Visited the Wyandotte location for the first time last week and I was very pleased. First up was a facial with Stacy. We talked for quite awhile about my skin and the products I use before deciding on the best treatment for my skin. The service included a foot and leg massage which was a relaxing way to begin. After the facial my skin looked great and I was really pleased with the results. Stacy also performed a miracle with my thinning brows. Next was a cut and style with JC which went in reverse order (shampoo, dry, straighten, cut). I had never had a dry cut before and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I know a cut is done well when I can make it look as good at home on my own as it did in the salon. Both Stacy and JC were friendly and fun. They were both knowledgable about the Aveda products and answered all my questions but didn’t push the products on me which I really appreciated. I’ll definitely be back.

Five stars doesn’t even cover it. First time to write a review on anything. I recently had a haircut at the beautiful new Wyandotte location with my hair girl Amy Beckner. Equally talented and beautiful inside and out… The best! Well it was a bad day for me… Had some horrible news delivered the night before and it seemed to all sink in right when I sat in her chair. What happened next I will never forget.
I couldn’t even speak the words to say what was wrong, just kinda lost it. Waterworks Amy took me right to the sink to wash my hair and get me away to privacy. Within a minute… No joke. Someone that I didn’t even see… Brought me a warm, wonderful smelling towel to hide my face in and massaged my arms and hands while I just cried like a baby. It was true kindness and was exactly what I needed. For that, I will always be grateful, and most definately always be a client here. I was meant to have that break down there … Surrounded by such wonderful people.

What can I say about Daybreak? I have been going there since it was Headway in Southgate. Everyone is so kind and great at what they do. Carrie has done my hair for the past 8 years or so. I still drive down all the way from Ann Arbor to get it done. I recommend them for anything! I’ve had formal hairstyles (prom and sister’s wedding), makeup, cut, color, and pedicures. Iust wish I had the time and money to use more services!

When I want to go somewhere to relax and come out looking a feeling good, I go to daybreak! Tricia amanda and Zachary have all done an amazing job on my hair and the other services I have had are great as well. The receptionists are friendly and I love the smell of the aveda products when I come in. Thanks daybreak for helping me relax and feel pampered!

My first visit here was a private party for a friend a while back and was a terrible experience. My manicure was sloppy and and the woman I was assigned to was very rude.
Almost a year later, I decide to give the place a second shot, booking a hair appointment. Again, I am highly dissapointed and unsatisfied. Though my hair dresser was nice, she hardly communicated with me and took off way more then we agreed upon. Gave me «layers» which are hardly visible and do not compliment me. My hair is flat and boring and I was wrong to give this place a second shot.

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a professional salon. With no particular stylist that had been referred to me, I decided to call Daybreak after doing some research on the Internet.
I have short, straight hair that really shows a bad cut. I needed a stylist that was good with short straight hair. I wear my hair spikey so I also asked for someone good with a razor.
The girl answering the phone said she knew exactly the stylist that I needed! I was booked an appointment with Carrie. She did a fantastic job! Great cut! And did exactly what I wanted!
I have since be back once and have my next appointment already booked! The salon is clean, neat, stocked with products and they maintain a very professional atmosphere. I highly recommend it! I also highly recommend Carrie. You will get exactly what you want because she takes the time to listen to your needs.

The best place ever. They are very modern and relaxing and professional. They are a little bit more on the pricer side but when you gets massage there its worth every penny

Kayla did a great job on my Shellac Manicure. I just wish Daybreak can tried order more shellac nail colors too choose from.

After the worst week of my life I decided to venture away from home for a spa day. Wow! Daybreak exceeded my expectations! Debbie did my massage, she was sooooo friendly and the massage was absolutely heavenly! Lucy did my wonderful mani and pedi! The Aveda tea is the best tea I have ever had in my life. I suggest buying a container of that before you go! Thank you Daybreak for helping to make a terrible week more enjoyable!

Megan is fantastically talented with color and cutting. As always, a great experience and very pleased with my results.

We purchased the Caribbean package for our mother for Christmas. The certificate said it was good for one year. However, when she went for her appointment, she was forced to pay more money because the price of the package changed. Our gift to her was still within the year. It’s infuriating that my mother — in desperate need of a relaxing day — had to deal with this because of us. I no longer live in Michigan, so I was unable to be there to stick up for her. We will not be using Daybreak for future Christmas gifts.

Received a facial. It was total pampering. Andrea was friendly and pleasant.

This is Michelle, I don’t have my own Unilocal account, but I wanted to write a review right away after what the staff here did for me! My sister Ashley introduced me to this salon and Jared and his team are so talented and nice. I have been living abroad and was only home for two days, but they were able to make time for me to get corrective color, my hair blow dried out, and cut. My hair is extremely curly and really was damaged and Natasha was able to fix the color and make it silky, smooth and healthy and brought me some delicious tea as a bonus. I absolutely love the results and the kind treatment from the staff. My hair is crazy curly and they made it look so shiny and healthy and gave me good advice on how to care for it. I will definitely come back again and highly recommend this salon. Thank you so much, you saved my hair!!! I absolutely love it!

I’ve been searching for a salon for a long time… I’m one of those girls who gets her hair cut by someone different every time because I’m never satisfied. Not anymore! I live in Berkley, but I’m from Downriver, and I am familiar (and in love) with Aveda products. I’ve bounced around between stylists (never a bad cut) but finally found Rory and she’s awesome. She’s very talented, listens to what you want in a haircut which is refreshing. The prices are standard ($ 35 for a haircut) parking is ample and the salon smells yummy. If you sign up for their emails, they offer 15% off last minute appointments if you wanted to try a stylist out first. I will continue to be coming back!

I have given this salon multiple chances especially as a cosmetologist myself. First I went to have full highlights and left paid full price with $ 20 tip and got home realized it didn’t look like I ever got highlights through the rest of my hair. Also stylist ran out if time for my cut that was also scheduled even though I told them when I Madeleine appointment that I have a lot of hair and it usually takes a whole to highlight. So had to come back for haircut in which she didn’t even do what I asked at all and I paid again. Went back to have the highlights redone for no charge. I’m not even one usually to say anything but with family photos and military ball coming up I needed them done plus I paid for it. Still left without having highlights done correctly and haircut is still messed up.
Second time since I already had appointment booked I went in for formal style and makeup. I had done a consultation with different stylist prior to coming and she was enthused as if she could give me what I was asking for. 3 hours at the salon and I left there with a rats best and makeup that didn’t look at all like what I asked for. I had an hour to get home redo it to get to the ball. I was so upset I just paid for it and left in tears. After an anonymous person told the manager I got a missed call from him offering to fix it with no time I attempted to call him back left a message he never returned it. Never again will I go to this salon.

My friend had a massage with Veronica and raved about it so I took my sister to get a prenatal massage with her. She also loved her massage. The staff is very nice as is the salon.

I spent a wonderful afternoon yesterday at Daybreak. I had a facial and a pedicure. I came out of there limp and relaxed.
The spa area is seperate from the busy salon in the front which makes the entire experience more peaceful. Even though it was a busy Saturday, I never felt rushed. I think the prices are reasonable for the service. I will be back as soon as my budget allows.
The only negative part of Daybreak in my experience is the front receptionist. It took me three calls to book this appointment, mostly because the receptionist was so unhelpful. Even in person, the front desk folks give off a snobby-​ubercool vibe that is not at all like the rest of the employees I have encountered there. If the receptionist is a jerk when you call, I would recommend to ignore it, because once you get into the spa area, everyone is wonderful.

I have been a client here since the salon was located on Dix-​Toledo Rd. in Southgate and was called «Headway Salon.»
Four years later, and I am still a loyal client of Abby– my stylist, as well as a slew of other girls in there that provide other wonderful services such as waxing (Crystal) and my other stylist– Nona.

We booked Daybreak for my (now) Sister-in-law’s wedding reception for a large group of gals. They were very accommodating (they even worked in time to do my grandmother’s makeup, even though she hadn’t booked an appointment). After a few hours at the spa everyone looked fantastic and the salon staff were all attentive and helpful.
An Aveda spa in my old neighborhood where my parents still live? You can bet I’ll be back when I’m visiting the ‘rents for a break from family time!
