Dr. Perlman himself is a good doctor. The problem today was with his receptionist/​front desk staff member. This lady acted as if we were an inconvenience, she was short and rude to us and basically made us feel stupid. All of this because after waiting for 45 minutes we dared to ask her how much longer the wait would be. Then and only then did she tell us that the Optician had left. We asked her when he would return and that’s when she gave us her special brand of absolute rudeness. I WILL NEVER GO BACK and Dr. Perlman should give this lady some training on the basics of being professional, polite and basically decent to their patients.

I am SO incredibly impressed with Dr. Perlman and his staff! Recently had blepharoplasty done on upper and lower lids and the entire process was perfect. The professionalism and care that was given was second to none and the results are superb! Would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone and as a healthcare professional myself I am more than a bit particular about both who I will see and additionally who I will send my patients to. Totally 5 star experience ;)

Dr. Perlman has a great reputation for doing charity work in Mexico, and he shows equal compassion right here in Yolo County. He is skilled, efficient, and trustworthy. I’m saddened to see that Unilocal has chosen to «not recommend» so many of the 5-​star reviews, because they illustrate the excellent care that Dr. Perlman brings to the greater Woodland region. Strongly recommended!

Do not use this office!
Last year it took Dr. Pearlman’s office in Woodland three attempts to make a pair of glasses I could see with, but I was patient and stuck with them. I lost my glasses in July and went back for a replacement. After a $ 176 out of pocket and three more attempts, I was called back into the office just to be told by Dr. Pearlman that «a pair of glasses that I would be happy with, just didn’t exist». His office manager advised him that they were already spent over $ 400 in failed attempts.” He then offered to refund half of my co-​pay if I left the glasses there, and forgot about it. I left the glasses with him because I was in shock. I was so angry I couldn’t even think straight. I should have never left them. That was a $ 300+ pair of frames.
I truly don’t feel that it was ethical of them to take my insurance company’s money and my co-​payment and deliver nothing. Not only did I waste my, gas, travel and time off work and cash, but now I would have to wait until next January to get another exam somewhere else because my insurance already paid him. I sent a letter to dispute his claim and was granted another exam somewhere else.
I found a competent eye doctor and discovered Dr. Pearlman was trying to correct astigmatism that was not even there, he miss diagnosed me. Thanks to Griffin & Reed, (Sacramento) I have the correct prescription! DO NOT waste your time and money going to Dr. Pearlman.

My whole family (husband and two kids) all see Dr. Perlman. He is awesome, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The staff is fast and efficient and they have a great inventory of glasses. Highly recommend.

I wanted to reschedule and the person who answered was very rude about it and said they do NOT reschedule. The times I went inside they already seemed really messy and unorganized. Don’t waste your money or time here.

I was referred here for problems with sagging eyelids that were blocking some of my vision, and a blepharoplasty was recommended. There was a pre-​operative evaluation that was efficient but not exactly with warm and fuzzy bedside manner. I guess I’d describe their office culture as «competent yet uncontrived, and a little quirky». I felt a little odd when in the middle of my exam, conversations were happening between the doctor and his assistant about Jane Doe’s medications and some supply problem or other… it wasn’t obnoxious, just a departure from the canned «patient experience» they throw at you in some medical offices. Yet, in spite of a slight lack of personal warmth and pasted on smiles for the benefit of the public, I gained the sense that the doctor was very skilled. I also asked friends around town and heard a LOT of favorable feedback. I decided to pay for this procedure out of pocket and the surgery was scheduled at their office very quickly. The results even after about two weeks of recovery were amazing… hardly any bruising or scarring, and perfect incision lines and sutures. As a surgeon, Dr. Perlman is worth every penny. If I ever needed something like this done again (hope not, but ya never know) I would come here again in a heartbeat. On another note, the practice offers a mashup of optometric, ophthalmic and cosmetic services. Glasses, cataract surgery, and wrinkle filler injections, all in one convenient location…
