Loved the salon and Patti!!! She made my hair look gorgeous! I loved that although the stylist is a student they seem very knowledgable. There is also a teacher standing by to over look their work and suggest what should be done :) I was very pleased and will be returning!

Well I wanted to treat myself so I went in for a trim and highlight. I have a lob which needed trimming and I wanted subtle chocolate highlights starting at the middle of my hair down. I was there for four hours which is fine if I got what I wanted. However I got a red tone highlight all over the top of my head down and my cut is horrible! The picture i attached shows how crooked it is and I’m not even going to show the front because it’s so embarrassing. I paid $ 50 for me to feel horrible about my hair. And keep in mind this is the cut the teacher «fixed».

I don’t normally review on here, but i jushad to tell someone about my lovely experience! First off, I’ve had bad experiences at other salons where the stylist just didn’t understand what i wanted and completely jacked up my hair so I’ll admit I was a little unsure about coming to a school but i heard so much good about it and was referred by someone close, not to mention the prices are great compared to other salons so I had to give it a try. I booked an appointment with a lovely girl from phase 2, I believe her name was Alanna. She was very sweet and took her time to understand what I wanted and even asked me about my lifestyle and what I already like and dislike about my hair, which I thought was different and really liked it because no other stylist has asked me this before. She then showed me some pictures and we discussed what I would like have done, I felt so comfortable that I told her in the end to just do what she thinks would look best for me. best decision ever. I’ve never been so in love with my hair color before and I’m getting nonstop compliments. Alanna was so sweet and understanding, she took her time to make me feel comfortable and happy, and she definitely knows how to dye some hair. I’ll be visiting her again in the future for all of my hair needs and definitely recommend her to anyone looking to get their hair dyed.

First off, people need to remember this is a school and these students are learning! It’s even posted when you check in! With that being said, I had the pleasure of being paired w a student named Kylie. She was very friendly, kept me informed of everything she was doing and if she needed help she brought over her leader to help. It was perfectly fine and you know what? She did a great job! She cut and colored my hair and it’s awesome! She also gives the best scalp massages when washing your hair! Again these men and women are learning so if it takes a little longer for them to do your hair then just go w it. A little encouragement from you, the client will go a long way!

Great haircut great prices I recommended Jackie she did a wonderful job. Really shows you they are doing a good job teaching there. Didn’t realize I could tip which was nice to know.

I went to the Paul Mitchell school on Friday at 12:45 for the first time. I had a really great experience despite the face that I was there until 6:30pm. I knew that it would be a longer appointment but didn’t expect that! Otherwise, it was great. My hair stylist was Shea (she graduates in December) and I got a cut and balyage done. I came in with all over blonde highlights and LOVED the look I left with. Shea was extremely thorough and vocal with me throughout the process. The instructor checked in throughout the afternoon as well and was reassuring to me. I was there during class change so that got a bit hectic as a lot of the students were coming and going. Overall, I would highly recommend the school because the instructors are always close by and the students really take the time to give you the look you want. Also to note, the cut and balyage was only $ 85! (I also got a hair treatment that was only $ 5). At a normal salon, that package would be without a doubt, over $ 200.

Would recommend! Price is amazing!!! Remember these are students, my girl seemed really nervous but she didn’t need to be. Make sure you make time out of your day I was there for a little over an hour for a cut. But I did cut off a lot. I got exactly what I wanted with an amazing price just took a while!

I had previously gone to encore color studio in fairfax and got a HORRIBLE balayage and TERRIBLE cut done by Hedieh. Paid $ 220 for bullshit and she wouldn’t fix it without charging me again.
I came to Paul Mitchell really not expecting a miracle but that’s exactly what they gave me right before my birthday, thank goodness.
I believe Maci was my stylist and the teacher was awesome as well as the other students that helped me get out on time for work.
Fixed my color and cut and styled for super cheap! I will definitely be back and will spread the word.
Yes it’s loud duhhh they use blow dryers and there’s multiple clients talking over the noise.
I absolutely love my hair have gotten non stop comments.

I LOVED going here. I went a few times. One time my hair was too red when it was finished (like, almost burgundy/​purple), but I dealt with it because I wasn’t going to throw a fit about something like that, I just box dyed over the top a few weeks later. That’s why I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars.
BUT the rest of the times I’ve gone, they were very attentive and did an amazing job cutting and styling my hair. I always felt like the girls doing my hair were really friendly and genuine. I have a LOT of hair, and so it usually took a while to get it done. I’m okay with waiting though, and I know it’s a school and they’re students learning so it will take longer.
I would recommend this place, prices are good, ventilation is good (I sometimes feel like I’m choking in a hair salon, but not here), and everyone is friendly. The music is a little loud, but it’s okay!

I booked a practice wedding hair appointment here. I came in with Pinterest pics and a vague idea of what I wanted. Amber did a great job talking me through it, and she even commissioned another student, Nicole, because of her skill with braiding. They tried a few styles until they got to a beautiful look that worked well. They even didn’t make fun of me for bringing a potted plant to get flowers from: D their teacher was also very personable and friendly.

I have hair vanity which means I need to get those greys covered often. Instead of paying more for just a little touch up, I rely on the students of the Paul Mitchell School. They do a great job. While I might leave the salon with a little color tint on my ears or around my scalp, I realize that it comes with the territory. I have never had a bad experience .
I, in fact, found a fabulous student who I trusted enough to do my highlights for the very first time. I went in with an idea of what I wanted and she quickly picked up on that and went to work. She did such a fabulous job that I got many great compliments. It will be a sad day for me when she moves on to better and brighter things after she graduates.

I had an appointment here a few weeks ago with Amanda.
First of all, I know it’s a school, so I’m aware that these are students. I don’t mind that; everyone has to learn their trade. However, I had a very difficult time communicating what I wanted, and ultimately I didn’t get what I wanted. I had showed Amanda a picture, and explained that I wanted what was in the picture (low lights), but with my highlights continuing to my roots. Instead, I was given a neutral dark blonde all over my scalp (effectively making my roots worse) and lowlights woven through out. The low lights did look fabulous, and I didn’t hate the look; it just wasn’t what I had come in for. I did leave happy, though.
Unfortunately, over the course of two weeks, the neutral blonde applied all over my scalp of virgin hair has faded to ORANGE. It looks horrendous! I called the Salon this morning, and they told me because too much time has passed, they won’t fix it unless I want to schedule a brand new appointment. Definitely not.
Now I’ll have to pay somewhere completely different to make my hair not orange, when originally, I didn’t even want this color applied all over!
I did give it two stars because I really thought it looked good at first, and Amanda was sweet. I definitely won’t be back, though.

Very fun environment! Jasmine was a doll I was incredibly pleased with the amount of care that was put into me and my hair. My hair came out just the way I wanted. I couldn’t have asked for a better stylist or for a better price!!!

I have been going to this location for about two years now. While you have to say goodbye to some of your favorites because they graduate, I have always found a new student who I simply loved. While it is not quick — remember they are students — they do an awesome job and they really want to make you happy. The leaders are always around to help them if they need. I have never been disappointed. Great cuts, color and hi– and low-​lites. Fun, relaxing atmosphere. Incredible prices. I will never go anywhere else! I was there today for a haircut. Awesome awesome job!!! Can’t say enough wonderful things about them!

Great job by Katie today. Came in with a picture of what I wanted but had a few adjustments to it that Katie pulled off perfectly. Got the style done in a timely manner so I could get on with the rest of my day. And of course you can’t beat the price. Very happy with my updo.

Amazing service! I had my hair colored by Rachel H. and she did an amazing job coloring my hair and styling it. The atmosphere is great, fantastic music, the stylists were upbeat and excited for each job. Even the receptionists were kind and helpful. Already booked my next appointment!

Had a hard time finding a Paul Mitchell Salon I wanted to invest money into visiting. Meet some great ladies at a booth while visiting the PWC Fair last year; so happy I did!
This is a school and everybody even Paul Mitchell himself wasn’t born a Master Stylist so I was really happy to see how professional this place was and the people working and training were. It had the Paul Mitchell Salon feel and the instructors and students were all very nice. Yes, it’s loud but it’s a Salon with dryers and people talking so not an issue for me.
My stylist was Caitlin, she was very nice and super sweet. I didn’t want to be a chatter box while she was working as I knew she was still learning however I had a great time sitting for her. Caitlin cut 6+ inches off which caused my shoulder length hair into Triangle Bob and I am happy with the results. Her instructor was great as well, walking her over the steps and watched over her work. Seriously for $ 12 how could I complain. I look forward to returning and having Caitlin add some fun colors…
These students need to be given a chance to learn and I’m honored to have been part of it; I know Caitlin is going to be an amazing Stylist!

Sometimes a girl just needs her roots dyed. Do you really want to pay a salon’s ridiculous prices for a simple root touch up? This girls says NO!
So I tried the Paul Mitchell School.
Bad thing first– It is VERY loud in the salon– people yelling and clapping and screaming… I don’t know what that is all about. I seriously wish I had brought ear plugs. There was a guy who kept making jokes and the girls were screeching with laughter and there was a gaggle of them all together so it was really loud. Seriously– students need to remember that there ARE paying clients in the salon so PIPE DOWN!
Ok now that I got that out of my system… this school is a great way to get a haircut or hair color and still have money for gas to get you home. The entrance is nice and the receptionist (big curly hair) is very sweet and professional and stops any conversations when a client walks in the door. (refreshing!) I have been twice for basic hair color and I have had 2 different students. Both were great and seemed very knowledgable. The instructor checks in and talks with the student to ensure the student makes the correct assessment and lets you know if you have any questions, to let her know. I did get bonked on the head a few times with the brush and the hair dryer during the blow dry but these are students and you have to remember they are learning. You pay only thirty dollars ($ 30) for basic hair color so don’t expect perfection. You may have a little color stain on your ear or some excess on your scalp but it is better than going into debt or dealing with a box kit!
I will definitely keep this as my salon!

I wasn’t going to write a review but I think I need to get the word out. I came here with hair of an «ombré», I wanted to get it covered with my real hair color. My real hair color has natural looking highlights in it so I didn’t think it’d be possible or I thought I’d have to pay more but my goodness was I wrong.
I had Aida doing my hair and exactly how I pictured it, I got it. I was so amazed at how close in everything my hair looked with my real hair! I am so in love with my hair! I recommend all of you to get her for anything, she did such a great job and she is super awesome and nice! I can’t get over my hair. And she finished it off with a beautiful blow dry! Thank you Aida!

I’d probably not go back as the time I went they gave me the wrong time. I had to wait for over an hour and than it took forever from there. I wanted a brown to light brown ombré and I got charged a lot because they couldn’t get it less blonde. I didn’t want blonde at all. When I walked out my hair looked liked I dipped it in blond and that was it

Very good Exprience! Raven was my stylist! Very beautiful personality. I got a blow out and smooth for 15 dollars! So worth it! I wish the service was faster, but understand that it is a process and I appreciate her taking the time on my hair! definitely a must!

I really liked my stylist, Jay. Everyone was friendly and professional. Instructors checked in on the students and I neverhad a doubt that things would go wrong with my chemical relaxer and things went smoothly. The prices are very affordable and the service is professional and friendly!
