Absolutely horrible! I took my two little boys for a trim and honestly I could of done a better job. My boys both ended up getting cut with the clippers and uneven hair. Horrible will never visit again.

On an average day find 5 student-barbers going at it(sporting maroon-colored coats), assisted with 2 teacher-barbers on the side(black coats). Place quite decent. Signs posted prohibiting profanity, ‘haircuts cost $ 5, but students must earn service-tips’. Additionally, fine black-wholesome background music(viz. — funk, jazz, soul, r&b). Mr. Mac(owner and co-operator), very sharp, classy, humble, and skilled gentleman. Conclusion: for a regular visit every other week for edge-up, the students tend to get job done, but for future, need to improve on cutting down on the waiting-time.

I’ve tried this place once about six years ago and got a horrible haircut. I figured I would try it again last week and give them the benefit of the doubt and due to the fact that it’s cheap($ 5 plus tip) and I get a pretty simple haircut(One and half clip buzz all the way around. Basically I just need someone with a steady hand to give me an even cut)…again I got a horrible uneven haircut. I guess it depends on which«student» cuts your hair since it is a pretty transient work/learning environment. I guess the saying that you get what you pay for applies in this case. My recommendation would be to spend the extra money and go to one of the many good professional barbers in town. I’ve gone to the Ashdale Barber Shop on Dale Blvd on a few occasions. Most of the barbers don’t speak English well, but they still manage to do a good job for $ 14 plus tip. Plus you get a hot towel and head massage.
