Stay away from this guy! DO NOT pay anything as deposit… He will not deliver the promised goods/​service.

We came to Larry close to his closing time. He stayed late and immediately came to our home with the samples we selected in his store and measured and gave us a reasonable price. Carpet was installed today by Julio and his team who have worked with Larry for many years and they were amazing! They were professional, and hard working. The installation came out great.

Larry is HORRIBLE! It seems like he is trying to steal my money. I gave him a $ 600 deposit a couple of months ago and was told I would receive my carpet and it would be installed no later than 2 weeks after I ordered it. It’s been almost 3 months, he ignores my calls and never calls me back when I leave him messages! He is so flakey! I will never go here again. If I don’t get my deposit back I’m calling the police. Do NOT use his company, it isn’t worth the stress!

Larry Yarow is a liar, a cheat, and a con man. We too made a selection with Larry of a custom area rug, paid in full like an idiot, and the run around began. First it was to our decorator that the rug would take three weeks, then claiming we misunderstood him and it would be two more weeks, then some bs about the factory being closed for a death in the family, then we called the factory to learn the order had never been placed, now the run around to get our refund as we had to reorder elsewhere. The man is a thief and we are about to sue him too. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Save yourself the aggravation.

I, too, am a victim of Larry Yarow’s unethical business practices. I ordered 2 custom area rugs from Larry over a year ago, paid him in full and have nothing to show for it besides aggravation, undue stress and a loss of cash that I could have used for other purposes. It’s the same story. the blatant lies, the stringing along, etc. so I won’t bore you with the details. What amazes me the most is that my family has an 18 year relationship with Larry, he knows I’m a single mother and not rich! It was a splurge to buy something for myself to replace my old rugs and beautify my apartment. Yet, he still stole from me. To make matters worse there is no sincerity or effort on his part to make amends. No apology, nothing. It’s truly unbelievable to me. AND he wants to shift the guilt and say this is too stressful for him. He’s the architect of his own undoing! I’d be in a mental hospital if I did what he did and people were calling me on it. Luckily, that would never happen because in the circles I deal with this behavior is unheard of!

This guy is a cheat and thief. Took payment for a rug over a year ago and never delivered. he refuses to engage in any significant conversation other than «I can’t pay it.» Also cheated a friend out of 6
months’ rent.
His business practices are below any standards except perhaps North Korea.

If i could give negative 7 stars i would. One star means «eek! methinks not». Really EEK METHINKS ABSOLUTELY NEVER EVER!

Ok, to start off we went in to pick out carpet… He has a broad selection of all different types and colors of carpet (the one plus to his business). So, we picked out our two different carpets and Larry came over to the Property to measure the rooms and talk about the installation and total cost. He seemed a little high on the prices but with the carpet we were getting and the professional installation we figured it was fine. We were in the middle of renovating a very large home so we told larry we would call him when the sub flooring and other work was done to proceed. All of that sounds good right?
Fast forward a few months to when we call, he had asked for a two week lead time… We drop off the deposit and proceed to attempt to schedule installation with Larry. He tells us that he is booked out a month and that he could do it in 4 weeks. Call back in 3 weeks to schedule it and he says that the weather is too bad to install. Call back the week after it is finished raining and he says the weather in other states is too bad to get the carpet shipped. He then told us that he had to wait for the company to open back up because they are closed for a few weeks for the storm.
We call back repeatedly over the next month or so and he says he finally had it shipped and would have someone out that week to install. We were also upset by this because he originally said it was his company who installs when in actuality he outsources to Home Depot workers and other spur of the moment workers… The day comes for installation and he calls to say he can’t reach his guy and he can have him there tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and he can’t reach him again. Day after he said the man was on a different job and could do it next week. Next week came and he said there was a death in the family and he would have to schedule another worker… Sketchy enough yet?
The next worker was scheduled with delays being that he wasn’t in the office to give the man the check to pay off the remainder. OH! I forgot, he said he had already payed for the material through the company and he just had to pay the remainder… Only problem was that I CALLED THE COMPANY’S WAREHOUSE WITH THE ORDER NUMBER… Nothing had been paid on the materials to the date and they had been sitting there for over a month apparently. The man finally apparently got the check and was on his way to pick up the materials when his truck broke down… We asked for his phone number and location but neither were willing to have us pick the check up, grab a uhaul, and take the man to pick it up to install. Then apparently the man was trying to get his truck fixed the next day and needed a few days (according to Larry). I called the gentleman myself and inquired about his availability for a random job which he said he had immediate openings. I told him I would call him back.
Finally, we called Larry out and explained that if he spent the money on other jobs, gambling, debt, or whatever he needed to be upfront instead of waisting our time. He finally admitted it and said he would have the reimbursement check in one week after he finished a big job he was on. The next stall tactics were that he didn’t get the check yet, that his bank wasn’t open, that the bank didn’t open until 11am, etc. We finally got the check back and bought the carpet elsewhere.
Needless to say his prices are way too high, his work ethic and truthfulness are nonexistent, he has some type of voice modulation issue or lack of respect because I have had to put him in his place a few times, and he is just all around unprofessional. Don’t be fooled by the plethora of carpet samples and pretty showroom… WALK AWAY!

Here is a very fair warning: DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this company. You don’t want to lose your deposit like I did. Check public records, do a background check on the owner. Not good.

Update…
I finally sued Larry in small claims and won. I’m not sure if he will ever pay the $ 9250 he admitted to stealing, but I warn all to not release any money to this clown.

Don’t ever shop here!!! Over a year ago we purchased carpeting from Larry. We paid him in full (stupid), and never received the carpet or a refund. We are still trying to retrieve our money via small claims court!!! What a mess!!!

Larry was great and installed our wood laminate. We get so many compliments and he made it happen in our tight timeframe. We would definitely recommend him again!
