From the moment I started working with Joel on designing an engagement ring for my girlfriend it has been nothing but a smooth process. The design I brought to Joel was something he has never attempted before, but he was confident with his experience that he can get the job done right. He created exactly what I wanted, a flower engagement ring that he has never created before on his end. When I saw the ring for the first time I was blown away by how brilliant it was. It came out flawless and was exactly what my girlfriend and I wanted. You get what you pay for. Whatever the prices that Joel has is worth every penny. Not only does my fiancé I love her ring, but every time I look at it I get just as excited… maybe even more! Hah!

I had a very positive shopping experience at Joel’s Gold Store. The salesman i dealt with was very proactive in making sure that i was happy with my purchase. He was never pushy and was always helpful and patient. I would shop here again without hesitation.

Highly recommend! My family has been coming here for years and recommended my fiancé and I when we wanted to design an engagement ring. He was VERY friendly and explained everything so well to both of us. He was very conscientious about our budget and we never felt pressured to spend more than what we could/​wanted. THIS IS AN UPDATE… the first visit was wonderful… and despite receiving nothing close to the treatment received on the first visit on subsequent visits… I am going to leave the good review, exactly as it previously written, below
the second time, we returned, only to discover Joel’s is by «appointment only» something we had not realized, when we had stopped by the first time — no one said it was «by appointment only” — the info is not available here or if it is I missed it… We only found this out after arriving at the door… where there is a sign.“by appointment only»…so my boyfriend made an appointment a few days later… for 2 pm… and after arriving at 2:05pm, he pressed the intercom and said «Hello, it’s…“and was surprised to hear «oh, no, I called the number you gave me» and «you didn’t answer the phone» it was «someone totally different,» «so sorry, I can’t help you» …my boyfriend looked at his phone .then he pressed the intercom «wait a minute was the number (such and such) ?» She went somewhere, then she came back on the intercom «that’s not the number you gave me, sorry I can’t help you»
She knew his name and the agreed upon appointment time… he wouldn’t have answered his phone while riding his motorcycle… If she didn’t have the right number, of his phone, the phone he was holding in his hand… perhaps, it was written it down wrong?
«Why is it «okay» to waste anyone’s time in this manner?
That having been said, we want to believe this was all some sort of misunderstanding

Joel is a great guy who truly cares about the jewelry pieces leaving his store. The quality is impeccable, service is spot on, and you can feel confident that you are getting what you pay for (maybe even more). I would recommend Joel to any one of my friends and family looking to purchase jewelry (especially custom pieces!)

My wife and I went into Joel’s Gold Store after reading reviews from other sites as well as this one. We just went in to «shop» our scrap gold and to see what kind of price and service we might receive. We knew the approximate weight (always a good idea before going into to sell your gold) and the price of gold for the day so we had some ballpark price in mind that we might settle for should we get lucky enough not to run into a crook.
We have sold small amounts of gold previously, for ourselves and relatives. Always to a traveling thief from Santa Barbara that sets up shops in hotels in the SFV. We suspected that he was 15−20% light in his prices but its a pain to shop around so we took his price and walked away with the money. Joel was amazing! Fast, simple in his explanations and no run around… just a fair price for our scraps. He is kind, pleasant and easy to deal with. I will send my family to him and recommend that others go to him as well. Do your homework… understand what your are selling and what the current price of gold is… then go to Joel and feel good about it.

I went to Joel’s to have him redesign a necklace and ring and he did an excellent job and his pricing was more than fair.
Also, Lorraine in the front of the store is wonderful and a pleasure to deal with. I can’t say enough good things about the experience!

Joel and Lorraine are such wonderful couple. We feel very catered by them. They really took time to attend to us. We highly recommend this place if you are interested in buying or selling gold.

After working with a couple previous jewelers in the last few years we have definitely decided that Joel’s will be our new place. His estimate was exactly what the final price was.
We had him make a custom platinum split shank ring around an heirloom diamond and the results were even better than I had expected in quality, price and service!

Before calling Joel’s, I called another jewelry store just a couple of blocks down to see how much it would cost to have my new watched sized and get my white gold wedding band rhodium plated. That store wanted to charge me $ 7.00 for the watch and $ 35.00 for the ring. Yikes, no thank you!
I called Joel’s hoping to get a better quote, and sure enough, I did. The watch sizing was free and the rhodium plating was a mere $ 20.00. What a steal! Thanks to Joel, my watch fits perfectly, and my ring looks better than the day I bought it. I was so impressed with everything that I decided I’m going to use them again to have a piece of jewelry custom made.
Their customer service was stellar, and they offer quality products and workmanship at reasonable prices. Thanks again, Joel!

Guest Service at it’s finest!!! Joel’s“s Gold Store would most definitely take home the «Oscar» of customer service!!! Having nearly 30 years of retail experience and my degree in education, I find it hard to go anywhere these days and even find someone to greet you, provide you with outstanding service, or better yet take the time to teach you /​educate you on their product. From my initial phone call to get directions and make an appointment, Joel and his team’s performance was nothing less than 110%. Not only did Joel do his expected job, he took the additional time to teach me what to look for, how to identify certain markings on items of value — I left the shop feeling like I had just been to a mini-​crash course on shopping for silver. Joel and his team took a personal interest in who I was and truly made this experience one that I continue to share over and over and over. Loraine and all the other staff members are a Top notch team that obviously have a passion for their work, enjoy what they are doing and are the example for any retail organization to model their team after. I found my way to Joel’s Gold Store, a couple of years ago. At that time, it was because his price point for purchasing scrap metals, was hands down the highest, bar none. What ended up happening was that I learned about his talents as a jeweler, and just as important, I found a trustworthy gentleman who does not take advantage of people in any manner whatsoever. Joel has made a diamond and Platinum eternity band for me, and let me tell you that his work is the epitome of «world class». I’ve recommended folks to him who know only from the finest… they too have been thrilled with what his creative eye envisions, and how it manifests into exquisite jewelry.
