Great food… cooked perfectly. Had the pepper crusted sirloin with whole grains… under 400 calories.

Bad management, bad service, unorganized and a terrible place to work. Pays hostesses/​host $ 5.15 an hour and servers have to «tip» them out which is short changing both servers and hostesses/​hosts. Never have enough silverware and very dirty in back. Over priced for way below average food. They loose more employees by quitting within just a matter of months than I have ever seen. DO NOT APPLY HERE EVER!!!

If the creators of Unilocal ever ate here they would change their rating system and give you an option to leave zero stars because that is exactly what this place deserves. Please save your time and money and eat anywhere (and I mean anywhere) else. Just read all the other reviews-​Dirty restaurant, pitiful service, and terrible food. Need I say more?

This Applebee’s used to be great, but the service and quality of food has deteriorated. It’s too bad, because it was convenient. I would go out of my way NOT to eat here again. And since Xenia isn’t over-​run with restaurants, that’s saying something.

Extremely slow at delivering food during a very late lunch time (about 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon). I know it’s Applebee’s, and expectations are low… but the chicken tortilla soup did not contain chicken, nor would I consider it «soup». It was basically a bowl of pico de gallo or bruschetta.

Is there a rating less than one? When I walked in the hostess didn’t smile but said, «how many?» I told her two and she said it would be a wait even though the place appeared to be at 50% capacity. We waited. The carpet near the front had fries, straw wrappers and lots of food on the floor. The hostess was out of silverware. Erin was her name and she just stood there and said they would bring her more though she made no effort to go find some. She wasn’t cleaning the menus, sweeping or anything she was just standing there. 45 minute wait on food and then told they’re out of twisted potatoes. Really? Lots of other tables around me said they had been waiting an hour. Josh was the manager who never bothered to handle the situation. He was not out apologizing or making amends for his restaurant. He skirted behind the server who had no name tag. She was pleasant but carried no straws, she was scattered to say the least. There was a table in the bar area where it appeared everyone was piling their dirty plates and cups on. Cups and plates with half eaten food were stacked 6 high. The hostess sat us right next to that table, needless to say we moved. It’s an unorganized place with horrible service and a manager that was no where to be seen.

Service at tables and quality of food has declined in the past couple of years. I used to go every other night… Now every time I go I am reminded of why I should stop going there. Great place to grab a beer after work but eat before you get there because the food could be good or could be bad… Or perhaps I didn’t have enough drinks before ordering?

We keep trying this place because I is close to our house. They continue to disappoint over and over again. Food was bad and service was worse. No attention to the customer at all. I am not sure why we continue to give them the benefit of the doubt and go back. I guess it’s more about location. I would strongly advise if u have other options take them.

Xenia Applebee’s is pretty good. I usually take advantage of their half priced app Spicy Cheese Nachos. Best food-​to-​price ratio on the Union side.
1 problem: They didn’t have the spicy queso for the cheese. That’s like having a house warming party with the heat off.

I usually like Applebee’s and I hope they aren’t all like this.
Last night (5-​17-​2013) at about 6:40 p.m. I arrived. I was by myself.
I was told there would be about a 10 min. wait. Well anyway, I think it was less than that. They had asked me if I wanted to sit at the bar but I said No. Maybe I should have. Anyway– I was sat at a table and had to ask them to dry it.
It took a while for my waitress to get to me. (It was a Friday night and very busy).
I finally got my order in and then had to wait about 20 mins– half an hour for it to come out. I also ordered Sweetened Iced tea. I received that but it had no lemon. I then asked my waitress (when she finally came by again) to please bring me some lemon. Then I asked her again about 10 mins. later. Finally after about another 5 – 10 mins. she finally brings it. The tea was WAY TOOOOO SWEET! I later asked for some unsweetened and mixed the two to make it just right. The manager kept coming by but never acknowledged me or asked me how everything was. He seemed to be focused on this table across from me as they ordered a lot of food and drinks. I guess since I am a single woman, I can go scratch! :(
And the waitress seem to take for ever to get back to me. She did seem to be waiting on a lot of tables though.
When I finally got my food, it wasn’t what I ordered. I had ordered the Oriental Chicken Salad with GRILLED chicken NOT the fried chicken!!!
It was too late and I was too hungry to wait another 20 – 30 mins for them to make another one. It was good but not what I had ordered!
When I left the one of the girls asked me how everything was. I said SO-​SO. She could tell I wasn’t happy. She asked if I wanted to speak with the manager and I told her No. I was too upset at that point.
Besides, he apparently didn’t care or he wouldn’t have acknowledged me earlier. I guess since I was by myself, he figured I wasn’t worth his time. As I probably wasn’t going to be spending a lot of money.
Today I did call and complain though and was told that he (the manager I spoke with) would speak with the manager from last night and make sure this kind of thing didn’t happen again. He also promised to treat me to an entré on him. He said he would personally make sure it was cooked right as he used to be a cook at one of the Applebee’s for 17 years. So perhaps I will have lunch there sometime but sure not going there again on a Friday night!

We have eaten here with my parents 3 times and this last time will most likely be it for us. As we entered the restaurant around 11:15 a.m., we waited for a while to be seated since no one was at the hostess stand. However, we did notice the muddy footprints all over the seats in the waiting area and the little girl’s hair accessories that were just lying around on the backs of the seats — and were still there when we left. Then were greeted by Meghan (short hair, glasses) who also ended up being our waitress. We asked for a booth and she seated us in the corner booth where I immediately noticed the entire back part of the seat was covered in trash. I asked to be seated elsewhere, informed her that the seats were filthy and I then came to realize Meghan could care less about any part of our dining experience. Off all of the times I have eaten in ANY restaurant, I have never come across someone who just did not give a darn about anything and had aboslutely no concept of time when it came to bringing us what we asked. SHE WAS HORRIBLE!!! We asked for extra napkins — there were five of us including a three year old, — she brought us two after we had to ask someone else. We waited so long for her to come for my father’s dessert, that we just decided to leave and get nothing. She had not a care in the world about anything! Also, I am on Weight Watchers and I looked up a salad, soup and meal before I got there. I failed to look at the menu and notice that the soup was not on there and when I said what I wanted, she had this aloof, «your a dumb a$$» attitude and made no attempts to try and explain what they had. Of course, I was so flustered by her behavior, I could barely order. Finally, when I did get my meal, it needed a little bit of salt and that’s when I noticed that there was a dried, caked on, white sauce all over the salt and pepper shakers. I’m assuming no one has cleaned them in quite a while. So overall, if you are in Xenia and you are looking to eat out for dinner at a place that’s filthy and the servers could care less, go to the Xenia Applebees, or the Burger King down the road where the employee was found taking a bath in the sink they use to clean their cookware!

I try this place once a year, maybe. Every single time I am reminded why I don’t eat here. The service is poor and the food is even worse. You can get a better meal at McDonalds!

This is close to home so I’ve tried this place too many times to count. Each and every time I hope for the best but I’m sorely disappointed. I eat gluten free… so I almost always order a steak, baked potato and vegetable. Not once has my medium steak been delivered medium, it is always well done, more like a leather shoe. When I take my son, he orders a cheeseburger, and the buns are oftentimes stale and hard as a rock… we have definitely given up on this place. Pre-​packaged food shouldn’t be that difficult to prepare but for the people at this Applebees it seems too much to handle.
