My practice is Limited to Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery. Some of our many procedures include biopsies of the oral tissues, incision and drainage of oral abscesses, extraction of decayed and infected teeth, removal of impacted wisdom teeth, exposure of impacted teeth with bonding of brackets and gold chain appliances to assist orthodontic treatment, bone augmentation, repair of oral lacerations, and placement of dental implants.

Following graduation from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Dr. Schiffman began a one year General Pratice Dental Residency Program. at a hospital in Queens, New York. The next year, he was selected to participate in the three year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Training Program at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center-Albert Einstein College of Medicine, After serving as Chief Resident during his senior year, he went on to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a member of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He holds additional certifications from the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and The American Association of Special Care Dentistry in HospitaI Dentistry. In 1998, he became Director of both the General Practice Residency Training Program and the Department of Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery at Peninsula Hospital Center, and was later elected President of the Medical Board.
