Hi! My name is Sean Griffin and I am the owner/​operator of Sean’s Private Surf Instruction. I grew up at Wrightsville Beach and surfing has always been a big part of my life. At 15 years old, I was teaching some of the neighborhood kids how to surf and doing a few lessons for family friends. I knew I loved to teach surfing!

Since then I’ve graduated with a Business Degree from UNCW, slowly developed my surf lesson business and traveled all over the world on a shoestring budget. I’ve not only learned how to run my surf lesson business professionally from school and experience, but I’ve learned a heck of a lot about people from 12 years of traveling the world and teaching surf lessons!

I am now happy to say that I stay busy all summer teaching surf lessons in my glorious hometown of Wrightsville Beach, NC, USA. If you’re interested in surfing, make sure you Surf With Sean! See you in the water!

I have grown up in Wrightsville Beach, I’ve surfed for a very long time and I absolutely love teaching: that is why I am great at what I do!

I took my first lesson was at Crystal Pier; age 10. I know the local area and waters like the back of my hand!
