History

Established in 1980.

Ken Fielding opened Ken Fielding Auto (KFA) in 1980 doing mainly air cooled VW’s and Porsche. Over the years Ken expanded and started working on Asian and European vehicles. When Ken retired in 1991 two of his technicians Mike and Todd bought the business. Three years later Mike bought out Todd and became the sole owner. Over the years KFA started working on American vehicles.

After graduating from Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix Mike first worked for a Subaru dealer in Davis. In 1983 he started working for Ken Fielding Auto. When Ken retired in 1991 Mike became owner of Ken Fielding Auto.

Great mechanics, extremely honest, fair prices, great communicators and just awesome! My family and I have been going to Ken Fielding Auto for at least 24 years! I don’t even live in the area anymore and am more than happy to make the trek to this shop. I always know it will be a job well done, they will be honest with me and won’t take advantage of me.

I have been dealing Brian for years at Ken Fielding Auto. Always professional, nice environment, located in old Woodland with plenty of shopping and restaurants around the shop to occupy your time.

They fixed the alternator and the radiator no problem, but when the problem needed to be figured out and time taken they wouldn’t do the job and sent me to the dealer.
I am now going to another mechanic that took the time and I don’t feel like a bother!

I have been a client since 2004 when I bought my Honda. Mike and Brian and the rest of the crew have always been professional, helpful and do not pad their bills. I leave my car in the morning and I usually have a call within a couple of hours… if it’s just an oil change it is usually ready, if there is more going on then I get an estimate at that time. They break down what needs to be done and why and there is no pressure if I don’t want to do something.
Not once have I felt like they were adding on extras or overcharging me for service. They are less expensive than taking my vehicle to the dealer, which I know because my friend made that mistake and her bill was huge for similar service. When my tire pressure gauge was acting up they told me to bring the car over and checked all my tires for me. One did have a slow leak so they recommended I take it to a tire shop and get a new one. When I asked how much I owed them I was told «nothing».
Great guys, great service. Hard to find a reliable mechanic shop, but this one is AMAZING.

My 2005 Toyota Sienna needed a new starter. The dealer was going to charge me a mint. So I decided to take it to Ken Fielding Auto. They installed the starter at a reasonable price and I had it done that day. I plan to have them do all my service work from now on.
