Sometimes the service can be slow if it’s lunch rush hour but the employees will most frequently get your meal to you in a reasonable amount of time. The combo is my absolute favorite and I always go spicy half pound with fries and ranch dipping sauce. I used to go so often in the summer after work that the employees knew my order. Great soul food. The sides are packaged oddly so I go with the fries. The only thing is I usually try and stay away from eating too much greasy food and the chicken is of course greasy because it’s fried. But aside from that it is a great dive to be able to enjoy a quick lunch.

Normally. Their chicken is great. However I went in there tonight for a spicy meal, and as I was waiting to be served a phone order came in and they denied me my meal because of the phone order and would not give me food. Great food, terrible customer service. Never have I been denied food from a restaurant because they were too lazy to make more food. For that they get a one star and lose a customer who used to love going there and love eating their food. After being treated so poorly I will never return. I highly recommend going to heavens sent fried chicken in lake city, better customer service and they won’t deny hungry customers food. I’m not sure who runs your Saturday night crew, but it’s easily the worst customer service ive ever received.

So I wanted to say that I’ve been here before and I’ve got perfectly fine and good tasting chicken however tonight when we stopped by I got an 8 piece for the family. I got 3 breast. 3 thighs and one leg and one wing now who does that with 8 pieces aren’t you supposed to get two legs two wings 2 breast and 2 thighs? Anyhow the chicken was overcooked dry and by the time I got home it wasn’t even Chrispy

Best fried chicken around. I would give this place 5 stars except sometimes the service can be slow when they are busy. Awh heck I’ll give it 5 stars anyways because the food is THAT good and the management is very friendly and seem like good people.

Great customer service friendly and fast. It was my first time to this location. I’ve been going to Ezell’s for over 10 years and I do believe they have the best fried chicken. I’ve been to all the locations. This location is different because seems like a to go order location. I think that there was two small tables outside that sits two persons per table. Inside it was small and there was no tables. This location was faster getting my order completed. The food was excellent as always.

I’m really on the fence about how to rate Ezell’s. This location is takeout-only, which is fine, but the interior is a bit tired-looking. It’s fortunate that I didn’t have to wait long for my order, because there is no where to sit and wait for it. I got a little frustrated at how they display the menus. There are several above the counter, but you can’t see them all at one time, which makes ordering hard. Nor is there a full menu at the register, where you order and pay. Which would be fine except … They didn’t have the chicken I wanted for my order(which is kind of funny given they basically sell one thing — chicken), and then I couldn’t see half the menu to adjust my order, because fully half the overhead menus are hidden behind a piece of equipment when you’re at the register. I adjust my order, but they don’t have THAT either(seriously, you have one thing to do …). Eventually, we did get an order together. The gal at the counter was nice and trying her best. The good news? The chicken is actually quite good, nicely breaded and flavorful, and better yet, not greasy. The rolls were very fresh and tasty. The mashed potatoes were okay, that’s about it. I’d definitely come back for the chicken. Maybe put the menu up on your phone if you go, so you have one handy when you order.

For being the local famous fried chicken chain, we were pretty disappointed with Ezell’s. It is very pricey for what you get — ohhhh, what I wouldn’t give for a Popeyes north of Renton on the Eastside. The chicken must be brined, because the chicken was almost too soft. The fried coating is super salty, so you need to chug water as you eat this fried chicken. The rolls LOOKED good, but they were dry and disappointing, too. Cole slaw was ok. Kids liked the chicken tenders and fries ok, but they are not worth going out of your way to try. The person taking the order, Chloe, was very friendly and helpful, though. Didn’t want to ding the service with my disappointment in the food.

This is my first Ezell’s I’ve tried, and I’ve had it a few times now, which means it’s REVIEWTIME! Over all, I give it high praise. Let me tell you, the breaded okra is by far the best thing on the menu. I love it. I love okra. Spicy or plain, both are delicious and I could eat more all the time. My first go ’round I had chicken livers which were fabulous and tasted like the chicken livers I’d get back home — delicious. Then when I got it once for a group of friends, I got a…12 piece? Half spicy half normal. Over all, I’ve had a great time with the food. As stated, the okra is amazing — give it a go if you like that particular vegetable(I know some people don’t, but this fried okra isn’t slimy at all). The chicken I’ve had is juicy and… you know when chicken meat just kind of flakes off? And it’s delicious and juicy? That. It does that. It’s fantastic. And the livers are amazing. I’ve only had the mashed potatoes and gravy of the sides, and it was good to me. The rolls, also, are really good southern yeast rolls which YES please I can’t get enough of those around here. My two big complaints about Ezell’s however are one: the staff never seem particularly thrilled to see anyone. They’re always grumpy, brusque, and just seem irritated and want you to hurry up. This doesn’t make it especially a nice friendly place to go to for food. On top of that, I just wish there was a place to actually sit and eat your chicken. But I can deal with that — I have a car, there’s a park nearby, whatever, I can deal with that one. It’s mostly the grumpy employees that get me. But otherwise, I do recommend it for the food!

We finally tried Ezell’s today. Frankly, it was mostly disappointing. We really liked the chicken tenders, but the coleslaw was gross. It tasted like they poured their jarred ranch dipping sauce on the cabbage. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good. The baked beans were good; however, they tasted like they may have cracked open a can rather than making them. This place could be fantastic if their sides were as good as the chicken.

Not awesome, not bad but we were starving so we came to try this«FAMOUSCHICKEN». The chicken comes in a pretty good crisp either spicy or not spicy. We got no spice but that shouldn’t mean no flavor right? The best part about the meal was the fresh oven hot rolls! Yum. But they were out of honey. :(The mashed potatoes were pretty good but the gravy is heavy on the peppery side. The potato salad is on the salty side of things but i guess it goes well with the flavorless chicken. Overall bleh. 30 bucks for an 8 piece meal with 2 sides and rolls. The young girl at the counter was very friendly and attentive. And the service was quick. Add more flavor to your chicken and we’ll give it another try.

I have been eating Ezels since back in the day — one shack across the street from Garfield High School. Pre Oprah(although that, too, is ancient history). I have read a lot over the years about fiscal mismanagement, partner disputes and lawsuits, name changes and etc. Lots of drama for a very small business. What remains? Pretty good chicken and sides. Good for nights you don’t want to cook. But it is really overpriced in my opinion. Especially for basic takeout food!

Very disappointing. Chicken was bland. Almost a little dry. When we walked in, the place smelled of oil. But I thought, well, guess that’s expected. Somehow I don’t recall that at KFC. Anyway our order was taken promptly. The gal packing our order together was obviously having a bad day(or maybe that’s her normal ?!). No smile, just dumping our chicken in the box. I can overlook sulky people when the food is good but meh… I think I’ll stick to KFC. I really wanted to like their food.

This is easily the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Biscuits are moist and delicious. Mashed potatoes and gravy — yum. I order take out and finish at least half a meal on the way home. ITSTHATGOOD. I’ve had KFC and others. Unlike those, this chicken does not make you feel ill and gassy afterwards. It’s just better quality chicken.

Living in Renton, I loved that there was an Ezell’s just down the street from my apartment. Now that I’m out in the boonies, I thought that such a delight was beyond my reach. Then one day during a drive through Woodinville, I beheld a vision. My beloved Ezell’s! This location offers up the same amazing chicken, biscuits, and sweet potato pie as the one in my Renton ‘hood. I can’t speak for the sides since despite ordering an 8-piece combo that comes with sides, none were included in the bag.

After coming here several times, it was pointed out to me that there IS a combo meal menu on a board that you cannot see from the cashier — so upping my rating for taste & value, which i’ll now call 4 star, and adding a star for the OUTSTANDING ‘green’ effort using compostible/recycled materials in their takeout packaging.

Meh. Just okay and not nearly as good as the Ezells in Mill Creek. My chicken tenders tastes like oil and not much else. I didn’t get any utensils for my cole slaw either(maybe I missed them sitting out?) and it was just okay. The roll was good though. I do give them props — it was going to be a long wait for something a flow customer ordered and they offered extra chicken in a different type so he didn’t have to wait.

Just realized that all Ezell’s are not created equal. This Ezell’s Famous is in a small storefront in a strip mall and is really takeout only. Luckily there were two outdoor tables so we didn’t have to eat in our car. Even though the menu was the same as the Bothell location, the place just seems sad and old. Our chicken was no where near piping hot. We always order the combo with sides and ask for all breast meat chicken… only two of the three pieces qualified… one was a mystery piece. Also, the young guy taking my order kept wiping his nose with the back of his hand… a yucky turnoff. The flavor of the chicken and sides was okay, so that is why I am giving this place three stars.
