Quick Chek is good for stopping in for a quick breakfast sandwhich or sub. Also have a good variety of drinks and snacks

On August 28, 2009, my husband proposed to me at this Quick Chek location. As in… we were standing in the parking lot near some grass and hedges, he got down on one knee, pulled out a diamond ring, and proposed. We’ve been happily married for over 2 years now!
The back story is silly, sweet, and serendipitous. We were 22 year old kids about to start our first jobs at Merck, and my husband, fresh off the plane from Ohio, had been apartment hunting with a realtor in the area. He meant to take the Northeast Corridor train down to New Brunswick to meet a friend, but ended up missing the connection and was stranded at the Woodbridge train station. After calling a few mutual friends, he ended up with my phone number. He called, I picked up, took pity on him, eventually found him at this Quick Chek location, and showed him around my apartment complex in Avenel. He rented a unit across the street, and we were inseparable friends thereafter.
Six years later, he proposed! We joke that Quick Chek is where I found him, but we both know it’s where we found each other. :)
