The Pampered Pet Hotel & Spa

We are extraordinarily pleased with the outstanding care and service the wonderful people at Pet Smart Hotel – Woodland Hills have provided to our dog Piper.
We were recently on an extended international trip where Piper got sick with abdominal distress.
We considered returning from our trip but did not need to because the Pet Smart staff made sure Piper immediately got the veterinary treatment he needed and as a result had a speedy recovery. Additionally, the Petsmart staff administrated regularly his medication and continuously monitored him.
We were especially pleased with Erika and other personnel at Pet Smart Hotel – Woodland Hills who communicated with us in real time, were very well informed about Piper’s condition and equally patient with our exhaustive/​nervous questions.
We would strongly recommend them for any and all pet needs requiring overnight stays.
Furthermore, they have a daily dog camp for both small and large dogs which provided Piper with a lot of daily exercise and companionship while we were away.

My dogs have received the best of care for years, UNTIL TODAY! After picking up my 5 yr old Maltese we had to rush her to an Emergency Vet. She could not breath and her ear had been badly cut. Her LARYNX had collapsed from the collar they used to hold her for the trim. Her inability to stop panting raised a fever to add extra concern. Not only did she need an x-​ray and oxygen, they had to inject her with cortisone and a sedative. She has been badly traumatized and could have died! NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE WILL NEVER GO BACK!

Love this place!!! I have a standard poodle and it’s not easy to find a groomer who knows how to groom a poodle. I had been driving to another city to get my dog groomed so I decided to give pampered pet a try since they are around the corner from my home. I am very very pleased with how great my dog looks and I loved the staff and personalized attention. I will try the pet hotel next time I go out of town! The dogs looked so happy at the doggy camp when I picked up my dog. I highly recommend The pampered pet hotel and day spa!!! Thank you!!!

I wish the customer service was better, I feel like the regulars rule this place and my dog and I are insignificant. I don’t like to write negative reviews, I feel a little ashamed but the front desk experience seems shallow. This place has a clean and beautiful facility. They clean the dog urine and fecal matter immediately. Overall my dog is happy at anyone day camp so long as there are dogs to play with he does not know the difference over all it comes down to the front desks experience.

The only problem its that my maltese is alergic to spray him even when i asked not to :(not only that both got ear infection due to water :(also my maltese got a cut underneath his little arm that i only saw 2 days later :(

If you are concerned about the health and well-​being of your family pet, do not all utilize this institution.
We are still trying to determine what exactly they did to our dog at her grooming appointment on January 16^th but for now, we are dealing with a limping, frightened, and traumatized dog with what can best be described as a disgusting shave job.
To begin, our family has used Pampered Pet for many years for both grooming and pet sitting – with no issues. In fact, I will include photos from previous grooming sessions to compare to this most recent experience.
When my mom dropped off our mini-​Bichon/​poodle mix (Bön Bön) at Pampered Pet on Saturday, she was greeted by a new employee named LOUIS (or Luis?). He advised that due to the length of Bön Bön’s hair/​some matting, he will need to shave her. My mom agreed because Bön Bön has been shaved before and it is understandable that some knots can’t be brushed out.
However, when my mom came back to pick Bön Bön up she almost did not recognize her as our own. My mom even examined her teeth to make sure she had the right dog. Her hair had been shaved but was longer in some places, shorter in others, uneven all over. The hair on her ears had been totally shredded not retaining any of the Bichon’s natural fluffy look or the Poodle’s longer ears. Her eyes looked dirty as if she had not been bathed properly. Her whiskers looked like they had been ripped off instead of cut. It is unclear what drove LOUIS (Luis?) to shave her hair in such a mangled, awful way. What EXACTLY did he do to her during this visit? I’m not sure what kind of standards this high-​end facility has, but how can the management possibly, in any way, accept LOUIS’ shoddy work as «grooming»?
My mom was appalled at this awful cut and recognized that Bön Bön was not acting normally upon being picked up. She took her home to let her get some rest. When she arrived at home, she further noticed that Bön Bön was limping, moaning, and would cry out when she was touched. She called over my dad and brother, who noticed the same thing. When they tried to pet her on her stomach and back, she would cry out in pain. Her legs shook every time she stood up, and her back seemed especially sensitive to the touch. She sat in her bed that afternoon and moaned. My mom called our family veterinarian who prescribed her some aspirin so that she could rest. I visited her yesterday and was traumatized at what I saw of our little dog. Now, almost 48 hours later, Bön Bön is still not the same dog that was dropped off at Pampered Pet on Saturday. She appears to be in unusually poor health and is very lethargic. Of course, my mom tried to call the management to see what happened during the appointment. Did Bön Bön fall off of the grooming table? Did LOUIS tug on her legs too hard? Did he medicate her during the appointment? All of our questions were met with apologies and promises to bring Bön Bön in and get her some real pampering. The management told my mom that they didn’t have their eyes on Louis throughout the course of the appointment. The manager my mom spoke with today did not even have the decency to offer a refund for this experience.
In any case, a refund is not the object of this review. We are totally heartbroken over what should have been a positive experience for our innocent little dog. We are in the process of reviewing our options now and we will likely be forwarding all photos and video evidence to the County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control, Animal Facility Licensing Unit and/​or the City of Los Angeles Animal Services for their handle of this matter.

Dropped off my dog Woody. When I went to pick her up her cut looked great. I was a little late and thought I was gonna have to pay a fee I was threatened with before leaving. An asian gentlemen was nice enough to wave it since its only happen once. The customer service was amazing because of this gentleman. Im definately going back.

Absolutely love this place. We are new to the area and only for the winter months. Took our baby there a few times for day care and grooming before boarding him for a couple nights. The staff is fabulous and took wonderful care of Ozzie. He stayed in one of the private suites and we were able to successfully monitor him via phone camera each time we tried to. It was very reassuring to be able to check on him and see that he was okay. I noted that he had water in his dish at all times and had the toys with him that we requested be kept with him. When we picked him up he was clean, well-​nourished and happy. In sum, we have used all of the services for our baby and are more than satisfied with the service. We will continue to use this facility. We are very selective about where we leave our baby and are so happy to have found Pampered Pet.

IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET, DO NOT LEAVE THEM IN THAT PLACE… Horrible experience. This was the second time we left our lovely boy alone since we always take him whenever we go… Two years ago we used pet smart hotel on Canoga which was a great place and by the time we picked up Max (our lovely maltipoo) He was all happy, cleaned and fresh looking dog… This time we used this boarding based on one friend recommendation and closer to our home… I wish I was checking their Unilocal before thinking about that SH***Y place! We used their doggie day camp and boarding for the 7 days that my family and I were gone early August 2015. They were all nice at the time of taking Max.
The worse was when we picked him up. He smelled pee and His but fur was also pooped-​covered, so we had to give him an emergency bath first thing before we even let him inside the house. His bed and blanket was smelled discussing which even after I washed it 2times Max never used it again!!! He hated his favorite blanket now?!. How did the people not notice this stench in his boarding room?
Max was extremely thirsty and first thing he did was finish about half a gallon of water. Like all review before mine I wonder if they really gave any water to the pets left there. They did charge extra for that… I’m seriously disappointed and I recommend anyone NOT to use this place. If I could give negative stars I would give them negative 5 stars… I dropped off plenty of his food and portioned them in a zip lock bag with one extra by the time we picked him up, we didn’t get anything back but the leash and his smelly bed and blanket. But all I mentioned is not the case!
Max looked really tired and was acting slow, then all of the sudden he started making scary sounds looked like he couldn’t breath and that made my two little girls to cry… I took him to emergency care and his dr. gave him antibiotic and cough medicine. Dr. mentioned he probably got cold from another dog. The next morning Max through up couple times on our Persian rug which cost us almost $ 500 to clean and remove the stain…
He took his med for one week but didn’t help him much? this time we took him to another Vet for second opinion. This time they gave Max stronger antibiotic, which didn’t work much :(
It’s been 2months and Max still coughing and has a shortness breath!!! I cannot believe This boarding cost over $ 1,400.00 dollars on the vet exams, x-​ray, cough medication, antibiotics and professional rug cleaner but it’s not even about the money, we want our puppy healthy and happy :(As the last check up his Dr. assuming Max should be pulled hard by his neck which made scratches inside and damage his throats.
I called them and explain the situation. Guess what they offer free grooming?!! WTF
are you joking? NO MAX WILL NEVER BACK TO THAT HHEELL…
Just pray for Max’s health and happiness before I start legal action against you… and CLOSE DOWN this SCAM place there is NO management and NO pet loving employees. Max is our loving baby… N this makes my family and I really upset and mad.

Like other pet parents I had extreme anxiety leaving my puppy pal overnight with someone else but the good reviews, outstanding facility, and friendly customer service convinced me this was the place to try. Mango is shy but the staff here is phenomenal. They brought her to the back and assured us that they would call with an update if they saw she wasn’t comfortable around other dogs. Fortunately, she was, and we were able to keep an eye on her throughout the day via their webcams.
We got Mango back the next day and we would use this service again. Thanks to the great staff and keep up the great work!

So I have 3 areas to review.
1. The groomers. I absolutely love the grooming department. My dog always looks adorable and they treat her so great. They always give her a hug when she comes in. I’ve never had a bad haircut and they always give what I request. They will even call when in doubt to be sure. Grooming gets 5 stars.
2. Boarding. The cages are small but very clean. When we are desperate we board her and I always feel confident that she will be taken care of here. She never seems upset or scared when I pick her up after boarding. They get a 5 star review.
3. Day care. When we boarded our dog we paid the extra for day care. We loved that it had a camera that we could watch our dog throughout the day. Here’s the bad part. When we were watching there was a dog violating our dog. The girl in the room was her phone and not paying attention to anything around her. We waited 15 min before calling and asking them to get that dog away from ours. 45 min later we checked in on her and guess what the dog was still tormenting her. I was ready to ask them to pay me for that dog. I called again and they removed the dog. 2 hours later that dog was back and at it again. I finally told them to take our dog out and reimburse us for the daycare. If you have a sweet loving dog don’t use this day care as they do nothing about the insane high strung dogs. We’d rather her be in a 4×4 cage than with those lunatics at the price we were paying. This gets a 1 star which kills the perfect review they could have had just by watching the dogs and being sure they are comfy and not bullied.

I needed to write an update to say that I am still extremely pleased with the service here. Everyone working at PPHS is super nice and they all show an appreciation for each dog that comes in. My 11 month old pup comes here quite often and she is always excited to go play.
I really want these guys to open a location in Pasadena because I haven’t found a good day care out there yet.

If I could give your place a negative 5 star I would. Picked up my dogs and no one warned me that the dogs were full of urine and feces. The way the dogs looked it was clear that they were mistreated. My dogs got in the car and urinated everywhere. We were told they would walk our dogs 3 times a day. But it was confirmed by the front desk that they were only walked once that day and it was already evening when we picked up the dogs. One of our dogs had to wear a cone because of a recent surgery but when we picked him up he was not wearing his cone. In the morning my dogs were starving I gave them more than enough food and they inhaled it within minutes. That clearly shows that this establishment ignored my babies, didn’t feed them, didn’t tend to their needs, kept them filthy dirty and not once bothered to call me to inform me that he needed a bath. They kept in locked in his room filthy with urine. What kind of business are you running here? I’m embarrassed for you. When we called to complain all we heard were excuses and bullshit. My Benz has to get detailed for 200.00. This place is a scam and full of heartless staff members. Never ever coming back and not recommending your services to anyone. And Lenny or Bill you guys need to reevaluate who you’re hiring in your establishment.

I wanted, so much, for this place to be good. I would give them a 10 for the excellent customer service when you walk in, but that’s not why I went there. Grooming part of it however, deserves a ZERO. When I called for pricing and info, they told me it would be $ 45, when I got there she said it’s a big yorkie (11lbs) so it will be $ 55. I did not argue and hoped the service would match the price. I was disappointed when I saw her after my friend had picked her up. The groomer did a horrible job cutting my dog’s hair. Her neck has longer hair than the body. Her legs were hardly touched, and butt area was not done properly.
The lady who did my dog, I think her name was Christy or Christa? I’m not 100% sure. Maybe someone else would have done a better job.

One of our friends suggested we take our high energy husky to the pet daycare down the street and boom! a match in heaven was made!
When we got Sky, our husky, I had NO IDEA how much energy she would have. No matter how many walks, wrestling matches, or pets she received, she always wanted more. The pampered pet hotel gave her all that and more. Neurotic to begin with, I was terrified of leaving my baby at some strange business all day. Thankfully the PPH offers a life feed that you check on your phone or computer. After a few times of checking in on my pup while she was at daycare I felt more than comforted that she was not only in good hands but also, having the time of her life. She was playing and wrestling with puppies as she should and by the time she got home she was so pooped she’d literally pass out on the couch for hours.
Love the PPH!!! Great great people (Daniel thank you for your help and understanding) and great facilities. I’d recommend this to anyone.
Also, we’ve left our pup over night here and have gotten her groomed— ALL of the services are fantastic!

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this place sooner! My dogs Bella and Nouvelle go here all the time! My shih tzu is absolutely in love with this place. Whenever we tell her she’s going to doggy day care she starts jumping like crazy and immediately ushers us to open the house door to go. My pekingese is still a puppy and she’s a little cautious but socializing her with other dogs has made her much less nervous around other dogs.
They take such good care of the dogs here and listen to any concerns or special needs your dog may need. Grooming here is also the best! I highly recommend asking for Natalie. She always pampers my two little crazy dogs and makes them beautiful!

I wanted to say thanks AGAIN to Bill and Lenny and their fantastic staff for taking care of my dog, Dougie!!! They are contentious, kind and when Dougie came home he was the same living, fun, happy dog he was when we dropped him off!!!
