going into this place with good expectations. My prior expectations before reading Unilocal weren’t much because I had no idea they were under new management. Used to come here under the old régime and didn’t remember anything exceptional or notable.
The place has changed a lot since they are under new management. The place has a warmer feel décor wise. It was a little dingy back in the day.
Not being in the mood for a bagel I opted for a roll sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese. Also checked in on Unilocal and got one of their Lucky Larry brand homemade sodas for free as is their deal.
Unilocal was on point on how they cook their bacon perfectly! Every bit of the sandwich was well put together. I’m probably the only person in New Jersey that doesn’t like Taylor ham sandwiches (GASP). But I’m eager to give that a shot one day and see if I could be converted. Also seems like their other breakfast and lunch items may be worth a shot. I’m really eager to try more stuff from there since my sandwich really hit the spot!
As for their soda I opted to try the chocolate egg cream flavor. Love it! It has a nice creamy flavor with a chocolate over tone. I think it’s great that restaurants make and serve their own sodas. Bruno’s pizza does this too. Can never go wrong with homemade sodas. They make a lot of unique flavors at this spot that I’m also eager to try some.
So I must admit this place did live up to my expectations. Can’t wait for my next trip back to try something new!

So Leone’s has been under new ownership for some time now and the name has changed to Lucky Larry’s. This has been my local go-​to spot for breakfast and occasionally lunch for several years now.
Lucky Larry’s is a great little local spot with good prices, a great owner and staff and an interesting group of regular customers. For me, this is «as good as it gets» for a local spot. If you are in the area its a great spot to stop in.

I got the taylor ham, egg, and cheese here and it was sooooo good! I love that it isnt as greasy and thick as some places make it. I feel like its satisfying without the guilt of eating such a sandwich. The staff was super friendly and prices were very reasonable. They have a few tables if you do want to eat there. Great breakfast spot!
