I love the food !!! The workers are so fast and so attentive ! Amazing location just the wait is annoying at times but hey that’s part of going out to eat !

Two thumbs up for one of the best Colombian restaurants in Queens. Me and my family come here almost every weekend. The waiters are super friendly and very patient. The food is always on point. Try Frijoles con Garra or Bandeja Paisa

Just had lunch there, one of their dishes came without a component, told the waitress, she said it’s on its way, finished my meal, she sent the bus boy to clear the plates, I told him too, nothing was done, no apology, or credit on that item, she sent the bus boy to give me the check, couldn’t face me, so she didn’t deserve a good tip, won’t be going back there, I dine out all the time, she made me look like a fool, I’m in the restaurant business, no professionalism whatsoever, I wouldn’t hire her on my restaurant. She works the afternoon shift, be on the lookout for this sorry excuse of a waitress.

Good Colombian food. Its ok to dine in, the sangria is good. Great for take out or delivery, quick. La bandeja paisa con carne molida is my ultimate favorite and I highly recomended. Try pollo a la francesa! Muy delicoso!

Love eating here! The food is delicious and the portion siZes are huge. I always go with some friends and wind up Sharing becauSe I can’t eat the whole dish myself. Prices are good and staff is nice as well. Definitely

Great service, great food. had the chuleta empanisada with rice and beans and a side of maduro. Oh yea and a manzana. Amazing. Employees are very polite and food is fresh ! Definitely recommended!

I had the fried porgy/​tilapia with tostones (fried green plantain), rice, and fried cassava. Fish was well-​seasoned, fresh, fried until skin was crispy. I like how they scored the fish to create more crispy surface areas. I guess it also helps cook the fish faster and more evenly too. My friend had the sirloin steak with madaros (sweet plantain), guacamole, rice, and beans. I liked the fish, but my friend said the steak could be better. I like the madaros too. I ordered the mango juice and you can pick if you want it with water or milk. I chose milk and it was very good. For dessert, we had the tres leches flan. It wasn’t the best I had but it wasn’t bad at all. Our server was very nice and we had great service.

Come here every sunday for brunch with the Family. Amazing, amazing food.
Waitresses are very nice and attentive. You don’t have to wait long for the food.
I have tried almost everything and you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, from calentado, to carne asada to pechuga a la plancha. best Pollo Mario I’ve been too
I love the rice and could probably eat it by itself, wish i could make it like this at home.
Overall great place to eat. Good price and wonderful feel. Although, if you do go there in the winter, I recommend a seat in the back and not near the window where the wind won’t hit you. Can get a little chilly.

Is an obvious imitation of a more well known chain but thought it deserved a try given that we were in the area.
Had the grilled skirt steak (I think) and the other half had the chicken. Overall, the food was good but given what I’m used to at the other spot, it was hard not to have it pale in comparison. I would definitely eat here if I’m craving some Colombian food but can’t be asked to go elsewhere but overall, food was just good, not phenomenal. Portions are large here, though, so that is always a plus. It’s fairly priced as well so it’s a good deal for what you’re getting. Waitstaff super friendly. It’s also similarly decorated like the popular chain.

I’ve been to Pollos Mario before but never to this one. It is adorable. Very comfy & homey. Perfect for a date. The food is sooo gooooood! Authentic Colombian food. Its also priced reasonably & they serve large portions which always a good thing (I love leftovers). The waiters are also very attentive & are always making sure that you’re comfortable & enjoying yourself. I actually like this pollos Mario more then the previous one I’ve been to. Mostly because its smaller and you get better service

Came to this restaurant on a whim with a friend, both starving. My friend ordered number 24 and I 21 I think. Anyways I thought my order was chicken but it ended up being fish still ate it and tasted good. Nothing crazy either just plain simple. My friend ordered fish too. The waiter was very attentive of us. Very good service food was good.

Love the bandeja paisa. Rice, beans, fried egg on top of the rice, maduro, chicharron, and steak. You can share it with probably up to three people. They also have a lunch special one thats a smaller portion and it runs about $ 11.00. You could also share that with one other person. Love it here !!!

being raised in queens means that i have been here a couple of times. This is a Colombian restaurant and i love their chicken. the service is fast and very friendly. try the Colombian sodas they are very good. The food is super cheap but very well prepared. if they offer you wine take it. they are very good in making you feel like family

I am biased. I love any of the Pollos Mario restaurants. There are quite a few locations in Queens including in Astoria, Middle Village, 3 in Jackson Heights. Been to every location. My BF and I love the variety, price and portion. We like portions that are large enough to share and/​or have leftovers.
From memory, I am almost sure Woodside is the smallest location of all the Pollos Mario in Queens. Been to this location a few times and there is only several tables in here. Only a couple of large tables and a few smaller tables on the lower level. Tiny location.
My boyfriend and I seem to order the Mario’s Special Platter very often at all the Pollos Mario locations, $ 18.25, which comes with a thin grilled steak (they cook it well done, it’s going to be on the dry side), pork loin (excellent-​very moist), Chicharron (fried pork skin, eat quickly!), ¼ chicken (I always ask for dark meat), a generous side of rice and beans, fries (which I always ask for a substitute, maduros which is sweet plantains), and for making this plate look healthy… some salad. It feeds two people with leftovers!!! I am sure it feeds 3 or even 4 not so hungry people.
We’ve tried the fried fish. which was only okay.
The breaded chicken is delicious. And whenever a plate comes with fries, we always ask for maduros. We love maduros very much and it is very nice of them to let us substitute.
This by far is not my favorite location. Can’t really say why but it just isn’t. Maybe because this location is too small? The vibe is not the same as the other Pollos Marios but that is just a personal thing.

Good place to have good old Colombian Food.

Te place was totally empty when we first arrived, that was a red flag, but my nephew was hungry and I was tired. The food was not so good, my sister ordered a shrimp ceviche and it was 4 shrimps dipped in ketchup. My other sister order a sea food salad and it has no taste, she had to order lemon to make create some flavor and my sobrebarriga a la criolla I had to dip the spoon in the plate in order to actually find the meat which was tasteless. The place isn’t what it was before.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with this restaurant. Usually a hole-​in-​the-​wall setting is the sign of authentic food, but not this. I really hope that this restaurant is not the mark of good Columbian food. Based on the hit or miss reviews, we decided to give this a shot, but we shouldn’t have. Everything was bland… usually South American cuisine excels in moist and well seasoned rotisserie chicken and we thought ordering that would be a safe choice. It was dry, under-​seasoned, and we couldn’t order enough cans of soda to chase the dry chicken with… yes, no refills here. Grocery store rotisserie chicken ranks many notches above Mario’s. Our other dish was some sort of chicken with rice, beans and salad. Nothing memorable, very bland, very dry.
On a positive note, the gizzards and hearts soup I ordered was decent, and the only reason for the second star.
I would definitely not recommend this place, unless you’re terribly hungry, just want to fill up your stomach, and for some reason the other 50 restaurants within 3 blocks are out of food… or of course, if you have a hankerin’ for some old fashioned gizzards and hearts soup.

I tried Pollos Mario for a Friday workday lunch, and it was pretty good. The décor inside is kind of like diner meets pizzeria, but South American, with large red booths for the restaurant, and a smaller area in the front. There are tv’s with Colombian news, and the clientele and waitstaff seems to be mostly Latino, a good indicator of authenticity.
The menu includes all the well known Colombian specialties, including rotisserie chicken, grilled pork, arepas, chicharron, breaded chicken, and fruit smoothies. The portions are unbelievably huge, and all include rice and beans. You can easily feed two people with one plate, or make 2 – 3 meals out of it. So in that respect, the value is great. However, the prices aren’t extremely cheap, with most plates running around $ 15 – 20. For me, I can’t eat a giant lunch on a workday, and I was going out to dinner right after work, so I couldn’t bring the leftovers home, and didn’t want to overfill myself. It was tricky in that respect because there was no lunch menu or small combos, so another girl and I decided to order a ½ rotisserie chicken and split some sides.
The rotisserie chicken was absolutely perfect. It was cooked extremely well and was very juicy and delicious. We had a cheese arepa, which was a little disappointing, because it was just an arepa with a handful of shredded white cheese dumped on it. But it was good because I’ve never met a cheese arepa I didn’t like. We also split a salad, which was pretty pathetic. Just a few scraps of cheap iceberg, two slivers of tomato, peas, and carrots. All this came with some spicy green sauce, which was too watery for my liking. I absolutely love Pio Pio’s Peruvian creamier spicy green sauce, and was looking for something similar. But overall, it was a solid lunch.
