History

Established in 1988.

S & D Music Studio (stands for Single & Double reeds — clarinet, saxophone, oboe and bassoon), though opened in 1988, can trace its beginnings to many, many years before. Music was a strong pull throughout Cheryl’s secondary school years, and after starting playing the clarinet she began to explore other instruments, including the saxophone, oboe and bassoon, studied privately and played in all the school instrumental groups and outside school in many community groups.

Cheryl graduated from Viewmont High School with honors and decided to attend Utah State University. After three years of school she added music education as a second major to her biology education major and added a minor in music composition. As she was working her way through her secondary education and music methods classes, Cheryl set about to develop her own teaching studio, and opened for business immediately after graduation.
