Morton’s The Steakhouse

Atmosphere is great. Food was cooked perfect. Bit pricy but service you can’t beat. Always love this place.

I want to start off by saying the food was magnificent !! and I would eat there again. BUT… We were seated with wine menus nothing else. We waited and waited and waited no water or menus, nothing. I finally asked for a manager (who never showed up by the way) I finally had to ask a bus boy for water. The waiter finally came he was very nice and finally gave us the menus. The dirty dishes from dinner sat on the table for a while and we were thinking are they ever going to take them? I still like the waiter but as a owner of a small hotel I was very put off by the lack of manager and the slow bussing. The food was excellent — like really, really excellent ., As a senior reviewer on trip advisor also, I don’t know how to rate this place. I was so put off by the slow service but the food was so good. Is it a 4 maybe?

My fiancé and I come here on special occasions and the service is always great. For my fiancée birthday we had a Genie Server named Shraaookii (I think that’s how you spell it, sorry!) He provided great service and consistently said Happy Birthday and our wish is his command… Haha! Overall the food was fantastic and the service was consistent so I am writing this review to give great recognition to our server and the rest of the staff. Thank you and I highly recommend to come and enjoy a great experience.
PS, the Mixed Grill with Filet Mignon, Bacon Wrapped Scallops, and Grilled Shrimp was amazing! #Yum

We had a negative experience from miscommunication from server about sides not being a part of the meal but was presented as if it was and ended being charged for it. The rib eye steak was hard to chew and dry. When presented to manager, he was inconsiderate to our negative experience and only took out minor items after several attempts. I don’t recommend the pasta dish as well.

Who doesn’t love a good steak?!? Call 48 hours in advance and you can request a specific cut in a specific marinade. Always great servings and wine pairings. It is pricey, but well worth it! Our go to place for special occasions.

Contacted by a teenager the day after asking me about my dining experience. I expressed some concerns and was assured I would be receiving a call from the manager at the Warner Center/​Woodland Hills location. NEVER HAPPENED. The teenager expected that I would be informing her my dinning experience was great. Hell No! $ 12 salad my two year old could make better. A bowl of soup that barely contained enough for a new born kitten. Give me a break! Hard to believe this place has survived this long.

I’m not a steak person so I usually order the shrimp capellini here which is good. I wish they put more noodles in it though. I always end up taking home the rest of the shrimps. I also like their chopped salad. The warm round bread is always good to start with although I only eat a slice of it everytime. I guess i just like having it on the table cause it’s cute. lol They used to make them bigger. For my cheat day I ordered the chocolate mousse which is super yummy but again couldn’t finish it. My husband got the grand marnier which was just ok but we finished it. lol We’re weird at times…

Went here to catch Monday Night Football. The bar was rather quiet and the service was very good. The have a few Happy Hour Specials (most for some reason are only available Fri — Sun) and I had the steak sandwich. They have a very good selections of wines
Service was good.

Filet-​Mignon Day: Mini Steak Sandwiches with Filet Mignon slices for $ 1 each :)
Expensive, BUT great quality and nice ambience. Service is good. 4 points.

Friday ⁹⁄₁₁ Best birthday dinner for the boyfriend. Service was 5 star & friendly from reservations until we walked out the door. Server was awesome and He had a good sense of when to show up. There was no happy birthday singing (thank goodness don’t need any of that attention at our age LOL)
I had the baked stuffed Shrimp and the Boyfriend had the NY steak. Everything was cooked to perfection. Just the right portion, the steak was tender and juicy no sauce needed. The shrimp with stuffed with the crab cakes was to die for. We enjoyed the Creamed Spinach and shared this side dish.
The end of the evening we shared the Chocolate Soufflé. The server brought us a vanilla soufflé «on the house» and it was a bit overcooked and tasted mostly like vanilla scrambled eggs. The Chocolate though was perfection. It was light, fluffy and very moist. Order this before you order dinner as it takes about 30 minutes to prepare. We enjoyed desert with espresso and stopped at the bar to enjoy a night cap of Lagervueilin 16 Scotch. The bartender was really a cool guy too. We talked about bourbon and scotch and he seemed very knowledgable.
A terrific experience to be repeated soon !

My mom and I enjoyed a nice night out at Morton’s on Tuesday night. It was pretty empty so we got seated right away and the servers were very attentive.
They start you off with a complimentary loaf of bread fresh out of the oven, but I warn you do not fill up on it no matter how good it is! We ended up getting the steak and seafood special for $ 62.99 and let me tell you we were not prepared for the monstrous amount of food about to come our way. Here’s the rundown:
Caesar salad w/​parmesan cracker crisps– Umm so this was no starter salad. This baby was a meal and it was amazing.
6 oz. filet mignon– This was really good, but it was pretty dry and barely pink even though I ordered medium, so I’d probably order a step rarer than you usually would.
Crabcake– Mmmm yummy, also a little dry though
Mushroom and spinach side– A MUST GET. Just trust me.
Garlic mashed potatoes– the creamiest potatoes ever. Not too much flavor though.
Hot chocolate cake w/​ice cream– if you go to Morton’s and don’t order their hot chocolate cake, did you really go to Morton’s? The hot and cold mixture is spectacular.
Key lime pie– it was good, but you can tell it’s not the fresh key lime pie you can get at other places. Also has nothing on the chocolate cake so I wouldn’t order it again.
We were enjoying our über fancy meal– feeling like queens and all– when my mom realized spit out part of a nail that was in our veggie dish. Our server apologized and immediately took our dish away. The manager came over and apologized as well, explaining that the nail was from the pan they used to cook the dish. They sent us home with the side dish to go, paid for a glass of wine, and sent us home with a slice of key lime pie. Although they were very accommodating, if you pay $ 170 for a meal and remember it as the time you had a nail in your mouth, it probably wasn’t a great experience.
The next day I was really grateful for the leftovers as they were really good, but as I was eating the vegetable dish they remade for us, I ended up pulling some thick, black, thread sized shaving from what I assume to be the pan they cooked it in. Morton’s was a really nice restaurant and the food was AMAZING, but to pay that much to eat pan scrapings isn’t right.
All in all, it was a good, 4 star meal. If you were to judge based on price, it would probably pale in comparison to some other fancy steakhouses, warranting 3.5 stars.

I’ve been wanting to try out a new steak place and haven’t been to Morton’s before. My friend wanted to go for some special on the filet sandwiches so we thought it was our chance. She called to make sure it was going on and they said yes till 10pm in the bar. We arrive 10mins later and are told it’s no longer going on and they sold out.
We order some filet sandwich that sounds similar on the bar menu… which is weird because isn’t that what was sold out? She comes back 5 mins later and says sorry we don’t have any of that left either. Okaaaay… so we change to the dip. Well surprise they happen to have found 1 left. It looked so sad like a 5yr old really did find pieces somewhere and put it on an even sadder bun, cut it into 4 pieces and put it on a plate. It looked like it belonged in a brown paper bag not a steak house. I wished I’d taken a picture of it.
If this is an introduction to this place, I’ll skip and pass a dinner here for sure. After eating at Mastro’s and Ruth’s Chris for years, I don’t see the need to return ever!!!

We love this place! Right by our house so we love walking here.
We sit in the bar area, super relaxed, great happy hour menu. Ask for Nathan the bartender! He’s knowledgeable, fun and mixes great cocktails.
I would like to see some music in the bar area, it seems a tad bit stuffy…
Other than that, this is a great location :)

I think Morton’s has really lost its luster in the last few years. I probably won’t bother coming back.
Came here on a Friday night for my son’s HS graduation dinner. The bar was full but the restaurant was fairly empty at 6:30pm.
We had a party of 5 and ordered $ 250 worth of food and drinks before tip. Several steaks, short ribs, creamed spinach, sautéed Brussels sprouts, Cesar salad, and truffle fries.
The steaks, as always, were amazing; no complaints at all. The creamed spinach was also very good.
However, the sprouts were far too andante (undercooked), the salad was very ho-​hum. The fries were fine, but nothing out of the ordinary for truffle fries. Definitely not worth the price of these sides. At all.
The service was not what I expect from a place hat sells $ 60 steaks. Our water and drink glasses remained empty for a long time before being refilled. Also, our waiter seemed more interested in displaying his knowledge of the menu than really guiding us or discovering our preferences. He started going through the menu item by item very quickly and I literally tuned out after about 30 seconds. He was a nice enough guy, but I felt he was trying to posture himself too much.
Overall, I think Morton’s has lost its way. There’s a lot of places in town that sell $ 40-​$ 60 steaks that provide a much more enjoyable experience.
3 stars, probably won’t repeat.

Love this place — one of the best happy hours around!
The happy hour food is well priced, both Nate and Kurt make a mean martini and well… its Mortons!!!
I go there a lot, and switch up what I order from time to time. Nothing beats the filet trio on happy hour and the oysters are always outstanding!

Absolutely the WORST experience I’ve ever and at any steakhouse. BOA, Ruth’s Chris, CUT, Monty’s… I can go on. They’re all MUCH better alternatives, both in service, ambience, and food.
The food came out ridiculously slow (about an hour to get our appetizer, and another 30 mins after that to get our entrees. Steaks weren’t cooked right. I had ordered Medium Rare+, my father had ordered Medium. They switched it. unbelievable. And they didn’t come around until significantly later so even if we wanted to get a new steak, a good 15 mins had already past… we weren’t going to sit there staring at our incorrectly cooked steaks for 15 mins, only to have to wait again for them to recook them.
Service, aside from being slow and rarely showing up… was extremely rude and unbelievable. They never apologized or offered to make up for the slow food, the lack of stopping by (drinks rarely refilled), or the incorrectly cooked steak.
The steaks, while they did taste fine, were subpar in quality and overall seasoning. I’ve had significantly better steaks at Ruth’s Chris and Monty’s.
I will NEVER return to Morton’s. If you want to have a great experience, from the food to the service and don’t feel like leaving the valley, I highly recommend Ruth’s Chris or Monty’s.
We paid well over $ 200 for 3 people to get mediocre food, horrible service, and an overall unpleasant experience.

I was really excited to come here for happy hour with my coworkers because I had heard great things about their bar menu. We sat outside on a nice winter evening, and it was nice because it wasn’t too cold, but they still had the heat lamps on. It was a little breezy, so no one else was outside but our table, but it was still okay.
There were two servers waiting on us, it was really good because they kept coming by to check on us. However, they weren’t coordinated, because they both kept asking the same questions.
I got a glass of Malbec and a Palm Beach cocktail and had the Filet Mignon Trio (Sauce Au Poivre, Béarnaise and Blue Cheese Butter) because my coworker had told me it was really good. Unfortunately, I found the meat to be a bit dry and bland. Not sure if it was because I was still getting over a cold, and my taste buds were a bit off, or if it was because I had asked for the meat to be medium. Would it have been more tasty if I had asked for it medium rare? Dunno.
The drinks were pretty good, and the Palm Beach cocktail had the fresh taste of pineapple juice. My total bill came out to $ 25, which was with happy hour prices.
All-​in-​all, I would say it was a pleasant place to hang out for happy hour, except for a hiccup at the end. One of my coworkers had ordered a martini but didn’t realize that his choice of drink was not included in the happy hour prices… but the server had never informed him of such. So there was a bit of a snafu with both of the servers and then the manager had to get involved. They finally comp’d us for the misunderstanding, but it took a long time to sort out the bill. This kind of put a damper to the evening, so I’m not sure if we will be coming back here any time soon.

It’s that time of the year for Holiday and Christmas parties and festive celebrations. Morton’s got the not this season for a gathering of 15 looking for a great place to have both privacy within the restaurant and a great meal. They have several private dining rooms and this one fit everyone comfortably. Plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the meal and plenty of room for effective service.
This Morton’s is relatively nondescript and is located at the base of a luxury apartment complex. I believe Valet is your only real parking option. Like most Morton’s and steakhouses of this caliber for that matter, it’s long on the rich and dark textures throughout a large open space.
Service can be tricky for a group this size even with a set room and knowledgeable staff. Fortunately thing went off without any real glitches. We ordered several things family style and the food was simply on point. I would have to say the appetizers may have out shined the entrees and that is not a good thing at a steakhouse. The star attraction, the Center Cut Filet, wasn’t as spectacular as expected and the Sea Bass
was good but not great. Overall however the dining experience, food and service were satisfying and a real treat.
The group rolled through a menagerie of seafood goodness when they brought out this mini-​seafood tower. Jumbo lump crab, crab legs, Lobster, oysters and shrimp. Heavenly!
The seared jumbo scallops wrapped in bacon were awesome as well. Clean, bright, perfectly cooked sweet scallops wrapped in a crispy and savory bacon blanket. Well executed.
Not pictured but definitely enjoyed was the Caesar salad, nice bit of work on a steakhouse staple.
So the Center Cut Filet. Let me re-​count the ways you succeeded and stumbled.
Perfectly seared «crust» and a plump and juicy cut for sure. The first few bites were
nothing short of spectacular but then the medium rare plus gave was to nearly raw. It’s tough to cook a double cut like this to just the right temp and to send it back is such a waste. I went ahead and ate around the edges and took the rest home for the pooch.

The sea bass special was a nice piece of fish and a decent potion served in a light broth. It was nice but no standout. A nice light dish for those looking to order something other than the traditional steak.
My favorite of the sides was the Bacon Mac N Cheese. Simple perfect.
Great outer crust, oozing with cheese and laced with crispy bacon. A winner.
In addition the table shared Brussels sprouts, asparagus and a mash potatoes, if I recall correctly. This was gluttony at it’s finest. All in all the group was more than satisfied with the fine staff and food at Morton’s. It was a great place for everyone to really enjoy themselves at a special time of the year.

I just recently dined at Morton’s for the first time for my birthday, and I had such a great experience! My friends set up a birthday dinner for me, and they had our group of 8 set up in private room, which was so nice to have a more intimate setting for a larger party! There was a happy birthday message personalized to me at the top of each menu. Such a nice personal touch. And to top off the evening, they took group photos and printed out individual copies for everyone in our party.
Our server was so nice, friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic! Obviously the filet mignon was amazing — juicy and tender and cooked to order. The lobster tail was phenomenal — so tender and flavorful, the best I can say I have had anywhere.
The side dish options were a little underwhelming. There was nothing that jumped out at me that I just had to try. We got the horseradish mashed potatoes, and I love horseradish, but could not taste any at all. We also tried the truffle Parmesan fries — I wouldn’t typically opt for fries to go with a nice cut of steak, but love truffle. I thought the truffle flavour was noticeable, but I would have preferred more. I’d love if they would add other options to their sides that incorporated truffle, such as Mac and cheese or mashed potatoes.
As far as desserts, the hot chocolate cake is a MUST! It takes awhile to prepare, so place your order same time as entrée order. I am not a huge cake fan, but this was perfection. Spongy warm chocolate cake filled with gooey hot chocolate filling, accented with raspberries, ice cream and a hint of caramel. Delicious!

About a month ago, my husband and I visited the Morton’s at Beverly Hills. If you refer back to my reviews, you can read about our experience at that location. Since we had bought the Landry’s select club card (for $ 25 dollars), we decided to go back to Morton’s to spend the $ 25 rewards that we had with them plus the $ 25 that they had added for my Birthday.
When we got to the parking area, we noticed that it is not busy at all… We had a reservation for 9 on a Friday night. So you would imagine that the restaurant would be somewhat busy but it wasn’t. We valet our car and walked in and a nice hostess directed us to our table having pre-​printed menues in her hand saying «Happy Birthday Yasaman».
We sat at our table and soon after our waiter came to introduce himself and take our drink order. Since I was experiencing a mild headache I had decided to pass on drinking. My husband ordered a glass of wine and when the waiter asked me what I would like to drink, I responded that I was happy with my water. On a regular basis, the waiter would just leave right? But guess what, our waiter asked me why I am not drinking on my birthday… So I answered that I was having a headache. So he responded that as far as he knows, wine does not make the headache worse… Seriously!!! At that moment I was about to laugh… Since I had taken a tylenol before arriving there, I didn’t want to drink… Our waiter went on and on but I did not agree to get a wine.
As for appetizer, I ordered the house salad and my husband ordered the french soup. I have to admit that the salad was very delicious. I am not a huge fan of bacon, but it made the salad so crunchy and flavorful. The salad had greens, bacon, blue cheese (which I said to to hold) and cucumber. The dressing was to die for.
As for the french soup, I personally thought that it was too salty but my husband liked it. As for entrée, we ordered the 24oz portar house to share since it is a huge steak. I do have to mention that their steaks are to die for. It is very tender and tasty…
After dinner, he came to take a picture from us which later the would frame it and give it to you which is a very nice touch… A little later, he got our dessert order. We ended up ordering the chocolate soufflet which ended up to be complimentary because of birthday which is a must to get. It was just wonderful.
Toward the end of our visit there, when the waitor dropped off our picture, he asked me how old I am. And at that point I got very offended. I mean you don’t ask a lady how old they are… Right!!!
As he brought the check we told him that we have the Landry’s club card. He got the registered phone number and said he will be right back. after 5 mins he comes back saying that the system does not recognize my name. I showed him the emails that showed that my card is active and has rewards on it but he said he needs to talk to the manager. After 5 mins, he came back with manager saying that the system doesn’t recognized my name… I had no choice but to log in so I could get the account number, which I did. So we were waiting for about 20 mins until the card situation was got solved which was $ 50 off of our bill, which is a pretty good deal…
At the end the manager came and apologized. But as a whole I think since this location is not busy, the waiters make the guests uncomfortable by trying to sell them stuff… I know I got pretty uncomfortable too…
That is why I would go to the Beverly Hills one instead!
