The Sharks are a good minor league team, or as they put it, «Future NHL Stars In Your Backyard.» If they aren’t popular now, it may be because they are affiliated with the San Jose Sharks, and the Providence Bruins are affiliated with the local Boston Bruins. Providence is only so far from Western Mass., so a diehard Bruins fan would just travel to the Dunkin Donuts Center to see their minor league Bruins. They play good hockey, and the attendance is always up.(When the screen says«get loud» you’d better believe it.) Part of this is credited to the birthday party package, but the Sharks are a great team with a good fan base.

I’m not a huge hockey fan, but I have attended a few Sharks games as well as pf there predecessors, the Worcester Ice Cats. Closer to home and much more affordable then the NHL, you will not break the bank taking the family who will be just as entertained. It’s actually much more fan oriented with plenty of promotional nights. Parking is fairly easy. The only downside is that concessions are just as expensive.

The Worcester Sharks are a great family activity. AHL hockey is just as fun, fast paced, and rough(maybe rougher) as NHL, but more reasonably priced and local. Parking is easy on the street or in the garage across from the DCU center.

I have attended hundreds of sporting events in my life and the Sharks are absolutly one of the best bangs for the buck. This is proffesional hockey for little more than 10 bucks a game. Unfortunatly, this hidden jewel hasn’t yet caught on with many Worcesterites. I highly recommend this for all ages.

This was my first trip to see the Sharks and I was pretty impressed overall. Great family atmosphere with cheap tickets to get in we paid $ 10 a seat, and there isn’t a bad seat in the house. The DCU center, was clean and parking was inexpensive as well. The quality of the product from a hockey standpoint was pretty good as well. My biggest gripe, is the cost of the concessions. I suppose a small thing since tickets and parking were so cheap. However, $ 19 for a coffee, cotton candy, slushy and popcorn seemed a bit excessive and $ 6.50 for a beer is bordering on strip club prices. overall though a good experience
