Chris Michael’s Steakhouse and Lounge

If you’re an old business guy looking for something similar to (but not quite) a classic NY style steakhouse to impress business associates this is the place for you. The dark wood paneled walls, and mandatory valet parking will make this place seem more impressive than it is.
Me and a friend decided to go out for an impromptu dinner and drinks on a random Monday night. I was forced to valet my car even though nobody was there. When I asked if I could park myself somewhere the 16 year old parking cars told me to park across the street at K&G (I should have left right there). Rather than take a chance of getting my car towed I reluctantly left the car with the valet. We were one of three tables seated. Our waiter had zero personality. When it was time to order he comes over and goes ‘what do you want’? WTF!
I decided to order the kale and quinoa salad with grilled chicken. Just beware if you add grilled chicken to a salad they used a lot of curry seasoning on it. I like curry but I know not everyone does and the menu said nothing about it. My friend enjoyed her risotto. We decided to order dessert. Our super awesome waiter practically threw the dessert menus at us. We ordered the drowned ice cream which was supposed to be vanilla ice cream, espresso and a shot of liquor. What we ended up with was some weird crunchy ice cream and the waiter splattered espresso all over my friend as he poured it over top. Not once did he come over and question why we didn’t touch our dessert. And he never apologized for spilling espresso everywhere.
While we enjoyed our meals, the service and valet parking completely turned me off. There are much better options in the area.

We had our daughters college graduation celebration at Chris Michaels Steak House. Everything was perfect! Beautiful décor. The buffet was amazing from the antipasto, pasta, chicken, veggies and of course the steak was excellent. We enjoyed the sangria :-) The staff went above and beyond. Everyone had a great time. Thank you Chris Michaels. We will be back. 5 stars!

I really don’t have anything much. This review is simply for their bar/​lounge. I’ve never been in their restaurant but décor looks nice there.
Anyway yeah, nothing impressive, nothing to complaint either. It wasn’t that crowded that night. DJ /​music was okay.
Bathrooms could use some cleaning tho’, tissues were all over the wer floor. Definately needed some air freshener in there as well. But overall it was an okay venue.

This place was off the hook. We came to watch the Canelo/​Khan Fight. Great atmosphere and crowd. I would definitely come back here with a group of friends.

happy hour stop and this has been appreciated. The selection of wines it is fine even if the waiter try to push a Tuscany wine. Thanks I am from Tuscany do not insist :-)… Anyway the oregon Pinot Grigio it is not bad.
We have taken 2 soups (onion French sounds tasty) mine with pees quite good and 2 rib eye very juicy. At the end a very good place to get a steak

Mandatory valet!- awful.
Coat check– Why charge? Not me.
DJ didn’t know it’s crowd.- very disappointing.
A Lot of cougars.
A Lot of childish men.
Dancers on stage– cute.
Slow service.
Crab cake, tuna salad, kobe meatballs and sushi — all mediocre style.
Grey Goose on the rocks was probably the only treat.

Absolutely one of my ATF… Steaks are delicious… And most on their menu in general:) love sitting at the bar, great atmosphere, owners and managers are always super friendly making sure u are all taken care of… Had a couple of fights over time with my BF — over really craving to go here… :) u know that feeling when u really crave something?:)
Simply loving this place… Nothing fancy, just great place to relax and have some good food))

Chris Michael;s Steakhouse… I have now been here twice, and only to drink. The first time, I went to the bar, just to the right as you enter the restaurant. The bartender was friendly, creative and we had a great cocktail.
Last night was the second time I went, and this time went to the disco. I feel like it was a great place to people watch… Eclectic group of people. The music was good, the drinks stiff, but didn’t see a lot of people dancing, which was the reason for going. I’d like to try it again, maybe on a Saturday night.

I’ve come the the lounge area a few times to party but always wanted to try the food, glad I finally did.
We came for the porterhouse which was cooked to perfection and had great flavor. Ordered mashed potatoes and creamed spinach for the sides, both were excellent. I really liked the gravy even tho it was a bit thinner than your usual gravy (if I recall correctly you have to ask for gravy, it doesn’t come with the potatoes.)
Waiter was attentive but service was a bit slow as far as the food was concerned, took a good while to get the food. It was worth the wait in the end. Left full and satisfied.

This place took a serious nosedive, we waited 45 minutes for the appetizers. The wrong one comes out it was Oysters Casino which almost looked like the clams casino we ordered. Waiter Bryan comes over after my son put one in his plate and said he’s sorry, if you eat it you have to take the whole order. Wow how tacky can an alleged high end place get. Then we waited at least 20 more minutes for the right stuff to come out. The steak wasn’t bad at all though. The manager comes over knowing what went on without us saying anything and apologized. This place is done I was warned it’s not the same anymore now it’s confirmed. Guess they don’t care about the business like they used to. The excuse was we have a big party going on. Give me a break
The manager gave me a stroke job at best. It’s unreal before I even said anything he knew what went on. I assume they will closing the restaurant soon, nobody seems to care at all there. Oh and by the way it took at least 2 hours to get the entrees

I’ve been here a few times for dinner and the nightclub. The food is amazing. I have not had a bad experience yet. I hope you got deep pockets because the steak is not cheap. I came on a friday night and it was a little on the busy side. Food and drinks took awhile to come. Fortunately, we had time to burn. Overall, I will still come back because the friendly service and the food can’t be beat.

There are few times I feel compelled to write a negative review, this is one. After enjoying a decent night in the lounge area of CM, my party and I went to get our car from valet. My cousin handed the ticket to someone she thought was the attendant, simple mistake. The guy started berating her, saying she should be in the back washing dishes not out partying. Didn’t stop there, he then pushed my friend and spit in her face. We screamed for a manger for a
Bouncer to intervene and help us but got nowhere. Then, to add insult to injury after complaining to staff this week the manger calls my friend who was spit and said I apologize but how could she have mistaken him for the valet. Long story short, this place is a travesty.

Has been a while (few yrs) since I dined at Chris Michaels, and it always brings back the great memories of Poor Billys Café (after hours club) the previous establishment (another lifetime ago!)
The filet mignons we ordered were perfectly cooked to how we like them and I’d put then up against any of the very best NYC or nj steakhouses ;
Only gliche was sending back the blue point oysters as we didn’t think a couple of them were fresh, however the service was spectacular and the manager checked in with us a couple times, I would definitely return. service was unrushed and the environment very comfortable

Good food, awesome waiters and waitresses. My food came on time, didn’t wait long, long enough for a nice conversation. Ordered a rib eye steak rare and the cook prepared amazingly. My and my coworkers come here for lunch all the time. We are only 10 min away good place to have a nice lunch with the boss or employee and at the same time turns into a nice night club where you can hang out and meet people at the bar or at the dance floor. One of my fav places. And for those haters out there nothing is ever perfect!!!

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant for our 5^th anniversary. We were expecting to pay a good amount but our $ 90 bill for 2 ppl was more than we thought but worth it! We had 2 steaks and 2 sides. I like my food med well but the server said to order it medium so the hot plate that it comes on can cook it.
Long story short I was amazed at how great everything tasted and how perfect my steak (after I sizzled it on my plate) was. I had a great time gave the server 25% tip because he was awesome. I’ll go back when I have more money just so I can make the steak my own temperature. I gave it one less star b/​c of their dress policy, it’s not that serious!

This is a review for the lounge section.
When we arrived at 12am on a Saturday night, it was $ 5 for women, $ 10 for men. So many reviews complain about a $ 5 valet, but if you factor in the lower cost of admission you’re probably paying the same amount you’d pay at any other lounge/​club. The place is nice. I always appreciate a good confetti drop! There are several VIP areas surrounding a very small dance floor and two blocks where they have dancers to liven the party. There is a smoking section in the back with chairs and another bar. I can easily describe my evening as «just okay». The music was alright, it was predominantly techno/​house remixes, and the crowd left more to be desired. I could see having a good time here if you went with a large group.

The food is ok but the customer service is **HORRIBLE**
I waited an hour ½ for a table when there were several tables open and just waiting to be cleaned up. The hostess did a horrible job in following up with the buss boys and was extremely rude. Even the lady bartender was rude.
I was extremely embarrassed for taking my friends after that experience. I won’t be going back. I’ll go somewhere else where my business is

This is a review only for the club/​lounge part. Got here around 10:30 and it want crowded or anything. There is a mandatory valet which works out cause then you don’t have to walk far haha. The place was lit up in purple and blue and looked awesome. As it started getting later more people starting coming. The drinks were strong for sure and the music was great! I’m glad I chose this place for my birthday. I was definitely skeptical at first because it’s in the middle of nowhere but props to them!
Fyi if you’re complaining about the crowd being «too jersey» what do you expect, you are in fact In New Jersey morons.

Excellent steak house. The food is simply amazing. I’m surprised to find such a great steak house in this part of New Jersey, not that display in Jersey isn’t great or anything but I’m used to seeing better quality steak houses up north closer to Manhattan.
This however is the exception and if you definitely are in the mood for a great steak or would like to impress a date by taking them somewhere fancy with great food and drinks this is definitely the spot.
Speaking of the drinks, the bartenders really know what they’re doing. They make excellent dreams of all kinds. Have a great cocktail menu and make super tasty martini’s.

The few times I’ve been to Chris Michaels, it’s been for the club. Only the very last time has been for dinner and I have to say the food was better than what I was expecting.
I was here with a large party on an early Friday evening and my friend had made reservations. Our table was ready upon arrival and they had no issues with us waiting by the bar while we waited for everyone to arrive. The dining room was full and I could see most Fridays being full since most people probably come for happy hour/​drinks and dinner and then plan to go to the club afterwards (admission would be comped). Service was good. I had the Herbed Chicken Breast which came served with Smashed Pot ($ 19.95). I forget what my bf had but he enjoyed his meal thoroughly. My chicken was good too. I didn’t have any complaints.
I’d have to say my only annoyance was with our waiter and how when I asked to split the bill because we didn’t have any cash on us, he was giving us a hard time. He finally ended up doing it, but I had to remind him a few times. Other than that, it was a good meal with even better company!
