Factory of Terror

I’ve been going to Factory of Terror every year since it opened, & it gets better each time!
There have been a lot of updates since it opened, & this year there were a ton of new rooms & characters. You can go year after year & see a different set up each time.
One of my favorite things about Factory of Terror is that characters roam about & mess with you while you wait in line. It only builds your anticipation & gets you pumped for the actual attraction itself. Plus the characters are totally cool with photo ops, too!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! One star is too many. Only has about ten people and all else is machines. Horrible!

This place was awesome, cheaper then the competition and a lot scarier as well. My only complaint is that i wish it was longer because it was so fun. It was maybe a half hour walk thru? Not to bad for 23 bucks. Two thumbs up

What a waste of money! I only gave it one star because it’s impossible to give 0. We waited in line almost 2 hours, only not to be scared at all! They allowed too many people in at once, so you knew exactly when someone was going to hop out to scare you. The gimmicks were campy and predictable and the costumes cliché. If you’re looking to be scared, save your time and money. Even the 6 year old children leaving the place weren’t frightened. I was hoping because the place was so large, that it would provide something worthwhile. Unfortunately, I was beyond disappointed.

This place was actually pretty cool. The price was definitely not bad at all either. (24 dollars a person) The people that dress up really take costumes to a whole other level. They stay in character the whole time even when talking to them. And they are all friendly. You can tell they enjoy what they do which makes you enjoy it as well. The artwork inside the 3D room was amazing. We did ask who it was by unfortunately the monster we asked had no idea. The props and set ups were unbelievable.
Not many cons at all to the place. The only thing was that we waited in line longer than we were inside and it was very cold out. Line is outside so I suggest bundling up if you go. Although we did make it there pretty late and it says right on the Q&A to arrive early to get good timing, so our fault. The line wasn’t bad though because monsters were walking around and there was a food truck.
Another con was that it was pretty short although there was a lot to look at so we tried to take it slow so we could enjoy the props but they do hurry you along pretty strictly, but like I said we arrived later so it could have just been because they were closing for the night.
I would absolutely recommend this place. Just go around opening and wear something warm if you don’t!

My kids and I loved this place so much that we had to go back a second time already this year! They have changed so much from last year which is nice to know that these people really care about what they do. My favorite part is the 3D clown maze while my kids loved the man with the light on his head. He scared them so bad they fell over and then made them laugh as he made jokes and talked to them all while staying in character. The workers there are very helpful and the monsters are even better. Every single one of them was great. The only down side was waiting in line and lack of parking, but is well worth it. The line was going quick, although they sent us in with another family so we missed a lot of things, thus making us come back on a less crowded night. This is the best haunted house around and everyone there is truly professional.

Never thought I’d be so happy being so terrified! The actors were great, they stayed in character the whole time. Imagine your favorite horror movies coming to life. Clowns, zombies, possessed little girls, spiders, a little bit of claustrophobia. This place has a little bit of everything.
Took us about 40 minutes to get through the factory. We went on a night that wasn’t that busy so the line wasn’t very long, only waited 15 minutes to get in. Fair prices for the scale of that place, it’s HUGE.
My boyfriend told one of the actors my name without me knowing and the entire cast seemed to pick up on it, making it even creepier.

This place was excellent. It’s obvious that they put some money and effort into creating an exciting and scary experience. I’m looking forward to going again next year. I loved the 3d room! Go VIP! There was no line!

I haven’t been to a haunted house in 12 years… This was a good time. The actors were creepy, effects were very well done (esp the 3d room!!) You can definitely see where your money goes. Worth every penny!

This place is way too expensive for the actual amount of «terror» my friends and I experienced. We went on Sunday night and the line was about an hour long. A more fitting name would be «Factory of anticipation», because waiting in line not knowing what to expect is the scariest part. The actors can’t actually touch you so, if they don’t catch you off guard they are not scary at all. Only about 2 of them caught me off guard. However, I will give it to the actor who started calling out my sister’s name, because I know that freaked her out a little, haha. So, the only part of this whole tour that actually terrified me was this claustrophobia inducing black hole type thing you have to crawl through to get to the other side. I was like «HELL NO, I CAN’T DO THIS!». Then the actor standing beside it proceeded to tell me it was only 5 seconds of terror.

I went here on the first official weekend of its inaugural season, 2013. I was so impressed and had such a good time that I made it a point to work here the following season, Here it is, 2014 and here I am. But I digress— a review…
Upon walking into the Factory, we were met by a group of Hollywood movie monsters with whom we could take a pay-​per-​purchase photo. Buy it or don’t; no one will treat you any better or worse. The waiting area offers a long queue, but so does everywhere else. The good thing is that there is great ambiance and roaming monsters to get your adrenaline going and put you in a scary mood. Kudos to a wonderful «little girl» who stared me down and then, when I giggled at her, proceeded to «curse» me and draw a circle of chalk around where I stood, thus condemning me. Her excellent character portrayal was a small appetizer for the feast of fright that lay ahead. The ticket prices are what they are and there are coupons online for the wallet-​conscious. The line moved quickly for my visit and I did not opt for the VIP Skip-​the-​Line ticket.
From the moment we stepped inside the main room of the haunt, I was captivated by lights, sounds, fog, creepies, crawlies and everything in between. There is darkness, there is color, there is disorientation, there is familiarity (if only for seconds) and there are some moments of mental discomfort as the Factory and its inhabitants draw you into their world. I won’t divulge the details of the rooms here, but each person and thing involved is highly vested in bringing the best entertainment they can to each guest.
Each room leaves you wishing you weren’t that much closer to the end. The walk-​through is varied; if you’re a runner-​through, it’s over rather quickly. If you’re like me and you like to take in all that a place has to offer, it will be a reasonably lengthened trip. I will refrain from revealing any secrets of the haunt; just be prepared to be scared. Make this a must-​do for your Halloween season. Come to the Factory of Terror; it is an excellent addition to Worcester nightlife and everyone here is just dying to see you…

Now this is how a haunted house (factory) is done.
We had a not so great experience at the Fall River location a few years back, so we decided to give the Worcester location a shot. So glad we did, because this location made up for the underwhelming experience a few years ago.
Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $$ to get the VIP ticket. The line was a mile long, and we would have waited hours to get in if not for the front of the line access.
All of the attractions in the factory are top notch — Zombie Alley was very original, and actually made me jump a few times (which is not easy to do…) Clown College was awesome, and the other three haunts were equally entertaining. Yes, it is your usual vampires and zombies and clowns, but they put their own spin on it, and the detail is incredible. If you’re not running through trying to find your way out as quickly as possible, take the time to look at the props and decorations. They did such a good job setting this one up.
The Factory of Terror also did something that a lot of other haunts do not do — instead of just playing scary sound effects /​creepy organ background music, they played actual music that meshed perfectly with the surroundings.
There were only two things that I could consider «cons» as far as this place goes:
— one of the women working the ticket booth was unnecessarily rude (the rest of the staff were super friendly, but first impressions go a long way…)
— the restroom situation could use a little help. There are port-​o-​potties outside, which is not a big deal, but they were all out of toilet paper an hour after opening.
Out of the 20+ haunted houses/​parks/​factories/​ships etc. that I have been to, I would rank this one in my top five.

My friends and I had sooooo much fun tonight! Our sides all hurt from screaming and laughing. Naturally, they’re good at targeting those of us that are most likely to scare easy. :) Will definitely return!
