Elegance By Carbonneau Bridal Prom & Tuxedo

So unimpressed with this place. My sister insisted on going here for bridesmaids dresses because it is in a central location to where all of us live. She made an appointment however the representative was scarce at best when we got there. We ended up going through and trying on dresses ourselves without any help whatsoever.
All of us ended up getting dresses form the same designer (Alfred Angelo). When it came time to order the dresses they did measure us, however they measured me a size too big. I know this because I was in a wedding a few months ago and had a dress by the same designer a size smaller. They insisted that I needed the bigger size and that I could always have it altered. I got the dress last week and its too big. It is my personal opinion that they did this on purpose so I would have to pay for alterations. Even when I picked it up they stressed that I needed to try it on right away because it probably had to be altered.
Also I do want to note that we did have one bridesmaid that was not able to get a dress at all. They do not carry any maternity gowns whatsoever so if anyone in your party is pregnant don’t bring them here.
The thing that really irked me the most is that my sister had bought an Alfred Angelo bridal gown and was given a coupon for $ 20 off each bridesmaids dress from the same designer and they refused to honor it.
The dress did come in a timely manner although I had to pay a rush fee 5 months out from the wedding, which was another $ 30. So all in all I had to spend an additional $ 80 (I took my dress to a different seamstress I can only imagine what they charge) on it.
This place is in a great location but if you are looking for great customer service I would go elsewhere.
UPDATE:
After writing my review I was contacted by the business owner. She was extremely pleasant and addressed all of my concerns. She explained that the coupon was from the manufacturer’s store and could only be used there and that this should have been explained to me. She also mentioned that they DO in fact sell maternity gowns, we were just never shown them. She assured me that she would be changing policy based on my review and thanked me for the feedback. I have changed my star rating accordingly and suggest that if you have any problems to contact her directly.

Kaila has been such a wonderful help to me. I had to do my ordering process via telephone and internet because I currently live in Hawaii. I’m very excited to finally go there for my fitting when I head back to MA. Thank you all for being wonderful to me so far. Much aloha to you!

The okay:
I met a representative at a wedding expo. The expectation was that when I came to my appointment I would be meeting with her. I met with someone else. This I can understand. The dressing rooms were small (Hello, I am trying to put on poofy white dresses here!) and the stage to show friends and family was packed with multiple (three this day) families. All of that was easily forgiven.
The ugly:
After letting me fall in love with a dress, only to find out that it is discontinued is not as easily forgiven. Also not as easy? Being then told I can buy the sample dress at FULL PRICE, and that «Not to worry» they will have it cleaned and have the 6 inch gash on the front repaired. They didn’t budge at all even when I brought up that I would have to have over $ 400 in alterations done to rebuild the back because it wasn’t the right size.
They clearly have their own commission on their minds and not what is best for their brides. Awful. 1 star because 0 wasn’t available.

I want to update my review after my wedding. I increased my review by a star because my experience during the week of my wedding was much better.
During my final fitting, the bust fit perfectly (phew!) and they had my veil in time. I also noticed that they built a whole new bridal section in the front of the store where brides can model their gowns. If this was present when I had my fittings, I wouldn’t have complained about sharing the space with prom attendees and their moms.
Overall, I have to say that Ashley was amazing to work with. While there were a few hiccups with my bridesmaids dresses and communication regarding pick up times was often sub-​par, I found my dream dress here and everything worked out in the end!

I wish I could say I had a positive experience but I cannot. I am on the west cost but found Elegance online by doing a google search for the product I was looking for. I was excited when I found the shoes as they were a great price and exactly what I wanted. The shoes also arrived quickly! My happiness was only breif though as the shoe was slightly too small. I emailed the company that same day and also called an left a message letting them know I understand they do not accept returns and I do not want any money back, I just want to exchange for a bigger size. The next day I did not have a response to my email or my phone message so I called again, I spoke with a gentleman who after informing me I would be responsible for shipping costs that he would see if bigger size available to exchange. I was completely fine with paying additional shipping, I just wanted the bigger size. He put me on hold for only a second then came back to tell me his coworker overheard him and informed him the shoe is not available. I was disappointed but it was my own fault for ordering a smaller size and I thanked him and told him I would make it work.
I still had my email browser on their home page and decided to look around. I noticed the shoe I ordered was still on their site and still showed as being available in the size I wanted to exchange for. I called the store again and this time got a female, I explained the situation to her and she would not check the stock either, she just told me the shoe was not available. I accepted it and thanked her.
I decided since neither of them actually checked I woudl see for myself. I ordered the same shoe on their site that I had orded a week ago, only this time I got the bigger size. At checkout they have an option that asks what you would like to do it item unavailble, I selected to cancel order and not be charged if tiem unavailable. I received an order confirmation and about 5 hours letter a second email confirming my order had shipped. The same shoe I wanted which they had told me was no longer available had just shipped!
I was lied to not once but twice. Great products, Horrible customer serivce!

I had a wonderful experience at Elegance.
I first went to a different bridal shop in Worcester and they only had 3 dresses that I could try on (since I was buying off the rack). Only 1 actually fit and the other two I hated. I’m a 12 pant size so there really should be no problem finding dresses that fit. The woman didn’t seem to ask me any questions about what I liked/didn’t like and I thought that was odd. She also kept pulling dresses that were $ 300 over the max limit that I told her and none of them «wowed» me. I left this different bridal shop feeling discouraged.
Then I went to Elegance. What a difference!!! A wonderful woman named Aisha spent the first 10 minutes just listening to me talk about dress features that I found attractive and I was able to point out a couple of dresses that I thought were pretty. She was such a sweetheart and very patient with me (I really loved that about her). Every dress that she pulled was beautiful and I could tell that she had really paid attention to what I was saying. Their selection was great and I couldn’t believe how many dresses they had me try on and they all fit me beautifully. Within an hour, I was actually stuck between two dresses!!!
I would absolutely recommend Elegance to anyone and everyone I know. They are not «pushy» at all and the environment is professional yet laid back at the same time. Very good «vibes» in this place!
The top things that I loved were: Aisha, dress selection, dress sizes, their prices (every dress that Aisha pulled was within my budget or lower), and friendliness of the staff. I loved this place! :)

Big fan of Elegance.
The building they’re located in is horrific, but the service and selection is pretty nice.
It was the first place I went to try on gowns and with the help of Dee (she’s amazing!) we went through the gamut of dress styles and fabrics. Dee was a sweetheart and WAY nicer than the next place I went to.
This place is a surprisingly wonderful find. And they said they’ll price-​match — amazing!
By the way, they accommodated my 8 family members and friends — super sweet!

My mom and I made an appointment here to look at wedding dresses. We were there first thing in the morning and the store was empty of customers other than us. I had pictures of the type of dress I wanted ready to go so they knew exactly what to show me. When I introduced myself to the girl behind the counter and showed her my dress pictures, her face changed completely. I knew something was wrong, so I immediately said to her, «either you hate the dresses i’m showing you, or you don’t have anything here like this.» She agreed, and said that they don’t carry tea-​length dresses. I was out of luck. Just to be open minded, I let her show me some bridesmaid type tea-​length dresses that I could order in white. I tried on a few with no luck finding anything i liked.
bummer. what a waste of time. If you’re looking for short dresses, this isn’t the place for you. But, I give them stars for being nice.
