Yellow Cab

I had to use Yellow Cab because Über got 2.4x surcharge at the moment I call. It would be my one and only time to ride with and I swear that I will never use this again. This is the first time I’ve seen a car this dirty. The driver took a longer road to take me to the destination. It came out with $ 17 after tip for a 10 minutes trip. For the ride back, I took Über and it costed me only $ 7.20 and I don’t need to tip the driver. I recommend Über/​Lyft and never use Yellow Cab

This is my first time ever booking a cab in Worcester as I need a ride to catch a bus tomorrow. When they picked up my call, they asked for a time and I gave them one. Then when the call center lady asked for me to «spell» my address, I began to spell it. Two seconds later, the lady snidely said «I can spell your street address lady,» and so I stopped. Next she rudely said I have to call the following morning, when I already stated that I could only request for a taxi on evenings. She then said the word «sheesh» on me. Who in customer service ever says «sheesh» towards a customer? Then she said I was set, and hung up before I could even confirm that she even took my address and time correctly.
If you don’t like your job, quit and find one you like. Then, you won’t act in such a rude and unprofessional manner to others. Honestly I won’t be surprised if no taxi comes tomorrow. Never using this again. I might switch to Über, who knows.

Honestly, I’ve been calling this cab service ever since I started working at my job downtown two years ago and (some) of the cab drivers are awfully nice and are genuinely considerate. Others, I’ve had tried hitting on me and even asked for my number even Also, the occasional second hand smoke aroma which Id rather not deal with but I’ll live. So unprofessional but my destination is all that matters so I can suppress these actions.
The only REAL complaint that I have about this company is the customer service. Oh my goodness! How rude are they
?!! Literally the rudest people I’ve spoken to. There is only two woman whom voices I recognize that are nice but The other dispatchers are extremely rude and seem to have a bad day every time I call!
Three stars– because the nice cab drivers save it from one star.

Rude and hung up on me for inquiring why they don’t let you call ahead. Don’t trust them. With that attitude I wouldn’t trust them to show up even. This lady has some kind of mental issue if she is that rude. I wouldn’t travel with anyone that rude or any company that rude. Not trustworthy or reliable.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE /​CALL CENTER
I’ve been using yellow cab several times, and so far the drivers are all okay, nice and friendly. But yesterday I got VERY ignorant and rude call center lady. I called for a cab at Oliver St, Worcester (around 6.30 PM) and I had been waiting like nearly 15 minutes but no cab was coming. I called again, wanted to tell the lady that I had been waiting quite a time but while I hadn’t finished my explanation she immediately cut and told me to wait for 10 – 15 minutes and hanged up. So I waited for another 15 mins but still no cab was coming. I called again (that time I was able to explain that I already waited for 30 mins), but she said there was no order in Oliver St in the system?! My friend told me to cancel the order but I gave them one more chance. I waited again for another 15 mins, but no hope. I called again to confirm (and cancel finally), but guess what? When I mentioned that I was the one who already waited at Oliver St, the lady said ‘Oh my God, go away’. I couldn’t process what’s really going on so I just hanged up. I felt really disappointed and finally ordered Über cab instead. They should hire better person to handle call center job, seriously.

I took this cab because über wasn’t around. They sent a total of 3 cabs. The 1^st came one hour early and left. The 2^nd picked up someone else. The 3^rd passed my hotel and left because I wasn’t outside (I was in the lobby because it was 1 degree, snowing and I was in interview attire). I immediately called the dispatcher and begged him to call the cab driver. In summary I made it to my interview but it was a complete nightmare.

This post is for a driver, Anil Pradham, who found my wallet in the parking lot of Union Station, found me on Facebook, and coordinated with me to drop it off the next day. I had almost 200 dollars in cash in it, and when he gave it back (after he drove out of his way to do so), he would not even accept a reward. I cannot thank him enough for his trouble and honesty. Things like this so rarely have such uplifting endings.

I was stranded again tonight for the 2^nd time. This one took an hour. 2 times out of maybe 7 times. Not reliable especially if you are trying to catch a train!

We’ve had two great drivers in a row. They were safe, and one showed up exactly on time very early in the morning when we reserved the pickup the night before. The dispatch was a little terse, but that’s a small matter.

We were headed back home from Union station and called a cab. There was a bit of an issue when the cab showed up, but I can’t say for certain what happened and it is irrelivant for the most part. As we were getting out, however, we got a call from Yellow Cab. We returned the call a few minutes later (as we weren’t sure if someone had called in regarding the afore-​mentioned issue). The guy kept telling me that he won’t call unless someone pushes the call-​out button; I asked if there was a complaint and he said no and got rude, restating that he wouldn’t have called unless the button was pushed, but since we were out there was no problem. I simply said «I’m sorry, don’t get grumpy, and thanks.» He hung up, and as he was hanging up he laughed and said «fucking dick.»
So I stood there, really shocked and confused. I wasn’t rude at all and called only as a consideration for the dispatcher who had called me. I returned his call, and asked to speak to a manager. He said he was the manager and proceeded to tell me that he heard every word of what his dispatcher said. I stated that he was rude and called me a «fucking dick,» and after denying it he says «Then don’t be such a fucking bitch you fucking dick,» and hangs up again. It sounded a lot like the guy I had spoke to and it was pretty apparent when he started yelling at me. I called the main number again, with a different number; he answered but changed his voice to sound deeper and was shorter. I asked for a manager, and he blew up again, screaming at me that we’d already been through this and I should stop being a «fucking little bitch.»
I plan on calling back tomorrow to speak to the owner. Part of a company’s rating, should at least be based on how they handle issues like this. I’m voting this 1-​star because I can’t use negatives and I have honestly never been treated like that by any company in my life; I will update based on the company’s response.
Quick update:
I sent an email to the address explaining the issue and followed up. I was explaining it and the owner interrupted, asking if it was regarding the email. I said yes and we moved on from there; he explained the issue. Basically I was called out because we requested a cab at the train station and there was one there or arriving, so we jumped in the earliest car and then the cab that got there to pick us up was trying to find us. He suggested I check for a cab first, then call, which means I end up waiting a lot longer, especially late at night when I just want to get home. I think there should be some coordenation between «oh you’re a cab already there, good, pick up this person.» Perhaps that’s just an idea, I really don’t know how hard or easy this is.
I am leaving the rating right where it is though. I wasn’t really satisfied that anything was actually going to get done; he mentioned that the person may have been «just having a really bad day,» etc. I don’t care if someone is having a bad day, they just treated your customers like trash, cursing and screaming at them and that should be delt with. You –do not– take out your bad days on the customers, no matter what the problem, especially to that extent. Maybe that explains why he was grumpy, but that does not explain what he said afterword. I’m not sure if there are other cab companies here (we’ve always just called Yellow Cab), but it is something I am looking into. I’m making multiple trips this summer to and from the station and would rather not give my money to a company who is going to explain away bad behavior like that.

Being new to the Shrewsbury/​Worcester area, I was quick to learn that taxis are the way to go for weekend/​night-​time transportation. I’ve used WYC four times now and overall, I love them. They have been prompt, polite and friendly. They drive responsibly and, as oftentimes it will be only be my roommate and I traveling, I trust them to get us to our destination and home safely.
Out of my four experiences, I was most disappointed with the most recent one. The cabbie started off by honking NUMEROUS times (at 10:45 p.m. outside an apartment complex) to signal he was there. When we went outside, we found out he honked because he had been waiting for 10 minutes. Apparently, the dispatcher was supposed to call us, but never did. For the first 10 minutes of the ride, we listened to the cabbie rant about how much he hates the company. For the duration of the ride, he was vulgar, drove somewhat recklessly and worst of all was TEXTING WHILE DRIVING. I’m sorry, but if the whole purpose of me paying you for a service is to get me there safely, texting and driving is NOT what I would expect.
This is unfortunate, and I still plan on using WYC again in the future. They should, however, be prepared for a call on Monday morning when the managers are in office.

Awful! Rude and unreliable! I called for a cab, and while I was still talking I was told I was all set and the call was disconnected. I did not receive any indication of how long the cab would be! 25 minutes later I called back to see if there was an issue and I was told they were waiting for a cab to enter my area… I’m really confused about this as I live right near shrewsbury st! How is there not a cab in my area already!!! Clearly they do not care about their business or customer service because the cab never came! Don’t bother with them! Waste of time!

I had a ride from Shrewsbury to Logan yesterday .This was the worst cab experience. To start with, car stinked like anything. They are lot of stains on car seats and might even have bugs.

Yello cabs dispatcher is very rude and unprofessional he’s sarcastic he bullies and insults CUSTOMERS because obviously he’s fed up with his job! Quit you rude bastard! There service is ridiculously poor as of late! Go with «new worcester» for flat rates 508−797−0772. They take 5 – 10 minutes sometimes more so call in a timely manner. :)

Worst cab experience (s) ever. Unfortunately though, they are the only service that offers payment via debit card in Worcester as far as I know. So whenever I don’t have enough cash with me, I’ll have to call them. Drivers are always extremely rude, they can make a scene out of anything. It’s really a joke.
Onto today’s story, my friend called a cab to her place and wanted to go to Goldstar while picking me up midway. When I got into the car, the driver was literally YELLING at her because she didn’t clarify enough about what we wanted to do. Then he started driving extremely fast and kept on yelling at both of us. We feared for our lives and said nothing until we got there. Then we called the dispatch and let them know about the situation, they didn’t care a single bit. We had to call them again for returning home. We saw a yellow cab after 15 minutes and it didn’t stop, we were outside waiting. Then I got a call from the driver, again, YELLING «I’m outside». I said we couldn’t see any cabs while he just hung up. Called the dispatch again, the lady said the driver left because we weren’t there. By that time 25 minutes have already gone by.
If you ever need a cab in Worcester and you do have cash with you, do NOT call yellow cab. Call Spanish cab as your first choice. They are really awesome and much cheaper.

Yellow Cab is a bunch of bullshit. Whoever rides in their cab needs to know that they will absolutely try to cheat you. I came home one day from Boston after having one of the driver tell me that the drivers knows Worcester/​Boston area. It’s impossible for them to get lost. So know where you are going and print out a mapquest before you sit in this stupid cab. I took it many times to get around Worcester and gotten lost/​overcharged just as much!

Back in those days, Yellow Cab had some pretty sweet deals going on with my college. You have a student ID? Hello discounted fare. It’s late late at night and you’re a female alone? Hello way discounted fare. I think most of those deals are a distant memory by now, but I can’t even begin to count the number of times Yellow Cab was there for me.
Fast forward a few years. Me and the girls are back in Wista for a reunion. We’re staying at a hotel, and want to get over to the bar where we spent our junior and senior years to meet up with our friends. One starts to grab a phone book to look up a cab number. «What?,» I say, «You don’t remember the number? 754‑3211, didn’t they teach you that when you started school?» They answer in the negative, and I realize they didn’t live in my super-​cool dorm with me.
745‑3211. It’s 12 years later, and I still remember the number…
