Paris Cafe

Conveniently located next to the Worcester Court house, Paris Café is where the cool lawyers go to grab a quick caffeine pick me up, or a low key lunch.
Paris Café overs reasonably priced salads (Greek, Berry, Ceasar, Chef, with the option to add grilled chicken or a hard boiled egg for an additional $ 2), freshly pressed paninis, a wide range of flavored lattes and coffees, and most importantly the best Chai Tea you can find in the Commonwealth.
Both the salads and sandwiches are well portioned. The ingredients are fresh, and staff are generous with their veggies.
The flavored lattes are quite good– with flavors ranging from the expected vanilla to the more adventurous marshmallow. A Paris Café drink ‘large’ is truly that — weighing in at almost gallon size.
The staff are friendly and the service is quick.
Paris offers a 10% discount to pharmacy students, court staff and DCF employees. They also participate in the Belly rewards program — every purchase earns you points towards a free drink or sandwich.
Seating is limited but the décor is quite nice — with France inspired artwork and Art Deco chairs and tables.
All and all — an excellent lunch spot for folks languishing in the downtown Worcester area!

The food was weak, the smoothie was disgusting. The best part was the service which was just bad but not awful.

To begin I don’t drink coffee so while I’ve heard their coffee is very good, I’ve never had it.
Their juices are very good, albeit a bit small for the price.
Their paninis are also very good.
Definitely a place to check out

Out for a walk down Main Street on my day off and I caught sight of people sitting at tables out front. Cross the street, check the menu posted outside, walk in, discover a new café.
I love places with that awesome tiny coffee shop feel. Mismatched furniture, chalkboard menu, eclectic staff make it a neat place to stop in for a cuppa. They have a pretty diverse selection of foods, smoothies, and raw juices. They make a mean strawberry lemonade raw juice. Double fist those things. I got a turkey bacon wrap to try out and it wasn’t bad.
Service isn’t bad either. Staff is friendly enough though not particularly enthusiastic, as in barely talk to you, but I’m not expecting too much as long as the libations are good and so far it does it well.

We tried Paris for lunch on a Monday and were very pleased with the experience. The café is very small and cute, and the staff is friendly. I had questions about tea that they were able to answer, and they even suggested a certain one when I explained what I was trying to avoid.
I had the caprese panini and my fiancé had the turkey apple sandwich. Both came with a tiny side of pasta salad, which was as delicious as the sandwiches. My fiancé had a hot chocolate, which he described as one of the best he’s ever had.
My only complaint is that because of its size (I assume), they don’t have a public bathroom. Though a disappointment, it’s not enough to bump my review down to 4 stars.
I look forward to going back whenever I’m in the area, and have already started suggesting it to friends.
Some people expressed concern over the «hipster» vibe/​attitude and slow service, but I didn’t have that problem while I was there. Everyone was friendly and service was prompt. The food took a little longer to come out than I think it should have, but keep in mind that it’s a very small place. If there are a lot of orders, it’ll take a few extra minutes to make.

An update. I decided to try this place one final time and I’m happy to report that they still don’t wait on you! Walked out on Wednesday after 5 minutes standing at the counter in this completely empty coffee shop! Maybe it’s the whole ima hipster douchebag theme… maybe it isn’t cool to actually wait on customers when you are selling stuff! Hahahaha! Not good, not good at all. And would someone please tell these people that selling «sugar skin rubs» just doesn’t go with the «eat here» goal!

Cute little café with awesome healthy choices! I like to come here in between classes for lunch and coffee. Their flatbreads are the best, especially the autumn flatbread! It can get a bit pricey, especially for the juices but I guess you are paying for fresh organic food. Don’t come here expecting a quick in and out experience because the food takes a while to prepare but you can sit and sip on your beverage while enjoying the cute atmosphere during the wait!

I’m writing this review because it seems a lot of people are talking shit on their service so I figured I’d touch on that.
I’m not from the area and so I Unilocaled a near by coffee shop. Found this closest to my hotel. Walked in and loved the atmosphere, the music, and the two girls behind the counter had the cute Zoey Deschanel vibe goin and I’m never mad about that.
One girl seemed a little overwhelmed but still handled business. Once it was busy the team from the back came out and helped get it goin.
The service wasn’t as quick as some coffee shops I’ve been to but I’ve been to some Starbucks that take horribly long to make a drink. And I’m a fan of Starbucks.
Stoked I found this place.

Had my first Paris of the Eighties experience today. I got the grilled cheese with avocado, which I was a little hesitant at first because of the price ($ 5) but it was completely worth it. The sandwich is huge and is enough to be a meal on its own. I also got one of the cupcakes to go with. It was fantastically delicious, albeit a little small. Sadly, there was very little selection for sweets. There were only four cupcakes to choose from at lunch time and I would have liked to see a few more.
As for the service that people have been mentioning, I can’t say I had an issue with it at all. I won’t lie and say the service blew me away but I would say it was average. Nothing horrible about it at all. They were out of several menu items but they told me that before I even ordered and told me what they would substitute to fix it, which I appreciate.
The place itself is very cute. A little cramped but adorable all the same. I will definitely be going back and trying more of the menu. I can’t wait to try some of that coffee! The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is just the lack of pastry choices and the fact that the customer service was average, nothing above and beyond.

I was, as was my entire office SO EXCITED when Paris of the 80s opened. And we all go there very often. The coffee (which is what I tend to go for) is by far the best I have found in Downtown, the place is cute and the staff are friendly.
I am with Dan. S. when I say I am reviewing because I truly want Paris of the 80’s to succeed. Aside from often slow service (which I usually don’t really mind) the two star rating is due the high pricing on the iced coffee and the 1 $ add on for a splash of soy milk. Don’t get me wrong, I will pay money for good coffee, and I recognize that iced is often more expensive than hot (especially if cold brewed, not clear if this is the reason for the cost at Paris of The 80s). Although I have never encountered a brewed ice coffee this expensive, I would be willing to pay the $ 3.00 for a medium iced at Paris of the 80s now and then on a steamy day. However, the $ 1.00 add on for a splash of soy milk? Prohibitively expensive.
I get that soy milk is slightly more expensive than cow milk, but charging a dollar for a splash? Never heard of such a thing. $ 1 extra for something like a soy latte, yes, I understand. But if your are charging a dollar for less than an ounce of soy milk for us lactose intolerant folks, that just doesn’t seem fair, and sadly it doesn’t make me want to continue to get delicious coffees at your café. I am trying to think how much is getting made off of one $ 3.00 quart carton of soy milk, but its gotta be close to 30 bucks. Not saying I wouldn’t pay a little extra for a splash of soy, but charging more than 50 cents (maybe .25 per-​splash?) seems a bit like highway robbery.

I got the cranberry chicken salad wrap. It didn’t pack any flavor or crunch. Advertised as having celery, it had no sign of it. It was drenched with mayo for my tastes, and I also had to add salt and pepper to it. I ate half and walked around with the other half all day until I just threw it out. My friend got their grilled cheese, which looked AMAZING so I will be coming back for that on a cold day.

Cute little café attached to the Palladium. The sandwiches are ok and the coffee and tea aren’t bad either. I wouldn’t say it’s the best café lunch I’ve ever had but it’s a relief to have a place to get a quick, cheap bite to eat before or during a show. There is even a window in the venue that you can order food or drinks at. They close about an hour before the main act goes on, per the shop girl. There chai was quite decent and a nice pick me up during an all day heavy metal festival. There isn’t a lot of seating, so you may be better off getting your food to go during lunch time. Nice addition to the area.

new café where the palladium is in Worcester and located next to the courthouse. great location if you are in need of a coffee. very cute inside sort of a shabby chic look. My issue was the lack of pastries, there were 2 muffins and a couple cookies (It was also before 8am so maybe they didnt have everything out). I was very excited to go in and see what they had (I am a pastry chef), and was very disappointed, at least offer something French and fresh.
I wish them luck. They also have sandwiches and salads. The coffee is Red Barn and they have lattes as well. They have free coffee mondays.
