R & M Stables is located near the I-​77, I-​81 merge in beautiful Wytheville, Virginia. We are a full service facility specializing in Registered Tennessee Walking Horses, and Spotted Saddle Horses. We offer a full array of services including sales (trail and show prospects), boarding, instruction, training, colt starting, trail riding, and leasing. We also offer breeding with our resident stallion; Blame it on the Cuervo, as well as assistance with artificial insemination through relationships we have established with many of the leading breeding stables in the industry.

R & M Stables is owned by Ralph and Margie Vines. The rest of our full time staff includes our Stable Manager/​Training Director, Adrianne Cox, who lives on premise, Stable Assistant/​Farrier, Joey Loomis, and technician, Tammy McGrady; Ralph doubles as our Breeding Manager. Business Owner

Ralph and Margie Vines have been married for 37 years and have two children Steve who lives in Phoenix, Arizona and Sara who resides in Richmond, Virginia. They have four grandchildren; Spencer, Jackson, Celeste, and Wolf who all love to visit the farm and ride (Wolf just chases the chickens)!



This has been their first (married) experience with farm life and they have loved every second of it! They decided to move back to the area in 2008 after being away for over 30 years. Their initial plans were to «slow down» buy a couple of Tennessee Walking Horses, and enjoy the good life. Ralph‘s love of horses soon caused them to buy one more, then two; I think you get the point! R and M Stables now has two full time employees, a brand new 11,000 sq foot training facility and has a comprehensive lesson and training program.
