History

Established in 2012.

Worthington Ophthalmology owes its genesis to 2 previous generations of dedicated eye doctors. In 1949, World War II veteran Jack W. Albright OD, completed Optometry school and opened the doors to Albright Family Eye Care in Worthington, Ohio. Years later his son, James B. Albright OD, would join the practice, and together they provided eye care for the Central Ohio area for decades. Dr. Albright and his partner, Steve Schnulo OD, continue to provide trusted eye care to Central Ohio.

With the support of Drs. Schnulo and Albright, Trent D. Albright MD returned to the Columbus area to found Worthington Ophthalmology. Trent is a fellowship trained Cornea and Refractive surgeon. He specializes in no patch, no stitch cataract surgery, including premium lens implants, cornea transplants, pterygium surgery and refractive surgery (LASIK). Dr. Albright also has extensive training in all aspects of comprehensive medical and surgical Ophthalmology.

Business Owner

Trent D. Albright MD is a native of Westerville and the 2nd oldest of Jim and Vicki Albright’s 5 children. He attended St. Francis DeSales High School. He later enrolled at The Ohio State University where he majored in biology. In 2003, Trent began medical school at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. Dr Albright was selected by his fellow classmates as the student commencement speaker.

After medical school, Trent chose Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, Florida for his general medicine internship. Later, Trent spent 3 years honing his skills in Ophthalmology at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago. Additionally, Trent elected to pursue an extra year of training in Cornea and Refractive surgery with some of the field’s foremost experts at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Trent has returned home to Columbus to pursue what has always been his ultimate goal: to continue the work that his father and grandfather have done for over six decades.
